What is wrong with you faggots?

Also top tier tv shows
>Deadwood
Yeah it's a western, get over it, my favorite show of all time which says a lot as I am more of a sci fi guy
>Rome
Only 2 seasons, paced really well, strong characters and character arcs. Can get through it quick as it's only two seasons and it doesn't feel at all rushed and they wrap it up in a satisfying way. Also you might learn something, loosely based on actual history.
>Fargo season 1 (haven't seen 2 yet)
Worth the watch just for Billy Bob Thornton's character and performance alone, coolest bad guy on TV in a while
>The Expanse
Awesome sci fi, has a "hard sci fi" feel to it, good cgi, cool universe building. Only downside is it does take itself a little too seriously sometimes. (Lots of low, gruff, intense dialogue). Otherwise if you like space shit this should be on your list, I think only one season is out.
>Jonanthan Strange and Mr. Norrell
Based on the book, only one season, liberal quazi historical account if magic was a real thing in England, Great performances, creative ideas, and it's one of those "comfy environment" shows
>Misfits
British comedy/drama about a bunch of screw ups that get super powers. Some funny shit
>Peep Show
British cringe comedy, dry and sarcastic as fuck, hilarious. Can get a little over the top sometimes and exhausting but if you need a laugh this is my go to rn

Then the obligatory's we already know about
>Breaking Bad, True Detective, The Wire etc

Blamp

What's Westwood about?

Fuck yeah, cocksucker, deadwood kicks ass

Basically they're trying to milk an old 1970s film into an entire TV series.

Good luck with that ...

Westwood is all about RedAlert.
Tanya is fuckable

Westwood would probably be about a bunch of robots running around shouting Cocksucker

found the guy who hasn't watched a single episode of Westworld

Dubs of ignorance

Jonathan strange and norell was pretty great, book was better but that's always the case. I think they did pretty well jamming it all into one season

>total agreement

I loved the book. Also have the audio book which I listen to sometimes. Show was pretty great, for me felt rushed but yes, they were cramming it all into season so I get it.

thx OP, agree about Rome, epic series. will check out them rest.

Like to add Firefly just because teenage boys on the chan prolly wont know it, there's a movie as well to be watched after the series.
make sure you watch the series in the right order, the show flopped because they messed that up.

All those shows are just ok. Watch pic related for god tier show.

Agreed, i think Firefly might be slipping off the obligatory list cause it has been a while. Also one of my favorites. Didn't put it on cause I figured the 12 year olds weren't up yet. It's a show I can re watch once or twice a year. Movie was pretty good too

Definitely check out Westworld and Deadwood, as we know anything that HBO does is going to be pretty good, writing, performances, production value

>deadwood
>true detective
>the wire

Just ok?

I fucking loved the wire back in the days. recently I tried to get into it again but could not get passed the first 30 minutes.
maybe its too old now, the acting, the 'cool' slang they use, its all a bit outdated. but maybe it was just my mood, don't usually mind outdated stuff when its good enough.

also would like to add Nurse Jackie. i'll get flamed for this but apart from the hospital soap and reasonably good acting its mainly a suffocating storyline about a drug addict whom you watch degenerate slowly. quite well done.

Also, disclaimer about Westworld. When you first start watching it you may think
>this is going to be predictable af.

It isn't. Not in the way you'd expect anyway. It has my total attention and am totally invested in where they are going with it because it is kicking ass, especially episode 4 which recently aired.

Good balance of thought provoking ideas, violence, good guys being good guys, bad guys being bad guys and satisfying/awesome humour at just the right moments. Also some super absolutely chilling moments. Westworld is the fucking balls I cannot wait to see what happens.

Some shows aren't gonna hold up, I understand you point. At the time though that shit was dope.
>omar's comin yo

I loved Nurse Jackie, not sure how far I got into it but yeah as a drug user I felt a lot of parallels and you could just feel the imminent train wreck due to her drug addiction.

Great show

band of brother was epic, pacific was horrible and now I hear they are making a 3rd series. forgot what it was about. (ww1 or 2)
fingers crossed they learned from their pacific mistakes, could really use another band of brother-ish series. watch it at least once a year.

Making lists, thanks for adding the descriptions keep going faggots I need shit to watch while I hide in my room during the holidays

Dang, I forgot about Band of Brothers, I never thought it would be possible I could hate David Schwimmer more than I already did. (spelling). Which now is a sorta a switcharoo cause it showcased that the guy actually does has some acting skills. Kinda like Joffrey from GoT. The dude that plays him isn't an asshole but holy shit his character was, that takes skill.

Didn't see Pacific

when I first saw him appear I was ready to stop watching, and I didn't even hate him form Friends and kinda knew he was a good actor.
but seeing his face out of the blue.....

Also Luther. don't ignore it.

I gotsta go, comfy thread is comfy, thx OP

>westwood
>robots running around shouting cocksucker

Kek, I'd watch that too

same feeling about seeing him, he grew on me though

>Luther
have heard so much about it, I will get to it at your recommendation. Thank you and a have a good one!

maybe don't hide from your family during the holidays so you can watch tv. Then again, there is a lot of good tv listed here...

Derek, Brit show about a mentally challenged guy living and helping a nursing home stay on its feet.

The Almighty Johnsons, New Zealand family who are really the old Norse gods incarnate.

Toast of London. Another Brit show, failing actor living in the present but it's sort of set in the 60's/70's, Good cast better black comedy.

