write down literally everything you think sounds passable, and never cross it out
you never know when you suddenly get that moment where you see that something fits, plus I find it motivational to re-read old stuff and see where I am now

How do you guys go through writing a song?
I've always wanted to but I can never get anything flowing. Not a concept, not anything at all. Sometimes I'm strumming my guitar and sometimes something nice pops up and I end up repeating it for hours but putting words into it would feel forced, and I end up never writing anything. Am I just completely talentless?

nope, your just not confident enough to follow through, write down all the words you thin even if they are forced, and then refine and then repeat

songs then words. usually leads to the words being pretty bad and crammed in

i guess some tips on how to write better words if its done after the music. i find it so hard to make them fit the melody
would you guys say the other way round is better?

i dont promote to friends so i can make it as personal as i like
a few people who know i make stuff have tracked it down and said nice things tho
i defiantly think this is the way to write a complete album that works as a whole piece. if you dont everything will usually end up all over the place
this is exactly what i used to do
its not till recently that i start forcing myself to do words so i could get things done
id say the best tip is, whenever you feel literally anything think about how you could make it a song
it doesn't really have to be interesting to get the ball rolling
i find myself secretly happy whenever something emotional happens to me cause it mean i can maybe extract a song from it
as i say ive only started doing this recently and heres the results so far
