Movies Only You Liked

Movies that were either hated or ignored that you loved.

This movie is great. Great characters, beautiful animation, good music, surprisingly good story.

You are far from alone, user. I and all of my friends loved Ghostbusters 2 and we were all amazed at its bad reception.

This is such an oddly polarizing movie. It's clearly not as good as the first but I don't get the outright hate it gets from die hard GB fans.

The only thing I wasn't fond of was the overblown fight at the end.
Highlights were Ron inventing sensationalism and the parody of forced interracial pairings. Fucking died laughing when he and the black chick defiantly looked at the camera during the sex scene.

I'll get to watch it eventually. Is it an overlooked Snyderkino?

Absolutely. It's a genuinely good movie.

James Rolfe mentioned that he felt conditioned to dismiss the movie outright because of the negative reception he'd read before finally sitting down and rewatching it.

Makes me wonder how many bloggers/journalists/posters, etc. just claim to hate a movie they didn't watch or only watched years before because they feel it's the cool thing to do.

Before anyone assumes I'm dismissing every negative review, of course there are people who are legitimately not going to like it. I just wonder how many people simply bandwagon to sound like they're in touch.

...

Only thing I didn't like was the couple of licensed pop song montages that typically plagued CGI movies. Other than that it really was solid.

I thought this got a genuinely positive reception?

mixed but some people hate it with a passion just because of "it's not a 1:1 copy of muh book".

It has issues, but ultimately I think it's a enjoyable movie.

>beautiful animation
So true. It annoys me that most people prefer Angry Birds style animation to this.

Anyone with taste understands that most books cannot be adapted 1:1 due to narrative differences. The plot was intact, the style was captured, and the actors were on point. No one cars that they threw in a few modern songs for stylistic flair.

Prometheus

Kingdom of the Crystal skull

I don't love these movies but I definitely like them

Yep, I agree. I thought the casting was fantastic.

You're also right, the hate for the soundtrack became a meme at some point.

pls no bully

I want this to be a no hate zone. But those movies are really not good. I'm almost tempted to call bait.

The soundtrack was an easy scapegoat to dismiss the rest of the movie

>LOL there wasn't rap back in the 20's! 0/10 ruined for ever!

Genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen

...

I liked the Redacted fanedit since it trimmed fat that desperately needed trimming.

You haven't seen many movies.

I really wanted to like this one. But the twist is too obvious and it' too heavy handed.

it's bullshit, they tried to do a 1:! but content had to get cut.

it was a really amazing adaptation with ALL of the level of detail that was put into the visuals, regardless.

it was fantastic, and any criticism is so fucking low brow it's not even funny. It was people just not even knowing it was based off a book, and feeling like WHY WAS THIS MOVIE MAD?!?!?!

HATED IT, and I am the bond fan.
so much so
I am gonna check that out.

Those movies have issues and Indy 4 is worst in the franchise but the hate is overblown.

Those movies aren't complete dogshit imo, they're watchable but ultimately disappointing.

That doesn't mean they're unwatchable abominations.

There has to be a middle ground on these things, It can't be either GOAT or unwatchable dogshit.

It's all about expectation. Yes, compared to iron man 3/skyline Spectre is a decent movie. Compared to the James Bond legacy and the obscene amount of funding and time that was put into it, it's a disgraceful mess. There is no reason for the plot to be this incoherent, poor character development and awful pacing. Spectre fucking sucks.

I get it man, you can hate if you want but I genuinely like both of those movies. I saw Prometheus twice in theaters opening weekend, I didn't even know it was hated so much till a little later. I'm just a big Indy fan all around but I understand the hate for it, I just don't share that hate, it's the weakest in the series, I still enjoy it

>I am gonna check that out.

Worth it for getting rid of that fucking opening song alone.

a lot of those sense don't evoke any emotion and don't look great, if maybe just a little mysterious. It's a movie that just kind of gets up it's own ass too much, on top have having a lot of pointless scenes, like C, and even worse, scene with Christoph that try to have gravity, but even if you've seen the previous movies DOESN'T.

It just trips and fumble and flails around like it was a naked gun movie, without the comedy.

It's like a light comedy, without the comedy, just LIGHT.

The first 15 minutes of Skyfall trumps that movie so hard. Besides Craig is on a suicide watch because of Spectre so BTFO.

At least in the case of Indy it's hard to separate the expectation from the reality. It's like Star Wars VII; We've wanted a real sequel for so long that the bar is naturally super high. So even "ok" ends up being "bad" in our eyes.

Prometheus was good... i'll never get it, other then SHE COULD JUST RUN TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT

the deleted scenes added A LOT OF DEPTH to the movie.

