Godard always seemed like an overhyped brand to me, that people like to like just because they think it reflects something about their personality, sort of like Apple macs (I don't mind macs btw). Maybe I'm just not getting something, but I think there are so many way better French directors, and even more directors in general who are better. I agree with Herzog when calls Godard intellectual counterfeit.
