Hey Sup Forumstards, late night life thread. Post age, job living situation, what keeps you up at night and motivation for 2017. Age: 18 Job: Line cook Wage: 15$ hourly +tips Home life: Roomate/apartment What keeps me awake at night: That there is no end to my depression. Things will never get better. There is no joy to being around other people and its just a chore. Ill never get the grades to go to university. Ill never get a nice house, kids or a decent job. People will never stop pointing out my mental issues or my quirks. Ill probably become a miserable hopeless homeless alcholic.
Motivation for 2017: Apply for uni, if i cant get in upgrade my HS grades. Learn how to bullshit being happy and lie my way through everything until i start believing it myself. Travel. Find a reason to live, no matter how small and cling to it.
what do you want me to say? I want / wanted to do something more advanced well before you suggested it and i think its a good idea and i also wanted to move out. this whole year has been pretty shit if you look at it that way
Bentley Russell
i understand i could be doing different things like law or something else but i feel like its not my tribe. There has been a body of work behind me in this computer stuff. any other degree would require quite the sales pitch
Zachary Adams
sometimes i can see myself doing just about any job. i guess its nice to be flexible like that but i can't tell what i guess my """true calling""" is. I can see myself doing this as much as i can see myself being a lawyer, architect, accountant etc.. I need something to limit myself with otherwise i will never a proper decision
Gabriel Allen
and ofcourse i could be a very competent pm or whatever. Right now it feels like i am just floating. grasping at straws acting like i know where i am going but really i dont have any fucking clue. its a bit unsettling because i have had this sort of problem before.
Tyler Peterson

