I'm looking for an episode of a detective show, probably British and from the 90s. I was certain it was Jonathan Creek, but I just re-watched every episode and it wasn't
Anyway the only thing I can remember is an old man standing at a window making a scary face, and it turns out that he's actually been stabbed in the back and is dead
Please help if you know it

I haven't seen Johnathan Creek in many years so I can't remember the relationship between the two main characters. Weren't they friends with benefits or something?

I also love McCallum (with John Hannah), and Halifax F.P.
I always found British murder mystery shows way darker than American and the characters seem traumatised a lot more

I thought it was Morse or Frost, and the only thing I remember is someone had rigged their attic so little needles come out the floor and electrocute someone who stands on it. Anyone know it?
