Also has anyone heard of Enrico Onorfi? What do you think of him? I just saw him for the first time live conducting Croatian Baroque Ensemble and it was incredible.
January 29, 2017 - 09:35
What are some good 'heavy sounding" composers? I can only think of Stravinsky, Bruckner and late Beethoven right now.
January 29, 2017 - 09:40
Dufay is interesting, first known 'composer'. He invented modern melodies, secular music, contributed greatly to music theory and wrote songs using math to create Isorhythmic Motets something unheard of in the 1400s. youtu.be /TybmKVSsYi0youtu.be /_dV5b8AuLHg

its sounds made on a piano. thats all 20th century music is, sounds made on instruments. That's all any music is.
There was a time when col legno, and even pizzicato were considered crazy techniques more noise than music.

Explain why Haydn isn't superior to Mozart.
January 30, 2017 - 02:29
but he is superior to Mozart
January 30, 2017 - 02:32
Mozart's symphonies 36-41 are just as good if not better than any Haydn symphony. Mozart also has better string quartets, concertos, operas... Haydn only really beats Mozart in religious music.