1- No job Living situation: normal What keeps you up at ight: it's day here, but, I read memes and watch movies till my eyes burn, makes me forget the loneliness for a sec, tbh, I like being alone Motivation for 2017: I can't kill myself im too mucheap of a pussy 2 do it, but u are what u eat.. amirite?
Evan Taylor
Maybe its better to find what really drives your passionate side before you try to answer bigger questions like what your ideal career is. Take an internship at a law firm. sit in a few lectures at uni until you find something that you could see yourself doing.
Jason Barnes
Age: 26 Job: Police Officer Wage: $27/hr Home Life: Roommates, engaged, getting married in a year. What keeps me awake at night: Everyone thinks they know how to do my job, people don't know what good cops truly are. Motivation for 2017: Finishing grad school in the spring and applying for federal law enforcement positions.
Parker Wright
I dont mind spending more time doing internships and stuff but I can't continue with the current situation and by that i mean how incredibly exposed i am
No. I have great respect for police but i have no interest in it. I'm not a McNulty, im more presbo
Jordan Allen
If cops are trained to de escalate the situation why cant they do that for unarmed people ? How come it usually ends up with dead citizens? Those are bad cops but like since your a good cop what do you do about the bad ones
Liam Jenkins
What keeps you from doing "good"? From being "good" to other people?
if you just think about how you can be useful to people around you and make a better day to them by being good, doing good.
That's your purpose.
Asher Hall
Age: 21 Job: Engergy Industry Salary: 70-100k/yr (been more like 40k because of the price of oil.)
Roommate/renting a house/Gf
What keeps me awake at night: My crippiling anxiety. Not the kind that everyone thinks they have, you know that feeling when your really nervous about something like giving a speech in public for example; your stomach is in pain. Your chest hurts, that is my life every minute of everyday. And I'm too stubborn to make myself talk to someone about my problems or get help.
Motivation for 2017: Planning on moving away from shit hole I live in for a more normal job and simpler lifestyle where I have some time to do the things I love.
I'm on the night shift grind currently 4:17am, good luck with your lives Sup Forumsros
Jack Hughes
I'm also in a shitty financial situation, which makes sleep hard.
Benjamin Long
In almost any life or death situation cops face, you don't have the luxury of knowing if they are armed or unarmed going into a situation. When people act suspcisiouly and refuse to show us their hands, we're gonna start fearing they have a gun or a weapon that they're waiting to use. A cop that shoots an unarmed person when that unarmed person gave the cop every reason to fear for his life, isn't a bad cop.
Leo Nelson
What about all the cops shooting fleeing suspects in the back? Were they defending their jelly rolls from urban exercise?
Noah Bailey
Also nearly all dangerous encounters with police, situations are de-escalated. We hear about the 1% on the news, where police officers are placed into impossible situations with often times ignorant, intoxicated, or mentally ill (if not all 3) people acting violently. If you try to fight me one on one and I think I'm going to lose, I will fucking kill you.
Josiah Morales
Your right, the mass population does not understand what it's like to be in situations like that, police officers deserve more respect, sure there are some "bad cops" out there but people are swayed by the media and show clips of cops beating the shit out of some black guy and everyone looses their minds but they fail to show the 30 seconds before where that guy tried to kill a cop, it's disgusting.
Christopher Edwards
shut up pig
Why don't you go seize somebody's property
Anthony Morgan
Degenerate
Ian Price
What about all the people who died in handcuffs, in police custody or in jails? They couldn't have threatened anybody at that point, and cops are just savagely murdering people who haven't been convicted with a crime and are completely pacified
Jaxon Murphy
"all the cops" ... you mean the so inexpiclibably small percentage of police officers, that when fearing for their lives, had poor judgement? Yeah that's call human error, and in the era of shock and awe media combined with technology, we're getting a front row seat at an event that's occurred since the dawn of policing across the world: the human fucking element. Until robocop comes along, you're gonna find a scared cop who makes a bad decision when he's pissing his pants. Does that suck? Fuck yeah it sucks. But the training that I at least went through, was about as advanced as you get without actually having to face someone actively trying to kill you with a real gun.
Daniel Hall
There probably useless humans that deserve to die anyway,
militarized police and extralegal slayings have no place in a free republic. You're the degenerate here.
Ethan Butler
When you dehumanize others you render yourself inhuman
Anthony Turner
Listen. Being a cop is a hard stressful job, just because you dont agree with what some police officers choices doesent mean they are all bad. This is a life thread, not a hurr durr fuk th police thread. kindly fuck off.
Thomas Cooper
"You can't always clean up the streets with a gun, but sometimes thats exactly what's needed"
I'd clean you up.
Zachary Wilson
Id rather be inhuman than have to live in a world where I have to listen to people like you spew liberal shit out your mouths.
Angel Brown
shut up edgelord
You're a disgrace
Isaac Parker
Then eat a bullet
Angel Taylor
I bet you call yourself a man but you can't change a tire
Nicholas Jackson
Age: 18 Job: nothing right now, joining the German Army soon Wage: Again, nothing rn, soon approx. 800-1200€ monthly Homelife: Living with my mom What keeps me awake at night: Nothing to do apart from jobbing and vidya, friends go to school and have no time, no gf, no real hobbys, cant get myself to ask that one girl out, worried about my future since i dont want to become a "fulltime soldier", dont have a good degree
Motivation for 2017: get out of my hole of boredom and self-pity, get fit, be together with that one girl, actually have good money
Eli Long
I'm not about to start debating all aspects of brutality. But when it comes to the majority of these shootings sparking mass uproar across the US, nearly all of them were found to be justified. People just refuse to accept responsiblity for their own actions. I'm not hear to take up for the mistakes of cops. But I get sick of hearing "a few bad cops" in reference to these life or death situations. A cop that shoots someone when fearing for their life is a GOOD FUCKING COP. A cop that decides not to shoot someone when fearing for their life and risiking their life even more so...is a GOOD FUCKING COP.
There are cops that abuse their authority for sure and fuck em all, and we don't like working with em and we report em. But these cops that are put into these extremely violent or sensitive situations that feel they have to shoot, aren't driven by racism or a systemic bias. They're not bad people that don't appreciate life. They got put in a terrible position that few can comprehend and made the wrong decision in hindsight.
John Reed
It isn't even in the top 10 most dangerous jobs
farming and forestry are more deadly
Logan Ramirez
You live in a fantasy world where you think your opinion matters, just like many others because of social media, stupid people get a stage to voice there idiotic thoughts.
Alexander Cruz
brah, when your school gets shot up by some loli addicted beta male dual wielding AK's, you're gonna be happy I can respond with an AR, rifle ballistic vest, and a armored truck to get your ass out of there.
Grayson Stewart
listen friend. its not going to happen. i dont want to be a popo and i for sure dont want to be in the army. i might might be a pilot (non-fighter jets) under extremely special conditions.
Lincoln Thompson
>Age 18 >Job ARG plotting and execution; freelance >Wage fluctuates wildly >Home life apartment, no roommates >What keeps me awake at night Lots of things. Fear of death, thinking about life and the universe, dreaming of suicide, anxiety, more generic depressive shit >Motivation for 2017 absolutely none
Kayden Edwards
That's bullshit since the days of serpico good cops get run out of the force
It's nothing but crooked cops by now and all the cover ups, corruption and killings prove that
Adrian Baker
Im not agreeing with anyside. Im trying to say this isnt a debate thread on police officers in modern society. Go make another thread.
Daniel Price
Age: 23 Job: eBay Store Manager Wage: $30/Hr Home life: Live alone What keeps me awake at night: Since I moved out of home, nothing. Past few years have been some of the most relaxing. GF on weekends, alone for the rest of teh time. The silence is comforting.
Motivation for 2017: Proposal? Will be together for 5 years next year.
Julian Thomas
yes, other jobs are more accident prone resulting in loss of life...however there are not too many other jobs other than policing and active duty military where people will actively try to kill you or cause you physical harm.
Charles Watson
I know how you feel user, its crippling
Ryder Parker
go on a ride along man. You'll find your neighborhood cops are pretty fucking normal, nice people that, out of uniform you wouldn't look at twice.
Nicholas Walker
What about when they shoot children and rape girls or shoot people who are handcuffed. I have never met a cop that wasnt looking for trouble.
Gavin Barnes
Go for it man. If you think you can make it work and have a nice comfortable life then fuck the statistics. do what makes you happy.
Thomas Harris
This kind of bulkshit has provided a good smokescreen for police corruption, police brutality and organized police crime
A few bad apples will spoil the whole bunch and that's exactly what happened to the FOOP
Christopher Watson
dude, no. I've been trying to explain to you why its a bad idea and then i remembered i already said this to you. It's this dependence itself that is the bad thing here. You have been my main source of stimuli. Can't you see that this is bad for me/us. We need to have actual lives and shit.
Brody Myers
haha yeah I'm sure my anecdote will overturn the statistics
Jackson Scott
im sure you can understand how this dependence is really bad for both of us.
Landon Nelson

