may i ask how well versed you are with animecore?
I need more kaneda's theme-like songs. percussion on that is absolutely incredble
youtube.com/watch?v=hpDvtIt6Lsc

I'm not overly familiar with a lot of anime music, other anons could probably help you with that.

Akira's soundtrack is pretty unique, especially Kaneda's theme, seems to be Gamelan music though from he short research I've done, so you could always look in that direction.

appreciate your effort friend. i'll look up gamelan

...

I need to update my chart fug
7L & Esoteric - Dangerous Connection
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra / Kronos Quartet / Robert Spano / Luciana Souza / Dawn Upshaw - Oceana; Tenebrae; Three Songs
Wendy Carlos - Beauty in the Beast

bump

Jerome's dream - completed 1997-2001

Can you rec me some experimental hip hop?
I rec you
2 low key - test my nuts

nice chart

washed out - within and without
methyl ethel - oh inhuman spectacle
the radio dept - lesser matters
ride - nowhere

it looks like you already have DG on your list, who are probably the most prominent experimental hip-hop act right now.

other than that, here's a list of some personal favorites and some classic experimental hip-hop:

noise rap (other than DG):
dalek - abscence
k-the-i???? - yesterday, today and tomorrow
clipping. - midcity
food for animals - belly

abstract hip-hop:
aesop rock - labor days
cannibal ox - the cold vein
el-p - i'll sleep when you're dead
illogic - celestial clockwork
armand hammer - race music
milo - so the flies don't come
elucid - save yourself

genre-hopping production:
p.o.s - never better
why? - alopecia
shabazz palaces - black up
anti-pop consortium - arrhythmia
young fathers - tape one
clouddead - clouddead
flanch - flanch ep

crazy rhyming:
busdriver - roadkill overcoat (really any driver album)
mf doom - mm...food (really any doom album)
aesop rock - none shall pass (really any aes album after this one)

non-us releases:
roots manuva - run come save me
kate tempest - everybody down
constructus corporation - the ziggurat
shing02 - 歪曲

sorry if that's a little overwhelming. i tried to sort it by its qualities and where it shines the most.

also, i attached the Sup Forums experimental hip-hop chart. pretty sure this is the most recent one.

Holy shit thanks dude! Ive actually listened to most of these but theres some stuff that i havent listened to so ill check those out

bump

Why are these threads so dead lately. Its a saturday night what else do people have to do other than browse Sup Forums

We have a lot of similar stuff, I think you would like Nick Cave
And you, check out Foetus if you haven't.

If you like Spiderland, you should check out the last two Talk Talk albums.
King Crimson - Ladies of the Road
Genesis - Selling England by the Pound

Ladies of the Road is good but the abomination of a second disc ruined it for me

die!

Try tracking down either King Crimson - Summit Studios 1972 or King Crimson - Live in Detroit 1971. They are two very different snapshots of the Island's era group on the road.

Will do, the Island era Mars on Live in Detroit intrigues me.

when you pull up in that...
and i pull up in this

The heck is that supposed to mean user?

fucking queer
