What are some hauntingly beautiful, genuine and emotional patrician songs? I've searched for beautiful songs like Song To The Siren for a while now and I've gone trough pretty much everything Sup Forums charts and threads have to offer but I haven't just found it. The music I'm describing doesn't have much instruments so stuff like radiohead and king crimson are not it.

>I've gone through pretty much everything Sup Forums charts
Don't take charts as the gospel. They are just the most popular and therefore the most accessible music. Nothing wrong with that, it's just these charts are not the best albums ever

Bump

Good stuff. His stuff on TVU's s/t was also pretty close what I was looking for but still just not quite.

What specifically are you looking for?

Slowdive - Dagger

youtube.com/watch?v=VdFZSF_LmVo

This sort of emotional melancholic kind of music which has semi low pacing and there's not many instruments but something like faint shimmering or orchestra can be good depending on the song.

Not really what I was looking for but thanks anyways.

Like this maybe? I'm struggling but the whole of this live performance is great

OP has a good taste tho.

Lots of instruments obviously cuz it's an orchestra but fits
>emotional melancholic kind of music which has semi low pacing

The piano, melody and possibly even the instrumentalization could be more diverse in my opinion but thanks for trying. If you're familiar with classical the kind of music I'm looking for is like Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 1st movement.

Maybe Waits? Music doesn't get much more genuine and beautiful than his.

Oh yes, I'm familiar with Tchaikovsky's work. His first piano conserto is not either really slow at pacing but it's romanticism passes into my list.

Not sure man, hope you find something though

I know it's a meme but his voice ruins it for me...

Ok, more classical

Yeah, I'll keep on trying. Thanks for your time

By listening bits and pieces from here and there it sounds pretty nice. Could I get some interpreter/conductor recommendations for these and/or perhaps even more similiar stuff?

It was less harsh in his earlier years, but you'll grow to love it. Based on what you said you're looking for Tom Waits' music is that in a nutshell. Well worth trying to get into him at least.

I guess I won't lose anything if I try. Where do I start?

>Could I get some interpreter/conductor recommendations
I'm not enough of a connoisseur to know many versions of the same piece - most people like the version they hear first anyway. But I can give you some more stuff

Also do you listen to ambient at all?
youtube.com/watch?v=pY2YlB61uBU

Thanks mate. And I don't primarily listen to ambient but I do enjoy ambient if it's good one at that.

Jennifer

do you know what slowcore is

sounds like it might be up your alley desu

Important question, which version of Song to the Siren is the one you are praising?

youtube.com/watch?v=sGC8g0DJ0_E

Ahh, I knew this was coming... I didn't address which one because both have their own merits over one another. With the album version I like the instrumentalization more but with the "demo" I find the singing and the mood appealing.

Could I have examples of songs/artists/albums?

I don't know what you're thinking but at least I'm not looking for some acoustic guitar accompanied by a guy singing in spanish.

Big Star - Holocaust

Mahler's 5th symphony, 4th movement. My all time favorite love song.

I'll check it out. Thanks.

Good thread

Autechre - Foldfree Casual
Sounds like it might be right up your alley.

At Closing Time

Try this.

tried these but I just haven't gotten into them. Just what should I be looking for in them?

It's pretty nice atmospheric ambient album but not really what I was describing back there. Thanks anyways.

duster
codeine
red house painters

Thanks for the suggestions.

Shoegaze might be up your alley. Check it up if you haven't already.

Just listen to classical. Music based on the Afro-American popular music is just a big fraud.

...

What about Maggot Brain the song? It's probably as genuine and emotional as it can get.

>taking charts seriously

>The music I'm describing doesn't have much instruments
well in that case
youtube.com/watch?v=_AWIqXzvX-U

Otherwise no problem but especially in his earlier years his way of shouting the lyrics and playing loud harmonica improvisations ruins it for me.

I bet I have heard this before but still I haven't...
