I'm maybe finished with one or two tracks, I'm just moving slowly with this one when I have good ideas. I've scrapped a lot of stuff so far.
Anyone willing to help with some guitar parts or additional production?

Q-pup here
hey thanks! glad you like it
this is super cool. I love the way it feels, very ethereal and almost cold. It's a little unnerving but in a good way. Have you ever heard the score for Mike Leigh's film Naked? It does something very interesting with guitar and I think something similar in nature (kind of stressful picking) would suit some of your stuff very well.
here's something from the film:
Shitty pop punk group I played bass in. Feel free to roast the shit out of it
Thanks! I hadn't heard that soundtrack before but I like it. I'm not very skilled or able at the guitar so it probably won't be possible unfortunately.

I will definitely return feedback as long as it is more than "rec" or "I like dis"
I mean, it sounds like pop punk. Nothing really stands out, good or bad.
The bass kind of just fits, not that I'd expect much from pop punk
Interesting, doesn't really sound much like black metal outside of the overall tone and trebly distorted guitars and the blast beats that come in now and then. I love the piano bits though. Vox definitely could be mixed higher but I like it

Q-pup here again
I like ur stuff, it's very comfy. I've always loved the sound of lo-fi stuff like that and I really like your voice. Your playing on killing time sounds really good too.
oh shit thats tight. Those vocals are sweet as hell and I love the shoegaze influence on the guitar. This is a purely Minneapolis based compliment but sounds like a band that would play a sold out show at 7th Street Entry on a Tuesday night (Means it's hella cool).
Went in thinking it wasn't gonna be my thing but I was wrong. Currently listening to "1" of ur latest release and im vibing really hard. I love the weird (is that some kinda keyboard or synth) tones combined with the somewhat spastic and fuzzy drums. And when that guitar comes in too it's very interesting. There are portions when the guitar line almost sounds like electric flamenco. The long fade out at the end kinda throws me and make wish for a more succinct ending but I def don't know very much about that kinda free form stuff.
everything you hear that isn't drums is guitar
I agree about the ending though
the middle face out was put in the wrong place but I don't feel like fixing it and the end I kind of had to cut because it ends with myself and the drummer talking and that's boring
I've never though about flamenco influencing me, if its not too much to ask, where in the song do you hear that?
thanks for the feedback though, I'm about to check your stuff out now

I just released my first EP. Any opnion is welcome :)
I'll give feedback soon!
Good stuff I already know (almost everyone here haha)
oh neat I couldn't tell some of that stuff was guitar. The thing I said sounded flamenco-ey was very brief so maybe it was just my mind bouncing around but I think it hit me around the 7:40 mark. I think it was mostly the quick single string strum thing combined with the interesting composition of notes that got me thinking that way.

q-pup again (idk if i need to say who i am in every post haha) popping in basically to say that:
I think ur stuff is super great. I think I said this last time I was in one of these threads but I love the way the vocals sound, I love the variety of instruments and sounds, I just love how sonically interesting it all is. great job great job.
Definitely have to agree with the other person, very good production. Also something I can't often say about other releases here is that I can hear that you've got some confidence in your voice. I really like the harmonies on My Brother's Bigfoot Sighting. Children's Almanac really reminds me of Piper at the Gates of Dawn, with the cadence of the vocals and the words you chose. You should definitely be proud of this, its really good.
I'll start by saying you've got a fantastic voice. This is one of my favorite things I've found on here in a bit. Há portas is beautiful, it feels like an interlude but done right, doesn't overstay its visit but it doesn't feel too short.
I don't have much knowledge of flamenco and not much to compare it to but I do think its interesting to hear that, I suppose I'll be looking into some flamenco then
the stuff that doesn't sound like guitar is pedal wizardry and you're not the first to ask if it was keys actually which I find very cool, I might get that sound on purpose and mess around with it

dark and spacey. The tension and turbulence of the lows under the very airy synths on a lot of these tracks make for an enjoyable and cinematic listen. Favorite track is "Chilling at Franks."
Varied and emotional. I love Transient Life.
Moody, murky and hard-hitting instrumental hip hop with trap-inspired high-hat triplets sprinkled throughout. Very nice.

i'm getting really, really sick of making this damn album. I really need to push it out on april so i can get CD copies made to sell them at the record store day convention here, but i really have no motivation or creativity to continue. I have a lot of stuff written down to record but everytime I try i fuck it up or the recording comes out awful. It's also a pain to sync.

