What went right?

What went right?

Nothing desu.

Everything desu.

1. It was based on Alan Moore's work

That's basically it. Snyder copy and pasta'd the whole thing. It's not an adaptation if you don't take any liberties from the source material.

>excellent opening credit sequence
>soundtrack brings thematic irony to the scenes
>Dr. Manhattan origin scene is literally perfect

>No squid

You know what went right.

The film.
Sup Forumstards are too wound up focusing on
>not muh comicbook!
to open their eyes.

...

>Rorschach's casting
>Comedian's casting
>Nite Owl I's casting
>Sheer amount of background detal
>Owlship
>Comfy suit, pic related
>Intro scene (Bob Dylan)
>Soundtrack
>Dr. Manhattan's interview (I personally prefer the fact that in the film, it isn't mentioned where everybody is sent)
>Hollis Mason's death (Film truly brought this scene to life for me)
>Nite Owl II assaulting the gang member at the bar (Panic attack seems to work better in the film)
>Rorschach's death (I would have preferred Nite Owl not being there, like in the book, but I have to admit his scream was solid)

Intro and night owl death scene other than that it's miserable

>Watchmen's cliche pleb music dad rock soundtrack that took no effort was good
This is something people actually believe.

>codpiece that accurately depicts arctic shrinkage
Snyder is truly an artist

>targeted towards adults
>faithful adaptation
>good cast
>good atmosphere/cinematography
>soundtrack

It's a shame this didn't set the precedent for 18+ comic adaptations but instead it was Deadpool.

35 minute man

>soundtrack that took no effort was good
No soundtrack made of pre-existing songs would, user.

This is my favorite superhero movie.

Surprisingly a bit. I've hated every single other one of this hack's movies but a friend made me watch this and it was okay. A lot of the dialogue was wonky and it still has that Snyder thing where he treats his actors more like glorified props than people, but I was surprised how I sat through like 3 hours and it didn't feel long at all. It's got a lot of great shots, good pacing, and his style works better here than it did in like the Superman movie or whatever.

The opening sequence was good except for the trite Dylan song.

Also good:

1. Dudes hang dong
2. Gook blasting
3. 80s Nixon
4. cut the comic book kid from the movie
5. cut the goofy monster
6. QT casting choices
7. slowmo action bro
8. sexy chicks in latex and man ass galore
9. dr manhattan sequence is legit

Snyders best film easily. Ironically enough better than every MCU film combined

>don't take any liberties
>watchmen

Come on son

>sexy chicks in latex
Fucking this.

>dad rock

Almost everything. There's some dumb shit like the overly long sex scene.

>What is Jerusalem worth?

My man.

I want to dress like that

Me too

The source material was compatible with Zack's "le edgy amirite?" approach to filmmaking.

The casting of Rorschach.
