LET US CELEBRATE THE REAL RESULTS

Let the buthurt begin and the jimmies be rustled

Can you order it by population per gold medal?

Here are those results

Nice, thank you. So Bahamas is basically the GOAT?

>if Grenada get one gold, no country with a population of over 10m can pass them unless they win 94 golds

Also nice maths you fucking idiot. You've divided South Korea's population by their gold medal points, not their gold medals.

should probably write off anything less than 2 gold medals total, like its a statistical anamoly

put that in to see if anyone was paying attention

>Columbia

As always.

fuck grenada off, the true rankings are as follows:

***

No. 1 Medals per capita:

Jamaica

No. 1 Variety of medals per capita

Croatia

HELP, SEE CAN ANYONE HELP ME

you forgot one of our gold medals REEEEEEEEEEEE

>still doing this per capita shit

so do we get to send 300 million athletes and you only get to send 20 million? Cause I'm pretty sure Australia had almost as big of an Olympic team as the US.

>Belbium

bigger population means a larger athlete pool to pick athletes from

You have 300m potential athletes
That means you get way more genetic freaks
Way more chances of people picking up sports

Population is a massive advantage

The issue is that in places like the carib some olympic sports are v. popular so they still have a large pool of athletes to choose from despite low overall pop

>this rest of the world damage control
get fucked lads, see ya in 2020 :^)

He has something of a point. We just need to stop fucking sending literally every dickhead that just barely qualifies for a sport and ensure we get some quality athletes. We have too much of a quantity over quality mindset which is what the Brits seem to have purged over the past couple of games. Plus we need the swim trials closer to the Olympics like the seppos do so they're still competitive and not the spoilt, lazy cunts they are. Fuck our swimming team, seriously.

Should get some of those indonesian lads, you lot are raping in concentration camps

they seem good at rafting and open water swimming

youtube.com/watch?v=URNRTrpnT7g&ab_channel=WWE

mad much? you will grip upon that per capita forever. we smoked china, india. and will use a canadian to make a theme. he'll change nationalities soon enough....

dude i get that you love gooks and shit, but seriously, check your calculation on worst korea

the should be 24th, not 9th

Never gonna get over that facefucking we gave you are you?

Fucking kangaroos and your crocodile dundee tears.

...Except it doesn't matter if your athletes are shit, as we see with Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Mexico, etc.

Over 2 billion people won a total of 1 (one) gold medal.

Yet, tiny Bahamas or Jamaica can get Gold medals.

Why? Because they have a sporting culture that drives a very small number of elite athletes to sporting glory.

The US simply does that on a much larger scale than anywhere else in the world. Which is why we have thousands of medals, despite lack of interest in Olympic sports in general.

Yes, we all wrap ourselves with the flag for 2 weeks every 2 years, but in the meantime, we don't particularly support our athletes very much.

Plus the dosh and drive to make it happen, plus resources. Reason those Tendies nations tend to do well is that there isn't much required for RUN REALLY FAST plus black athletes are just much better runners in general.

Oh so that's why China and India just BTFO of everyone right?

Except no

There's a lot more things that matter than total population, like, funding for sports and athletics programs in schools, having professional leagues for sports, facilities for training, and an athletic culture that fosters people WANTING to play sports from a young age and training.

It's a null factor really. We're limited to sending the same number of athletes as other countries with much smaller populations. The number of athletes that can even think about trying out for the olympic team is in the thousands, not the millions even.

If you want to blame something that gives us an unfair advantage, blame our culture and schooling, that glorifies professional athletes and offers school sports leagues from as early as kindergarten tee-ball and softball and "little guy wrestling" for elementary school students. Our culture structures kids lives into sports and extra curricular activities like musical instrument lessons and dance lessons from a very young age. 4 years old? Get them Taekwondo lessons and swimming lessons and get them started in little league. Kids are participating in sports before they even go to school in some cases.

In fact, we value sports and athleticism so much, that it takes precedence over academics in universities, because college sports generate revenue for the universities that academics can't. 4.0, max SAT score, brilliant essay? Here's a $1500 scholarship and a bunch of loans. You're the star of your high school's football team, all state for all 4 years? here's a full ride scholarship, we'll make sure you get at least D's so you can graduate but you're here to play ball and make us money and maybe get into the NFL.

It's just the way our country works. India and China don't dominate despite their population "advantage" because they don't have Athlete culture.

>tfw objectively GOAT Slav nation

You don't really understand how devoted we are from birth to find a way to win.

