What keeps me awake at night: That there is no end to my depression. Things will never get better. There is no joy to being around other people and its just a chore. Ill never get the grades to go to university. Ill never get a nice house, kids or a decent job. People will never stop pointing out my mental issues or my quirks. Ill probably become a miserable hopeless homeless alcholic.

Motivation for 2017: Apply for uni, if i cant get in upgrade my HS grades. Learn how to bullshit being happy and lie my way through everything until i start believing it myself. Travel. Find a reason to live, no matter how small and cling to it.

I want / wanted to do something more advanced well before you suggested it and i think its a good idea and i also wanted to move out. this whole year has been pretty shit if you look at it that way

i understand i could be doing different things like law or something else but i feel like its not my tribe. There has been a body of work behind me in this computer stuff. any other degree would require quite the sales pitch

sometimes i can see myself doing just about any job. i guess its nice to be flexible like that but i can't tell what i guess my """true calling""" is.
I can see myself doing this as much as i can see myself being a lawyer, architect, accountant etc..
I need something to limit myself with otherwise i will never a proper decision

and ofcourse i could be a very competent pm or whatever.
Right now it feels like i am just floating. grasping at straws acting like i know where i am going but really i dont have any fucking clue. its a bit unsettling because i have had this sort of problem before.

Maybe its better to find what really drives your passionate side before you try to answer bigger questions like what your ideal career is. Take an internship at a law firm. sit in a few lectures at uni until you find something that you could see yourself doing.

What keeps me awake at night: My crippiling anxiety. Not the kind that everyone thinks they have, you know that feeling when your really nervous about something like giving a speech in public for example; your stomach is in pain. Your chest hurts, that is my life every minute of everyday. And I'm too stubborn to make myself talk to someone about my problems or get help.

Motivation for 2017: Planning on moving away from shit hole I live in for a more normal job and simpler lifestyle where I have some time to do the things I love.

I'm also in a shitty financial situation, which makes sleep hard.

In almost any life or death situation cops face, you don't have the luxury of knowing if they are armed or unarmed going into a situation. When people act suspcisiouly and refuse to show us their hands, we're gonna start fearing they have a gun or a weapon that they're waiting to use. A cop that shoots an unarmed person when that unarmed person gave the cop every reason to fear for his life, isn't a bad cop.

What about all the cops shooting fleeing suspects in the back? Were they defending their jelly rolls from urban exercise?

Also nearly all dangerous encounters with police, situations are de-escalated. We hear about the 1% on the news, where police officers are placed into impossible situations with often times ignorant, intoxicated, or mentally ill (if not all 3) people acting violently. If you try to fight me one on one and I think I'm going to lose, I will fucking kill you.

Your right, the mass population does not understand what it's like to be in situations like that, police officers deserve more respect, sure there are some "bad cops" out there but people are swayed by the media and show clips of cops beating the shit out of some black guy and everyone looses their minds but they fail to show the 30 seconds before where that guy tried to kill a cop, it's disgusting.

What about all the people who died in handcuffs, in police custody or in jails? They couldn't have threatened anybody at that point, and cops are just savagely murdering people who haven't been convicted with a crime and are completely pacified

Yeah that's call human error, and in the era of shock and awe media combined with technology, we're getting a front row seat at an event that's occurred since the dawn of policing across the world: the human fucking element. Until robocop comes along, you're gonna find a scared cop who makes a bad decision when he's pissing his pants. Does that suck? Fuck yeah it sucks. But the training that I at least went through, was about as advanced as you get without actually having to face someone actively trying to kill you with a real gun.

I'm not about to start debating all aspects of brutality. But when it comes to the majority of these shootings sparking mass uproar across the US, nearly all of them were found to be justified. People just refuse to accept responsiblity for their own actions. I'm not hear to take up for the mistakes of cops. But I get sick of hearing "a few bad cops" in reference to these life or death situations. A cop that shoots someone when fearing for their life is a GOOD FUCKING COP. A cop that decides not to shoot someone when fearing for their life and risiking their life even more so...is a GOOD FUCKING COP.

There are cops that abuse their authority for sure and fuck em all, and we don't like working with em and we report em. But these cops that are put into these extremely violent or sensitive situations that feel they have to shoot, aren't driven by racism or a systemic bias. They're not bad people that don't appreciate life. They got put in a terrible position that few can comprehend and made the wrong decision in hindsight.

What keeps me awake: Loneliness, feeling like I will never have the comfort of true love; Regret, squandering any talent I had, drowning my sorrows in food and being fat af; Self contemplation, trying to figure out how to put myself back together and be motivated to do it.

Motivation: Losing enough weight to make being alive at 50 seem more possible. Being able to live independently. Finding someone who will appreciate all the love I have to give.