I've move though it, not being the best or the worst. I constantly compare myself to others and wonder why I can seem to motivate myself enough to do anything. >Motivation Making a lot more friends in school this year, I didn't spend too much time with people in my program but a lot are very nice and I've been hanging around with them. Mostly my motivation comes from moving forward even though I don't know if it's in the right direction.

Home Life: a decent house with a wife that doesn't know how to cook... but she does like vid games.
What keeps me up: I sleep like a rock...
Motivation: expecting first child this year! Also... hopefully add substantially to my savings (plan on escaping California some day!)
Nicholas Johnson
Valid argument. I'm tired of all the cop-hate. Though I've also seen a few fairly power-driven cops. Those ones deserve it; the rest are fine.
Andrew Stewart
Sorry I don't really want to say. It's a meme degree and even though we're all anonymous the ridicule still takes it's toll. End goal would be to be well known and respected for what I want to do. But honestly I just want to be able to get a job after and not disappoint my parents
Grayson Sanders
>age 26 >job server room technician >wage 3,6k euros to hand/month >home life all alone >what keeps me awake at night no purpose in my life. i will live a pointless life and die alone >motivation for 2017 none ...or maybe i'll kill myself, who knows
William Hill
Ridiculous overgeneralization. I've met far more decent cops than arrogant dangerous-seeming ones. I've only really seen one of the latter.
Thomas Ortiz
Age: 22 Job: Blackjack Dealer Wage:21$ hourly +tips Home: move out from dads next week, 1bdrm appartment what keeps up: the fact I'll die alone, with my parents and family being strangers to me; still. and yes i had to preface that because it fucking sucks to be back here at my moms house
>What keeps me awake at night My life still fucking sucks, and im forced to take off time from work due to a broken wrist and the down time is killing me and my sleep schedule

Ryder Moore

Life sucks and then you die, I'm over it.
Landon Fisher
bc theyre egomaniacs who take the job to have power and bully others. being able to kill someone and get away with it? music to their ears. go to a cop bar, these fuckers take pride in brutality. reality is, they are triggerhapy pussies who couldnt last in a real fight. theres 0 reason for them to have lethal weapons. they could use rubber bullets and get nonlethal results but they wouldnt feel as badass.
Josiah Long
shooting someone in the back is not an error in judgment faggot. stop trying so hard to defend pussy cops
Michael Wright
>actively try to kill you
you realize how delusional you are? no ones out to kill you you fearful fucktard. stop victimizing yourself
