I usually just look at other peoples charts, get recs or browse rateyourmusic.

Today Is the Day - Willpower
Butthole Surfer - Locust Abortion Technician

Nujabes - Metaphorical Music & Modal Souls

I never have anything to rec for you, but I like your new color coded chart.

...

this is a list of music I've listened to recently that I've given 2.5 or higher on RYM

Amazing taste, in music and girl

stay safe, also what's that album with the squirrel?

i find music on RYM, through friends, and occasionally last.fm

the only shows I go are pretty good: Baroque & experimental/modern classical, something I can't be arsed to listen to at home. Only "free" shows tho, I'm poor AF...
RYM lists are good for finding 'new' music
>Hiele - Ritmische Bezinning

this looks so random holyshit
tonstarssbandht is playing in my town next week: should I go see them?

have you listened to Hank Mobley's Dipping'?
there are no shows in my country

thanks buddy, stay safe too, the album is Purl - Form Is Emptiness. It's ambient techno very minimal and dreamy

Someone on the older thread said I should absolutely check out Arca. Maybe it was you.

This is what I've listened to lately, nothing extremely obscure.

>Anyone going to any shows soon?
I wish. The most recent show I went to was clipping, and they were fucking amazing. Of course this was before all the Hamilton stuff happened, so I don't know what kind of crowd you'd see at a clipping concert anymore, but they put on a great show. Daveed is remarkably talented. He can spit his verses live just like on the recording.

My favorite part was when he announced "You guys wanna hear a story?" And then they closed the set with Story 1 and 2.

>How do you usually find your music?
Honestly just album surfing on youtube, or going to wikipedia. With the exception of Nick Drake, pretty much all of my favorite albums I discovered through pretty typical means. My dad got me into music at a pretty early age, so this was never a hard thing for me. I listen to a lot of full albums on youtube, and then just click the other full albums in the side bar. rym is pretty cool. I used to use that "related artists" feature on last.fm a lot, because a lot of the bands I like have a really particular sound that I'd like to find more of. Then of course I just play catch up with classics and shit like that. Which isn't hard because everyone talks about them.

please tell me this is bait

Try discovering new music outside of Sup Forums. I mean that with sincerity, not just trying to talk shit.

This is honestly a boss ass chart. Never seen so much pop on a Sup Forumstant's chart. Cher and Bowie? Floyd and Doors? Lady Gaga and Bjork? My man knows whats up.

>Asuka is your waifu
>Shit taste
Good taste in music though. Check these out if you don't know about them yet.
>Glassjaw-Worship and Tribute
>Baroness-Red Album
>Dr. Octogon-Dr. Octagonecologyst

>any shows soon?
Sadly i was short on money to go see the Descendents
>how do you find your music?
a mix of lucky youtube recommendations, this shithole, and soulseek lucky random finds
Giles Corey - S/T
The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Venetian Snares - Songs About my Cats
Trips Checked
The Angelic Process - Wheighing Souls with Sand
Syd Barret - S/T

Okay
This is bait

Good, I can breathe now

>Maybe it was you.
nope.
but did you liked Arca? I really like the whole scene (PAN, Astral Plane, EcoFuturism, etc) but Arca is the only one who adds emotions in this kind of usual bass/sound-collage music
>Actress - ghettoville
>Machinedrum - Room(s)

If, Bwana - Red One
complete Eno
Tim Hecker - Stories Of Love

>Shit guys that was close, someone on Sup Forums almost disagreed with me

>nope.
>but did you liked Arca?
I haven't checked it out yet, this convo happened today at 1am, it's 9:36am now, I'll check it out later today.

We got lucky

You sure love krautrock

I've only ever seen UMO live. Wish I had gig buddies to go with, everyone is a basic bitch.

> Jackson C. Frank
> the wikipedia page

>anyone going to any shows soon?
My gf and I are seeing Xiu Xiu this month!!
I am on a bit of a budget right now, but I may also see Nick Cave in a few months
Maybe The Zombies touring Odessey and Oracle, if my friends are game
Ususally find my music through RYM, /chart/, my friends

Nice Nick Cave choice
check out Sergio Mendes

Do you like Elvis Depressedly?

That was me man, reply with your thoughts

Nadja - Touched
Circle - Miljard. Awesome chart btw
Huntsville - Eco, Arches and Eras

thanks you too

need more soundcollage stuff, similar to my chart

+++Goslings
+++Boredoms

Amazing Taste
Try Syr 5 by Kim Gordon, Ikue Mori & DJ Olive if you haven't already.

Temporary Forever by Busdriver

Listen to much George Crumb?

That's all I have for now, I'll come back with more recs.

bump

daphne oram - oramics
brian eno - here come the warm jets
no trend

What's good, everyone. These jams are what's happening with me. Also been digging a lot of Bach and Vivaldi recently, but don't feel the need to have them there on the chart.

I don't get why you guys don't just copy paste the pastebin link in the very beginning of all your posts. It would be so much easier for others that way.