We're still chasing after that winter biathlon. We want to kick their nordic asses badly. Kind of going off on a tangent but whatever.

Great job you did at water polo.

Oh wait....

EU triumphs even without brexitters

It's not genetic freaks, or at least that's a small part of it. It's mostly cultural. If your country has a sporting culture, they will do well.

Americans love representing our country and proving ourselves to the world. Our competitive culture and work ethic is something that creates more, and better, Olympic athletes.

I think the real problem with the Australian competitive culture in general is a massive inferiority complex coupled with how incredibly insular we are. There is no drive to integrate or compete with the rest of the world, which is why our media is full of literally whos going absolutely nowhere and why we seem averse to any new technological advancement. It's the Baby Boomer fucks keeping this country in the fucking Stone Age, it really is.

>Britains medals included in the EU tally

Into the trash it goes.

OH! Let's also not forget Title IX, which means that even if women's sports are a drain on the school, they have to get the same funding that male sports do, giving women a chance to learn competitive sports as well, which is KEY to how we do so well at the Olympics. Women practically carry us in the olympics, yeah our men do well too but the real difference between us and most the rest of the world, is women's sports.

Also, you mentioned "genetic freaks" well there's actually some truth to us having "genetic freaks" but it has nothing to do with our total population. Our genetic freaks actually come from a Minority population about the size of Australia's population... Blacks.

Why? Because this: youtube.com/watch?v=DLKvYB7CeAY#t=1m12s

Yes it's comedy, but it's actually true.

Finland I'm not horny enough to give you kids now shut up.

Most of our athletes, if there isn't a professional league to play in, aren't sponsored, and they need to either partly or fully support themselves outside of sport.

I'm going to bet that that is the case in most places in the world. Most athletes are making a living doing something else.

Let me do the math for you.

EU 79 gold, 86 silver, 93 bronze, 258 total without brits

Only a game, you dont heff to be mad

manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/manchester-olympic-rio-medal-table-11776638

What did they mean by this?

...Except the "EU" gets the benefit of having had thousands of athletes, and more chances to medal, when in reality an "all-EU Olympic team" would probably be even worse. The benefit for amalgamating athletes is likely pretty small, but there's no way for multiple EU countries to medal at the same event.

Except you have to count countries around you, that have absolutely fuck all to do with you to matter.

>WE WUZZZZ EU AND SHEEEEEEIIIT

because companies like nike, mcdonalds and coke sure don't sponsor US sports and individual athletes much

Is there a table for medals per square kilometer?

You're so fat that you'd lose in medals per kilogram

Take off the tinfoil hat dundee. For the most part there is NOBODY helping us. Gotta get some gold first.

Do what you must to ease the pain Australia.

You are emotionally unstable right now

...Because Nike, McDonalds, and Coke sure sponsor the fucking men's luge team, or the Women's field hockey team?

You think Adidas is out looking for the next Women's 10M air pistol champ?

It's not just here. I'll bet MOST athletes at the Olympics have day jobs.

Sorry you are talking of the per athlete stat, totally different discussion.

still won a medal, stay mad

except you're forgetting that separate each European Country can have x number of athletes per event, if you were competing as a single entity, you'd have a lot less athletes competing, you'd have maybe 600 total athletes, instead of thousands.

No, I'm not.

You've added up the medals of the EU countries. Fine.

However, if the EU were to compete in the Olympics, a-la the USSR or Great Britain, they would compete as a single country. Therefore, they would have a single team. Probably around 600 athletes. The US Olympic team, for reference, brought over 500 athletes to Rio, and Brazil, following the tradition of allowing the Host to compete in every event, had over 600 athletes.

Fucking REEEEEEEEEE!!!

by this table, even if the Canada join with the USA, would not reach the EU

>You have 300m potential athletes

Have you ever been to USA? 300m potential diabetics would be more accurate.

Oh look it's a talking toilet.

Such insane hurt in the butt that we took the medal count.

>b-bbbut muh EU

Allow me to dredge some care from giveafuck bay.

Why post this when it's not the final result?
I don't know about other countries, but Denmark's tally is incorrect in your picture.

>obligatory post-Olympics loser math

hahahahahaha

the sports decay canada

LOOK GUYS IF YOU SORT ALL GOLD MEDAL WINNERS BY REVERSE ALPHABETICAL ORDER TAIWAN IS #8.

REST OF THE WORLD ARE YOU EVEN TRYING?

Gold should be 5 points
Silver should be 2 points
Bronze should be 1 point

Is it just me that sees the logo as some sort of phallic device?
