already checc'd, so recc'd
really really interesting rhythm and synth work, love how the vocals and other melodies and what not intertwine at parts
sounds like a mix between the twin peaks soundtrack and an 80s synthpop sound, lovely
really open and relaxing feel to it, nice singing and guitar stuff
awesome guitar tone, not my style of singing but it works really well with the music
reminds me almost of AE ambient pieces, specially songs like the title track

I will try to check some camps here, but the truth is that a lot of them I already gave a listen and gave anons my thoughts about it
this is certainly a well made album, damn good
Listening to this right now
totally does have a Twin Peaks vibe
would love to see the film
just wanted to say thanks for liking Descent, I'll listen to your newest release and gib feedback soon
this is VERY GOOD *ambient fistbump*
The Anthill really reminds me of pilotredsun's music in a way, I really love that internet-era lo-fi melodic synth stuff (can't think of an accurate enough name for it)
Haven't heard of that guy
Ooo actually been looking for stuff more like this. Good after-some-drinkin music.

This is great too, I love the quietness of it, and all of the hidden melodic qualities as well. Some of the better ambient stuff i've seen here.

RECS:
Love the drum programming, the synths are kind of uninteresting and sound like they're playing random notes in a scale at times though. I also heard what might be peaking but could also be intentional.

- this is really sick, youve got actual production talent. DESU i thought TDOP was a stupid gimmick at first but it is actually a really interesting project as well. you have your own lane.

Got a new album out feb 14th!
First song was pretty boring desu but glad that I skipped to you bury me because that was pretty good. DESU this style of music has been done to death for me so personally I just find exploring it further a little bland but it's definitely done tastefully and the vocals are excellent.
>6.5/10
Artistic but just kind of sounds like Kid A without song structure or good vocals or drums. Every song just sounds like an interlude into another song, desu it's almost like non-music but not in a good, captain-beefheart way, like a very boring way.
>4/10
Immediate reaction is, OH FUCK YEAH THIS IS GOOD! You're super talented and the tribal drums are a unique sound. Just listening to this makes me happy.

Wew that criticism of ross hudson was awful. Do you not know what ambient music is?
I know what boring music is. Ambient music can be interesting and sound like it took effort, that was neither.

LET ME AT 'EM
any tips on doing dungeon synth? i want to give it a try sometime!
Dungeon synth is a type of midicore.
Get yourself a cheap casio and lots of reverb
Try listening to the Burzum albums Varg recorded in prison for inspiration
The two recent Nebulosa albums or John Carpenter soundtracks would be your best bet for inspiration, if you ask me (). While the Burzum stuff are quite popular, I think they're a bit boring and unvaried.
Personally, the above two however make me nostalgic about pre-teen D&D sessions, Twin Peaks, or 80's and early 90's cinema - and for me, that's the essence of DS.
thanks, ill check them out and see what i can do
My friend's band, he plays the guitar. It's pretty normie-tier classic rock/doom metal but it's pretty good, they have one album and it's pretty good also.
sexistains69.bandcamp.com
tell me we're shit
your are shit
Thanks
You should go for it man! A big tip I can offer is don't spend all of your time looking for "the right" soundfont or synth tone. The time you spend rummaging around for different soundfonts could be spent just making music.
Also, don't be afraid to add your own spin on the dungeon synth formula. Lately, there has been a lot of variation in the dungeon synth community. From the sweeping and grandiose work of Chaucerian Myth, the minimalistic and eeriness of Blood Tower, to the heavy psych/drone of Erdstall, there is a lot of room for variation.

Yeah! ill try to compose some old doom style dungeon synth (d&d inspired).
Not today, but soon.
BTW! fun trivia: Chaucerian Myth has my bandcamp in his recommendations!
Those are valid comments. The music is boring, it's meant to be. It is music without context, the context is yours to provide. I don't even like listening to it on it's own that much. Go for a walk while listening to it. Put the radio on in the background, talk to your friend on the phone. It is 'boring' on purpose - it lacks the most important part which is you (the listener)...
That's pretty cool! Have you posted your bandcamp in this thread?
I dig this a lot. Love the vinyl crackling grittiness, and the samples. When the string section came in on Went, damn that was just right.
I knew this album was going to be great!
Liked this too. Lyrics are prolific, vocals and music are exciting to listen to, and the production is lo-fi and raw.
Fucking great chillwave shit right here. Synths got me all woozy feeling. Listening to this makes me feel like it's 2011 again and I'm at the beach.