Robbie Basho - Zarthus

Don't know much about sound collage. Only things in my library that RYM calls sound collage are Ikeda's Dataplex and NWW's Homotopy To Marie.

But if you like that Lemon Kittens, may I recommend:

...And The Native Hipsters - There Goes Concorde Again

Cool mix of surreal stuff, grooves, and pop. I'll have to recommend Amorphous Androgynous' A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble series as it has similarities to some of the more psychedelic stuff on your chart plus also the more /bleep/ stuff as well.

How does one have a taste centered around noise rock, psychedelic, and Japanese stuff yet not have Acid Mother's Temple in there?

La Novia
New Geocentric World Of Acid Mothers Temple

Are what I would recommend. Maybe even their take on Terry Riley's minimalist work In C might be to your fancy as well.

>It would be so much easier for others that way.
its 8 characters, its less typing than a captcha

>implying captchas haven't been changed to mostly clicking for the same reasons
I can't remember the last time I had a typing one on this site.

>he uses image captchas
o i am laffin

>he uses
>implying I am Sup Forums...
>even then implying that image captchas aren't the future
Get with the times, grandpa

I'm really bad at Recs since I'm so basic and normie-tier.

I missed my chance to go to a bomb-ass Chicago + Earth Wind & Fire concert. Feels bad man.

>Coltrane
>Yamashita

Based, but probably can't recommend anything that you haven't listened to. Maybe try some Young Blood Brass Band?

>>implying I am Sup Forums...
what

im dumb

You must be from some third world country, cuz all of us here in the best countries have moved onto image captchas

...

i like rap(e)

Indiscernible taste in this thread. No one here is even worth the time to respond to.

Not like I expected any different from a board of poptimists.

what's the second album top left

sure is easy to find new music when i can't tell what any of those albums are

Haven't listened to too much of their stuff, but I've liked what I've heard. I'd probably put IAO Chant on my chart to be honest, Cosmic Inferno is my favorite iteration. Pink Lady Lemonade is great too. Thanks!

>beat happening s/t
good choice
black tambourine - complete recordings

>154
>pylon
nice
if you haven't heard it, listen to chomp, it's even better than gyrate

try the beach boys albums between smiley smile and surfs up, inclusive
i'll admit it's uneven, but there's some really great stuff in there

>the byrds
love them
fairport convention maybe? liege and lief is really good

*sorts by esoteric*
....whoah....

...

Try broadcast

This is the first chart in a while where i haven't been able to recognize a single album. Would you mind recommending me something?

Interpol - turn on the bright lights

Very edgy taste. I like it, except rtj3
Try dalek or blackie or k-the-i???

not gonna rec now cos I'm supposed to be doing two physics problem sets (at least 10h each) for tomorrow... so you see I get myself into this sort of situation rather too regularly.

no gigs.. my taste isn't supported very well. all the classical concerts are bach, brahms, beethoven, mozart... I'm going to a swedish folk session next week though. should be good.
I find my stuff on a mixture of youtube and discogs.

>savage young taterbug
kiss me u fool

what is albums? pls to halp

Everything that boi releases is great

Codeine - Frigid Stars

The Pains of Being Pure At Heart - s/t

Surely you've heard of Plunderphonix

Le Couleur - Voyage Love

Black Mountain Transmitter - Black Goat of The Woods

Will check em

The Spoils of War - s/t

Fox Academy - Luxury Beverage

Priests - Nothing Feels Natural
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
Fugazi - Repeater
Glad to see Sarah Records represented. Such an underrated label.
One Day as a Lion - One Day as a Lion EP
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Music Vol 1
you look like you want to approach electronic music but are clueless. Hope this helps.
Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
The Beatles - Revolver and Abbey Road

These were my most listened to records last week. recs please. Don't care if i've heard it before.

Love the new chart user!

...

Pt 1

this was a great chart until i saw death of pablo and deduced it all most simply be aesthete or mistake
do keep trying though

this is good music

meh

you better be really fucking white

prob a really good person for mainstream pop

some great stuff on here
some really bad stuff on here

it isn't evenbad really i just couldn't care for the whole industrial/coil worship

calm down dude

*sheds a single tear*

turn it down dude
and fuck that anime garbage

prob a nice guy

i thought your background is duster
never listen to duster
you'd prob like duster

k

nobody can fucking read that shamepai

that is the worst gas

collages are shit for my eyes but i glanced and it wasnt even THAT bad

if i could remove animal collective from the history of music i would without a doubt
theyd prob be my #1 removed band
actually no id remove gospeed first
but an co would be tempting

ive always hated this chart

i wouldnt even hate this if you picked the right danny which is any release other than that one

p bad honestly
father john misty might be hidden but if you enjoy that guy at all your taste is prob a twat

yeah sure whatever

interesting but a bit boring
not too boring
but just a bit
like a teaspoon of boring

you are another one of "those"

there arent enough albums on here for me to get a good pictre iS but imo s/t macha is better if i remember correctly

this would make a better top 50
but like you prob need to think about what albums you actually like

this is so fucking white and edgy
and i dont even like to use the word edgy

life really isnt that hard for you is it?

i dont like the ordering of your pics but they are generally good

Pt 2

this would be an interesting resource for new music if you weren't a twat and put the album names
otherwise thoser like super cool pictures

*hops up and down*

this is fucking awful and i still like half of the albums on this thing

this is the worst flavor of music fan
hands down

when you get so shpongled that you make a collage for ants
prob not bad if i could see it

0/10
hope you try next time

disgusting spacing
olive drab is underutilized around here so that is neat
but otherwise...
hi "dad"

nothing else to add to THAT

>le i listen to trap, indie rock and jazz, im so eclectic xD meme

>k-the-i

This is some pretty cool stuff. Love hip hop with slightly "IDM" and noisy tinges to them.

