may i ask how well versed you are with animecore?
I need more kaneda's theme-like songs. percussion on that is absolutely incredble
youtube.com
I'm not overly familiar with a lot of anime music, other anons could probably help you with that.
Akira's soundtrack is pretty unique, especially Kaneda's theme, seems to be Gamelan music though from he short research I've done, so you could always look in that direction.
appreciate your effort friend. i'll look up gamelan
...

it looks like you already have DG on your list, who are probably the most prominent experimental hip-hop act right now.
other than that, here's a list of some personal favorites and some classic experimental hip-hop:

k-the-i???? - yesterday, today and tomorrow
clipping. - midcity
food for animals - belly

armand hammer - race music
milo - so the flies don't come
elucid - save yourself
genre-hopping production:

shabazz palaces - black up
anti-pop consortium - arrhythmia
young fathers - tape one
clouddead - clouddead
flanch - flanch ep
crazy rhyming:

If you like Spiderland, you should check out the last two Talk Talk albums.
King Crimson - Ladies of the Road
Genesis - Selling England by the Pound
Ladies of the Road is good but the abomination of a second disc ruined it for me
die!
Try tracking down either King Crimson - Summit Studios 1972 or King Crimson - Live in Detroit 1971. They are two very different snapshots of the Island's era group on the road.
Will do, the Island era Mars on Live in Detroit intrigues me.
when you pull up in that...
