Why is k-pop popular than j-pop?
J-pop obviously has better music quality than k-pop but the influence of j-pop is still falling.

j-pop is the past thing. it died out as a genre in the mid 00s or so.
that thing you mention is some idol shit thats for nerds. in a word j-pop has been divided into each individual vocal/band.

It's all because of accessibility and style. J-pop is almost exclusively focused on their domestic audience, what Japanese people want to hear, K-pop is focused more broadly on an international audience. It's also extremely accessible, K-pop songs are released immediately on Youtube and other hosting sites, J-pop is almost never, and if it is, it's region blocked. So even if you want to listen ti J-pop, it's hard to know that it even exists. The Korean government wanted some different revenue income in the mid to end 2000's (around the time J-pop fell off the map} so they threw millions of dollars into the industry, and it worked.

korea doesnt have band culture. nobody mentions it on forums like this since all of the nerds only see mainstream mass-produced celeb shits and make believe its what korean music is all about. they dont even realise it even makes the situation of the musicians in korea worse.
none of those azn nerds give a shit about the small minority of independent vocals and bands who are active in korea and dont rely on big companies and that shitty management. nobody even gives it a try. feel little bad for them.

It does exist, there are some great bands in Korea, but you're right, it's certainly not very big. Because the government has such a huge stake in the industry, there are a hand full of companies that own the entire industry.

i wont blame the govt on this, but have to say id blame these nerds who only get hyped only for some celeb trash from big companies with some competitive/nationalistic motivation. im willing to listen to some of their indie/independent music and sometimes even seek for it myself, (still havent discovered cool one tho), but holy fuck, nobody literally mentions it and digs into.