Asshole Director aside, it's enjoyable.

I KNOW, AND SKYFALL IS SUCH A FUCKING BASED SONG, LIKE EVERY OTHER SONG IN THE TRILOGY

Are you taking the piss? This movie did fantastic all around.

>James Bond legacy
Considering how much of that legacy consists of most of Roger Moore's run, Quantum of Solace, Diamonds Are Forever, and Die Another Day, I'd say Spectre isn't even the worst Bond film. Not great, but definitely not the worst.

It's all about Terminator or Aliens but nobody ever mentions this fucking masterpiece. It's So. Fucking. Good.

It's ignored by Sup Forums though, people barely talk about it.

I thought this movie was a masterpiece but everyone keeps telling me it's silly bullshit and that I'm retarded for liking it

Sup Forums doesn't talk about a lot of things know does it mate?

Absolutely nobody hated Three Kings. My own mother, who fucking despises war movies, George Clooney, and niggers loved Three Kings.

wanted to shoot myself in the head sitting in the cinema watching this tripe

you have objectively shit taste

>legacy

Half the movies in the franchise are unwatchable garbage like A View to A Kill or Die Another Day, Spectre is not one of those movies my man.

Can't bitch about an unironically good movie.

Boorman in general is underrated.

You keep posting this as if it has any bearing on anything

"art is a visual medium hurr durr so let's cotton pick 9 stills and that shows how fantastic the film is"

literally neck yourself please

Well, It doesn't pander to people with ADD.

>Boorman in general is underrated
do you have any suggestions in particular ? I don't really know his works but Zardoz blew me away

IT panders to nobody because it's pure unfiltered shit

Let me remind you the film ends with Bond shooting down a helicopter with his last bullet from a pistol.

>Muh plot is the most important thing in a freaking James Bond movie

Never fucking reply to me ever again you absolute dipshit.

Excalibur and Deliverance are good places to start.

>something outlandish happens in a James Bond movie

color me surprised!

>projecting

I didn't say anything like that your fucking monkey. don't put words in my mouth you horrible ape

do you even remember that dog shit car chase scene? holy fuck just thinking about that film is giving me ptsd that's how bad it was

This is a cult classic that's for sure.

I think Spectre is the worst bond film, Die Another Day had a great opening scene and OKAY song, that actually was the first bond film to tie the title card scene into the plot.

Diamonds Are Forever is a classic, so fuck you. No Bond fan would REALLY need much to defend it as NOT the worse, hell I us eto think Thunderball was the worse until now.

Quantum of Solace was a FANTASTIC follow up to Casino Royale, and only lacked at the finale scene, but then had a great tie up of Vespers Arc, so it was kinda forgiven.

Roger Moore is legend, that alone right there shoots you in the foot. Wasn't much worse, becaue you were not expecting much.

I think we all expect more of Craig, but there was a lot of useless shit in Spectre, and a finale bond villina REINTRODUCED and gone in seconds.

Horrible way to introduce a villain. Baron Samde was better, and every other Bond Villain in Moores run was introduced and used better.

fair enough lads.

Zardoz is the fucking shit. Some fantastic Sci-Fi. It's sad Boorman doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

thanks user

kill yourself pls

They're not even good 9 sitlls, it's fucking true. Like most of it is blurry or in shadows, and even in context, were not really fucking amazing scnes.

Them standing in a desert is QoS, the Spectre meeting was fucking terrible beyond anything, that he sees bond .... never made sense....

Do you even watch the series? Stupid shit defines the bond series.

t. millennial pleb

I won't be watching the series ever again after that pure utter shit.

"it was me all along jimmy I am the evil man, now let me drill into your skull with my precision drillo for some reason"

Does this count? Most critics panned it and most people I've met didn't care for it but I fucking love it.

You have absolutely no knowledge of movies if you think Spectre is worse than A View To A Kill, Moonranker, Diamonds, or Die Another Day.

OH LOOK HE POSTED IT AGAIN.

Yeah, that scene was bad, but that's the worest of it. And we were not expecting that much from Bronson. the bar wasn't that high, and to be honest the Diamond Face villain was fucking sweet. The final doomsday canon, and the gadget were great, the fucking intro song was better then Spectres even.

6/10 isn't the worse bond movie, because after Tomorrow Never Dies, I was not expecting GREAT.

After Skyfall I was expecting great, even just par, or sub-par, not that mess.

a fucking mess, they couldn't get a single part right.

>Diamonds Are Forever is a classic, so fuck you. No Bond fan would REALLY need much to defend it as NOT the worse, hell I us eto think Thunderball was the worse until now.

