my review

In short: the trailers were awful but the movie turned out be to pretty damn epic.

That being said, i still believe if they had gone full cg the movie would be slightly better but i also think the cg worked pretty well with the live action and practical effects for the most part. For some reason they put the only scene that looked the most greenscreeny into the trailer but left out a lot of the epic scenes, that scene wasnt even very relevant to the plot and it was barely 2 minutes long.

The actors did fairly well and the plot kept the bullshit tropes to a minimum which is always nice but what really makes the movie shine is the incredible cgi. Go watch some blizzard cinematics and tell me you dont wish they would turn that into a movie. Well they did and they certainly delivered.
Another thing worth mentioning is that they stayed very faithful to original Warcraft look and design of things which works perfectly for the cgi and at least acceptable for the life action parts.

The ending doesnt resolved everything and i can see how some people cant stand cliffhangers but i was fairly satisfied and interested in seeing more in the future.