Check out Jack Rose's Raag Manifestos

>Black Mountain Transmitter - Black Goat of The Woods
It's like sorta Ben Frost, Lovecraft edition. Very cool. Thanks.

You might appreciate Whores.' Ruiner as well, it's like the noise rock on your chart but with heavy parts.

>this is so fucking white
Nah, I am pajeet. Some of us tend to like noisy, abrasive stuff particularly metal, we kinda get attracted to the genre since lyrics never really mattered to you in the first place.

>and i dont even like to use the word edgy
No reason not to call my jams edgy. I prefer popular music with a lot of viscerally intense energy in it, and that for sure requires some amount of edge.

Btw, sanic, is that you?

Death of Pablo was good though.

naw that nigga me

>prob not bad if i could see it

>what is "open link in new tab"?

>Priests - Nothing Feels Natural
thankee
have you heard much pinback? personally I prefer "blue screen life" to abaddon

literally the wet dream of a Sup Forumskid high schooler
i just can't condone it sorry

>what is "open link in new tab"?
are we on jeopardy now?
still small dude
im saying your composition is also poor
no way im going to bother with that

Pt 3

great chart

did you listen to it though? I thought it was a great dark ambient album, loved the effort of the members on it's production and it played like a child like nightmarescape, I picture it to describe the thoughts and emotions of Kanye right after the death of his mother, with the psuedo dadism on the second track.
TL;DR it was good, and you should listen.

Yeah sure, sanic. Don't worry, it'll be our secret ;^)

i want to say mean things like "pseud"
or "wow you actually wrote that"
but i thought about all the half serious paragraphs ive written about tool
and was like
to each their own
still tho
i saw that first post about that project and kind of gagged

sanic only likes rock music

Stop denying it, sanic. At least half of those records (most of them being those exact ones) are on your other chart. I know what kind of sneaky stuff you're trying to pull! It's okay, we won't judge you for adding pleb tier grime like Babyfather nor pleb tier "classical" like Part. The Tool and Korn were already embarrassing enough!

18 of the albums on my chart are on his top 100
i was friends with him irl and have spoken to him online for quite a while
i'm not him tho
the only hip-hop he touches is mystic stylez
i don't think he;s listened to electronic other than the orb or whatever they are
not sanic sorry!

>either delusional
>or dickriding your own friend this hard
Lmao

I tried

also playing a show saturday night, wish me luck boys

did i reply to your chart with something rude?
also every album we have in common are highly rated by scaruffi
so p sure that is where you are getting the similarities from
also your greentexting made that confusing

>admitting to being a Scaruffi drone
Lmao

it'll be fine, people just go to concerts to get drunk with cheap beers

Pinback is probably one of my favorites. I think they're incredibly underrated. Blue Screen is really good, but Abaddon just can't be beat. There's a lot attached to that record for me, so I'm sure I'm biased. Rob Crow is incredibly consistent with his output and has this really unique style and sense of melody. I can't understand why he is always under-written.

Low - I Could Live In Hope

GZA/Genius - Liquid Swords

yeah this is like my 9th show w this band, 4th at the same venue i think
im looking forward to it
im not the biggest low fan, even though they really should be perfect for me

I usually get recs from chart threads or look through old share threads in the archives

what ive been listening to this week

Since I'm bad with recs, I'm just going to say stuff about people.

I don't know mate, I just do.
Change your name to mom, please.
The sad guy that isn't actually sad.
More than one person have called you "contrarian".
Spends more time on the Internet than almost anyone ITT.
Ok, no taste then.
You never cared about playing guitar, you always liked more something else.
Likes nature and all that stuff.
You are humble.
You're bad with sarcasm.
Dude, is that Comic-Sans?
You hated school, for some reason not even you know.

recommendations please?
I want to branch out

>Dude, is that Comic-Sans?
It's called Memeland Pro on the website. Not sure if it's exactly Comic-Sans, but it's definitely close to it. I chose it since it makes the records easier to read, even though I do personally prefer the cleaner aesthetics of the other fonts available.

Oh and Kyuss arguably has the best riffs of a band that's not considered metal (though I do know some people debate this.)

Keiji Haino & Sitar Taah! - Animamima

Since you asked nicely,

Merchandise - Children Of Desire
Jam City - Classical Curves
Halha - 20 Years Of Downwards

Where can I listen to that yamashita album
