I was talking to a black chick the other day and she asked me if I was getting tickets to the tech n9ne show. I laughed because I thought she was joking and she didn't understand why I thought it was so funny.

>paying money to see a black guy talk fast over pre-recorded backing tracks that he didn't even make
You should have been the one laughing at her.

>Hopsin
>DID THE MAN WHO INVENTED COLLEGE GO TO COLLEGE? HM, OKAY DEN.

Yelawulf

nice reading comprehension

>Young Thug
>Cant choose
I really can't choose because i go back and forth between different songs
A few weeks ago i was all about Floyd Mayweather and now i'm feeling Big Racks

Why did the big racks video get taken down from youtube?

lmao

Can someone explain to me why there is so many people on here who like Young Thug. I've never really been into him, but I want to know why people like him.

People who like Young Thug fall into 2 categories.

>ironic shitposters
>the most normie 15 year olds you can imagine with absolute no knowledge of music whatsoever

not him but:
I like how well his weird voice and flow blends with the backing instrumentals

youtube.com/watch?v=xoF4U8a-21E

It's seriously cuck shit. His lyrics are unintelligible and he's always off-beat. It's just music for white kids who want to hear a black person make noises over some beats.

I don't fall into either of these but this is the reason i like him It's nothing lyrical
He just gets on that boof and makes it sound good

>gets on that boof and makes it sound good
>not a normie 15 year old with absolutely no knowledge of music

Can confirm, i like young thug ironnicly

i wouldn't mind being a normie 15 year old
Sorry our tastes in noises doesn't match up

>idiosyncratic, melodic rapping
>rides the beat better than anyone else in rap
>uses his the lyrics and sound of the words to give the song texture

honestly he's probably the best rapper since big

I knew you were underage.
Anybody who likes Young Thug is either an ironic memer or an underage pleb.

>rides the beat
He's always off beat. His timing sucks.
>sound of his words give the song texture
So pretty much this? You just like to hear black people making weird noises.

>he's always off beat

what is syncopation

Yeah, I studied music in college too. Stop trying to use technical terms to justify Young Thug's inability to stay in time.
I swear, hip hop is the laziest fucking genre with the lowest standards of quality.

>lyrics have to be intelligible

what a trash opinion. what are cocteau twins. what is sigur rose. who is arthur russel

>Flatbush Zombies
>Regular and Complex

Smokepurpp - On Me
Smokepurpp - Ski Mask
Smokepurpp - Terror
Smokepurpp- Wokhardt

>vocals dom't matter in a vocal-centered genre
Sigur Ros and Cocteau Twins succeed because their music is layered and ethereal. It puts me in a dream like state. The vocals become just another layer of sound.

Hip-Hop instrumentals are purposely stripped down and minimal and frankly boring, in order to put emphasis on the vocals. The artist is Young Thug. He doesn't use a band name, like Sigur Ros or Cocteau Twins. He uses a stage name, like a solo artist. The music is about him, and if he is unintelligible and constantly off beat, it fucking sucks.

>tfw tech N9ne is the typical virtuoso artist.
>Great Technical ability, but pure cringe songwriting.

Nobody in hip hop has a better body of work than El-P
>dense and technical lyricism, stacked with wordplay and thematic consistency, both cartoonish and thoughtful
>blends sci-fi electronic beats with eclectic sampling and classic lo-fi hip hop, deep and obvious respect for the genre
>released one project and got signed to Rawkus, the same label as Mos Def and Talib Kweli
>parted ways with Rawkus to co-found his own successful record label at age 24
>collaborated with a lot of the best underground hip hop acts from 2001 to now
>just now hitting his peak of fame and relevance
>indie cred for days

this is a gud song

Canibus - Poet Laureate II

Sean Price
Not the most technical rapper, but GOAT punchlines, solid career (Heltah Skeltah, Boot Camp Click, Solo), kills any song he guest appears on (Jedi Mind for example). Solid freestyler.

I dare you to find a track that goes harder than boom bye yeah

I used to sell crack and listen to Redman
Now I smoke black, while I'm getting some head, damn
Sean Price, always broker than most
That's why the gunsmoke choke in your throat
Stick 'em up
Put your hands where my eyes can see
Yo, this ain't Busta Rhymes, BAM!
Bust a nine, BAM!
Roughest and toughest, so don't fuck with mine
I will, snuff 'em and cut 'em, before he fuck with mine, yo

Great taste. Em's old tracks from the early 90s are like 10x better than the trash that he's putting out nowadays. Infinite and SSEP are overlooked by most Eminem fans.

This pretty much sums up Tech perfectly, though I still love him some of his songs are hard to listen to because of his lyrics. He has definitely gotten worse over the years with the cringe though, Anghellic is a solid album with minimal cringe.
