jesus christ rocktards, stop it with the gagillion fucking subgenre labelling

Why? I think it's one of my favourite math rock records, but I'd never say it's the best rock. I don't get what your problem is

> meanwhile on /bleep/

> f-f-FUCKING rockists can't even tell the difference between Progressive Deep Jungle Housestep and Progressive Jungle Deep Dubhouse

genres are useful for identifying music. get over yourself

Cringe general?

First time I'm hearing this. Wtf is that supposed to be.

Hi, new friend.

Retard alert.

wtf does damon che even do now?

yeah, bass player is a qt

i've been looking for this kind of stuff, thanks m8

hey cmon man it's still a decent album. i agree though, it was pretty much my first as well

as far as don cab goes, i still think what burns never returns is the GOAT. it captures the perfect transitional moment between the "old" sound (less repetition, more freeform song structure like on 2, and the "new" sound on american don, where it's all about minimalist repetition and the drums are more bare-bones). i do think american don was definitely more influential though, listen to any twinklemath or even the first foals record...

also whomever posted storm and stress, you dumb homie. that's like... free jazz.

meant to reply to he was in bellini for a sec but his asshole tendencies fucked that up... i think now he just does the FAKE, NEW LINEUP of don cab :(

June Is Finally Here, Don Cab 3, Slice Where You Live Like Pie are simply god-tier

no one posted this yet?

this desu, what burns is their magnum opus (though i secretly prefer 2 for the atonal jam garbage it is). i always thought american don was a bit naff though, and the million bands that copped its sound. twinkles pls go.

Dude all Math Rock sounds almost exactly the same.

If you've heard 3 that's probably one too many, you've already heard them all.

You're such an idiot

I've been here for 8 years now, and I literally have no idea what that shit is supposed to be.

hey bro

pls be b8

you cant call yourself a mathrock fan and not like this album.

btw don cab and piglet are overrated

oh wow this is pretty cringe... not good at all

This desu.

...

Yeah. Everyone else in this thread is retarded. American Don is the peak of math rock. The genre has been stagnated for years.

by the first listen it sounds like very generic math rock, while don caballero has some sort of character archieved through melancholic melodies and the production on American Don / WBNR, most of math rock just sounds sterile

>Storm and Stress is free jazz
Lol get out. Listen to after the 5 minute mark of Today Is Totally Crashing where the speed and noise ramp up. Sounds a lot like WBNR but with more erratic drumming.

I generally agree that math rock peaked around 2000, however I'd argue that this album is the genre's last hurrah.

oh man totally forgot about this one, it's really good, and definitely not sterile

>polvo
>math rock
/rym/ get out

>math rock thread
>no one mentions Tricot

c'mon guys

>2010s math rock

>bandcamp filename
>fucking awful cover

Yeah I'm sure it's terrible

it is

toe = don cab, for long tomorrow is also great!

What went wrong?

OCHANSENSUSU

Anyone else really enjoy this album?

I avoid it for a long time because "muh Ian Williams" and while not as god-tier as the DC2 thru American Don albums, it's still very solid

Any recs for some faster/more aggressive math rock a la Zach Hill or giraffes? giraffes! ?

Yeah. It's basically a return to DC2's type of sound. Not as complex but a lot of fun. Punkgasm is terrible though.

Do yall nigs like swancore?

>8 years

absolute bullshit. more like 8 months.

...

no love for clever girl here?

...

>listens to phantom on the horizon once

listening to math rock makes you better at math

Il Porno Star is the song that should have ended this stuppid genre.