I liked Diamonds, user, but you're shitting yourself and calling it chocolate if you think it was a Connery era highlight. Bond was phoning it in hard throughout and clearly didn't give a shit about the part anymore.

As for your shit taste in Roger Moore, there's no helping you. You have no idea what constitutes a good bond film and really have no place discussing the series. Roger Moore was a good Bond in the same way that Adam West was a good Batman. Moore was a parody at best.

the brady bunch movie

Can all of the Bond fags shut up and go back to their bond threads?

yup. that does count. it was a cooler CGI heavy Fast and Furious, and frankly I can't even imagine how it could have been done better if not for just some editing mistakes.

Bette then Dragon Ball Evolution... if that was done even to this quality it would have had a sequel.

>a fucking mess, they couldn't get a single part right.

You should just stop watching Bond movies if you think the likes of fucking Octopussy was better than Spectre.

Just look at this opening, it's makes no fucking sense.

It's fine if you think Spectre is bad but it's OBJECTIVELY better than Die Another Day.

anyone?

I have never seen a non-FF Paul Walker movie because he is not a good actor.

I fucking visibly cringed when Bulma said "Huh... D.B.E.... cool name." It was by far the most painful to watch title drop I have ever witnessed.

...

How in the shit does this have an 84%?

Or even better go throw their internet modem in the fucking trash can

View To a Kill with Christopher Walken? The worse part was Payday looking so butch...

Moonraker. THE FINALE TO JAWS, THIS SCENE ALONE PROVES YOU WRONG, LOOK AT THE SHIT, THAT'S FUCKING AWESOME!!!!

Diamonds is a classic, and the song is Bonds most famous song...

Die Another Day was good until and except for the arctic, but everything else was perfect.

LOOK AT THAT SHIT MAN, MOONRAKER???!?!?! BAD!?!?!?!?!!

COME ON.

fair enough

t. Bondfag

>bullet goes into the fucking barrel

Goddamn I need to watch that piece of shit again just to laugh at it. Did the fucking team think that was a scope?

>that scene with Vera Farmiga in a thong

Man, can't remember how many times I fapped to that.

It's a good flick though, reminds me of Mad Max as in action never stops.

SWEET DREAMS

Because it's a good movie you fucking child

BECAUSE KING KONG FIGHTS NOT ONE, BUT TWO FUCKING T-REX'S

HOW IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION?

ARE YOU A FAGGOT?

But why do people like what I don't like?
Waaaaaaa!

>Moonraker. THE FINALE TO JAWS, THIS SCENE ALONE PROVES YOU WRONG, LOOK AT THE SHIT, THAT'S FUCKING AWESOME!!!!

You're an idiot.

>Diamonds is a classic, the song is Bonds most famous song...

That's not Live and Let Die.

>Die Another Day was good until and except for the arctic, but everything else was perfect.

You are literally worse than the >craig >bond shitposter.

>LOOK AT THAT SHIT MAN, A SAD ATTEMPT TO CASH IN ON STAR WARS' SUCCESS???!?!?! BAD!?!?!?!?!!

Yep.

One of the most intense theater experiences I've ever had.

There is nothing to like about this.

youtube.com/watch?v=bQi0exghRTg

Die Another Day isn't bad. I could watch it a few times without getting bored, but Spectre I don't even want to watch that lazy fucking title card song. To see the movies fall back into the old tropes.

Ugh....

Die Another Day had a lot more original stuff it was trying to work into it, instead of falling back onto lazy writting. It knew that a lot of it was corn fed trash at that point and this was going to be the last campy bond movie.

For the time, it was good. Spectre, for it's time, is bad.

Tv shows surpass that quality.

I can easily say the first bond movies made were the worse, unless you hold them up to the times...

Spectre runs like a bad NCIS episode. At least Die Another Day still felt like a movie, not just a Netflix Original.

Hard to believe the plot, but I too enjoyed the film.

Yeah it had plot holes and problems. But the acting was good and it had style for days.

that's where you're wrong my friend.

The Brothers Bloom
Speed Racer
The Double

GOD DAMNIT I LOVE MOORE. it got bad near the end, but it wasn't even terrible, it was just him being to old for the scenes and that's kind of interesting. I really think Sean Connery should have been bond through out the entire franchise. It would have been more interesting to see Bond age...

I didn't like how he became The Flash.

the only good thing in that movie is Tilda Swinton and even then she's doing a shitty job compared to what she's used to
IMO

Die Another Day is an Austin Powers movie.

Now let's just stop flooding the thread with Bond stuff.

SHE HAS THE BUTT OF A PONY, OMFG YEAH.