I know that feel. I'm borderline considering cancelling mine.
are you guys on labels that expect the albums to be done or something? what's your rush? think about it, if you take a little extra time, iron out the kinks and make something you like, isn't it worth pushing the release?
i have no deadlines, i just am not satisfied with it
maybe put out a song or two that you do feel satisfied with as a teaser and work out the problems you have with the rest of the album?

Love this atmosphere. The fidelity is definitely demo quality but it has a lot of character and the improv feels really spontaneous and inspired
It goes without saying that your art and aesthetic are really fucking cool. The music is gutsy as fuck. I love the guitar tones and the manic drumming. Dig it a lot.
Cute twee folk. Great composition, especially the melodies, and I think the lo-fi sound really ties it together.
This is so good! The western Americana aesthetic through this fucked up experimental lens is incredible. This is so very much my thing.

Oh shit. I'm currently listening to Norðrvegr. It's fantastic so far. The melodies, which are sweeping and grandiose, remind me a lot of Panopticon. Well done man.
I'm by the way
Thanks for the encouraging words. As for your album, what I've heard so far has been very warm and inviting. The harmonica is what makes the second song. I'll be coming back to this one. I would encourage you to pursue the less conventional aspects of your music a little more. Like that bizarre, hypnotizing flute parade you've got going on in the back of Children's Almanac. At this point, I think all you need is a little more of the ol' element of surprise. (2 Organs is great. Yeah, I'll be coming back to this one for sure.)
Glad you liked it so much. I'm listening to "Seek Pleasure Kids" right now (great album title). I really like how seriously you take your music. You can tell a lot of work was put into it. This is especially obvious in the arrangements- each moment careful and cautious. Spice up the chord progressions a little bit, but I would say you should definitely keep it up.

Trust me, this new album will accomplish that. The unedited opening track was original almost 6 minutes long but until I find a guitarist, it's being cut back a bit. The other tracks will mostly surpass 3 minutes.

Check out my man's stuff here. My current favourite is track 6, March Through Frozen Spruce Forests. On my 6th listen of the album now, thisdude turned me on to DS.
I don't really know much about the genre, but I liked the track titled Airport, reminds me of Brian Eno. Keep it up!
I really like the mood of your songs, heavy midwestern vibe, like the lovechild of Springsteen and Cash. I'm into it, but two things I found weird are: the guitars have way less reverb/echo on them than the vocals and that jars it all a bit, and I found the album liner notes below the tracklist a bit pretentious to be honest.
Repping the homeboy Gub. The lyrics are tight, the literary rhythm reminds me of Radnóti. Reccing as always.
>wall noise
what the fuck is this?
literally no music happening, just fucking noise
Yeah, it's a really weird genre, it's harsh nosie but without any dynamics or progression (and it's usually really overwhelming).
I like to think of it as therapy, or ASMR noise (if that helps you get it)
The point is to make something completely static, without zero input from the artist aside from setting up. It's about finding a nice texture that's good for ya ears.
There are some drone sounds on my album too if you like that more.
Thanks for elaborating, today I learned something.

(Those mathy bits in 13:08 sounded really cool, great drumming man)
(Flying lotus vibes, I like it. Really good production)
(I like this dude, great lyrics, dinosaur jr vibes. I will say if anything though look into fleshing out your music a little more. A few floaty piano and reverby guitar parts running though the background would really pull this together for me.
(This is really fucking good. I'll be following your stuff)
