Joy Division 2bh, I never really found any New Order stuff I loved outside of a few tracks here and there. Their albums lacked the atmosphere I liked in the JD albums.
Joy Division.
post rare Joy Division/Ian Curtis photos
I have an entire book full of rare ians
what was the book called
the smiths
morrissey is a fucking faggot
yes and?
I like Low-Life more than anything by Joy Division but like both Joy Division albums more than anything else by New Order.
I guess it about evens out
Book Full Of Rare Ians
Joy Division is better, but I prefer New Order for casual listening.
New Order, tbqh
Unknown Pleasures > Closer
Joy Division has the two best albums of the two bands, but New Order probably has 7 or so of the two group's ten best songs.
Ceremony counts as a New Order song btw
Joy division when they were punk > Joy division > New order
This is an objective truth that all must learn.
That nazi aesthetic is so fucking brilliant, wish they did more with it.
The cure>joy division>smiths>>>>>>>>>>new order
Joy Division because I'm a miserable motherfucker.
Killing Joke, The Cure
t. edgy teenager
Joy Division is much better. Ians vocals are way too iconic to miss out on
That's the thing though, it's so edgy but they did it so well.
Besides, Joy Division is basically edgy teenager incarnate
Too many plebes like joy division, i see its importance to music history, but liking joy division in 2017 is like the equivalent of some dumb bimbo wearing a misfits shirt
I think new order is too popy and simple for hipster shitters.
I always liked them though.
Technique is the best

You can just feel the 80's 90's electronic scene dripping off of it.
>Ian's vocals
>iconic
I love JD as much as the next guy, but Ian's vocals are nothing special. He's aping Jim Morrison and a lot of bands at the time went on to make that vocal style famous in Brit-rock e.g. Morissey, Depeche Mode, etc. For me, the most outstanding element of Joy Division's music has always been Peter Hook's bass, and he goes on to rock most of New Order's catalogue with it
Electronic is better than both, though
He's aping Iggy Pop if anyone, but the Iggy was often aping Morrison so who really knows. His voice is really unique though. Morrissey wasn't at all similar to Ian so i have no idea what you're on about there.
pics or you don't
Morrison was just ripping off frank sinatra.
Its called crooning you plebes.
>Ceremony counts as a New Order song btw
No.
Ian was apparently obsessed with Iggy's The Idiot. I know it's a meme since it was the last thing he listened to before he died, but he just really liked the album. I remember reading a few interviews with the New Order guys where they said Ian made them all listen to it when they first practiced at his house. He probably was really influenced by Iggy's style.
people who believe what you do are only allowed to listen to the joy division version then
Joy Division
you have shit taste
actually you do
both of you do.
this
New Order are one of my favorite bands of all time
I usually forget Joy Division existed even though I listened to all their albums and comps before getting into New Order
I enjoy Joy, but New Order is better
This. Also, New Order would be a lot better with Ian.
New Order >>>>>>>>> Warsaw > Joy Division
New Order
Joy Division is more of a historical artifact than something I'd listen to for enjoyment.
Switch new order and the smiths and you'd be correct
Yeah you're right, i mean i don't know for sure but according to that movie they made about them it was pretty clear that Curtis was really into Iggy and Bowie, aswell as Lou. He is pretty much a mix of those three is you look at his live performances. The dancing is like a maniacal version of the thin white duke dance, the singing is a melancholy crooning, which is pretty much what lou + Iggy would be.
New Order released two of the Top 20 albums of the 1980's decade
Joy Division didn't even release Top 50 albums of 1979 or 1980
>I like neither yet I came into this thread to share my opinion
top 50 according to you? ok
Joy Division
To be fair, those were strong years in music but still, the two bands don't even compare
Bauhaus
The Birthday Party
no, Bauhaus
Obviously Joy Division. Ian had the dignity of literally ending everything after making two masterpieces.
Joey Division
>this is what rockists genuinely believe
New order knows how to masterfully craft a sweet poppy tune, that's why I love em
haha lol
whats the best bauhaus album? i need someplace to start
People are going to tell you In the Flat Field
listen to them because they're right
mask then in the flat field
well I feel Mask has more in common witj JD then In the flat field, bit more friendlier
New Order.
this desu. the best NO album is the first one with the JD leftovers
cheers!
Good, the Joy Division version is 1000x better and I would love Substance so much more if they used that one instead
>aesthetic
