I doubt anyone cares, but this is my takeaway on Goff so far.
One thing I really noticed is pocket presence. I've only seen him take off with it a couple times, which considering how garbage >our receivers and line is, that is pretty impressive. In fact, I want to expand on that a little and say roughly half of Goff's problem areas can be fixed by improving the former. Particularly receivers. Goff's very first start was statistically trash, but he made practically every throw, everyone just fucking dropped passes that went right on their fingers.
A trend I've noticed is throwing high. He rarely under-throws a receiver or just flat out misses them, pretty much every error is made overhead and also in the flats. Inside passes I've noticed tend to be dead on accurate, range doesn't seem to have an effect.
I have a theory on that. No one on this team knows how to fucking catch and I've seen these scrubs drop a pass from 5 yards out right on their fucking hands. I thing Goff is purposely trying to drive passes made on the outside up to try and make them go up and use their body for it, or possibly drop it straight over the shoulder in fades.
Or if you're cynical you could just say he is just fucking them up. In fact, he probably is. I don't know, just an interesting thing I've noticed so far in watching him and I can't thing of much of a reason for consistently throwing high on flats and being dart accurate everywhere else (or mostly).