I like watching this guy fuck shit up

at least I respect the guy as an actor now anyway, never really watched friends or anything it's just like you say, saw his face and was like..oh no.

Additionally Season 1 of Wayward Pines was good, worth a watch season 2 is down to personal preference though {Drama}

I take it you never saw Feed the Beast then, he was an obstacle that was too much for the show. Overacting for days.

Same. Most interesting character on the show for me anyway. He's funny, a badass, just fucking awesome. I would follow him into the desert to find the entrance to the maze
>whatever the fuck the maze is, cannot wait to find out

I haven't seen it. But before band of brothers to me he was just a d bag sitcom actor. At least he did an good enough job in BoB to make me realize that he at least has some talent.

thanks anons, writing all this shit down

And bump

I'm sure there are plenty more, but those were all I can think that's on my Hdd that isn't regular
primetime viewing

why is this wdgy shit for 12yos so forcefully advertised everywhere?

PFew, few minutes in, And i see Trevor ( GTA 5) i am sick of seeing him in every "New THing"

So far im bored.

see
Just stay with it.

it is meh, I only watch it because anthony hopkins is the best.
but all that, synth with feeling and awakening bullshit, I just can't give a shit

San Fransisco cocksucker, Yes Wu San Fransisco cock sucker

disagreement. It isn't just about the robots. The plot point revealed in the last couple episodes about the maze is....well, we don't know yet. The show transcends the ethics of robots becoming aware. I think that is the people who aren't watching haven't started watching
>hur dur it's just about robots getting fucked/killed for pleasure

Obviously with the revelation of the maze and the man in black's motivation for hunting it down the story has gone far beyond just the ethics of robots and them "waking up"

I think we are gonna get a movie soon. Well, soonish,

>current year
>watching tv
What is wrong with you faggot?

I mean
>I think that is REASON the people who aren't watching haven't started watching

They look at the trailers or whatever and just assume it's just about robots waking up, blah, been there, done that type thing. The show has gone waaaay beyond that already, and only four episodes have aired.

The guys working for the company are more robotic than the robots. The actors and dialoge are terrible.

what's wrong with watching series and flicks, enlighten us.

I'm curious and suspicious that many of them are robots and do not know it. Hopkins is running the show, he has a puppet master feeling to him.

is this a TV thread or a GET thread

>thinks Deadwood is top tier show

all other opinions instantly discarded

Not him but you are a fucking retard. Deadwood is god-tier

I'm back for comfy thread.

roaming through my folder I would like to add;

>Better Call Saul
its the douche attorney from braking bad, now in his own series.
fucking brilliant stuff if you like character development. he is a sleezebag lawyer whom ended up on the bad side of the law (breaking bad) but this series is how he got there, starting out all naïve and actually really likeable.
don't even have to know breaking bad to watch it.
2 seasons

>This American Life
originaly and still a podcast series but they did a tv series as well. its docu stuff, each chapter focusses on odd ways of living, lifestyles that aren't as normal, people with strange ideas.
comfy weird stuff.

Need opinions on Vikings and The Americans, got both show in my folder, not seen them yet. delet or watch?

kek lol wat

Hey welcome back and holy shit are you me?
>love better call saul,
pacing is an issue with a lot of people but for most it matches up with BB so if you liked BB you are gonna be cool with BCS
>this american life
been listening to this show ever since I knew it existed, haven't had the time to check out the series yet, but will

Damn we have a lot in common as far as our interests go

>talking about best shows on tv right now
>not talking about pic related

wtf?

Hopkins is the only reason I'm watching the show, and yet I'm a little disappointed that he's not as evil as his hannibal lecter character.

I think Ed Harris is making up for that.

seen a lot about this, mostly on Sup Forums. It's on my list to watch for sure

I started the Americans, didn't get totally immersed then I think I got distracted by another show. Interesting topic but for whatever reason I stopped watching. So i cannot fairly say it sucked, or fairly say it was great.

>vikings
yep, watch it.

>Damn we have a lot in common as far as our interests go

maybe that's why its such a comfy thread.
that and somehow shitposters are staying away which is nice for a change. a bit like the old days on /b

oh I just checked, better call saul S3 will be with us early 2017 jay!

I don't waste my time on drip fed bullshit. I wait until the season is finished then indulge on the weekend.

Might be too early for them, that or they are in school. It's nice when Sup Forums functions as intended

>stoked for S3, give us some walter and jessie pls, even just a little tiny bit
not sure how they are gonna pull it off but I know the chatter has been there will be cameos

Underrated post.

People who fucking endlessly clack on about the TV shows they watch are the living fucking end.

>HURR DURR MUH SHOWS
>MUH FANDOMS

Grow the fuck up you cunt.

I am usually the same. The trailers sucked me the fuck in though, plus it's HBO. They have never failed to entertain so I think I just got too hyped for it, couldn't help myself.

Anything HBO is mostly likely going to be fucking great. They know how to make good tv with great writing, performances and production value.

Shit, half the shows mentioned in this thread are HBO

I kinda disregarded it on forehand because hackers/hactivists/ecorp. all red flags for me in terms of 'oh no they are jumping the bandwagon the government is so evil and we need social media stuff in our movies to attract teens'

but if its worth it..

> endlessly clack on about the TV shows they watch

It's a tv show recommendation thread. Just where do you think you are right now?
>state of mad

same. It's kinda become the thing I can no longer ignore. Was turned off by all the same reasons you've listed. Will watch though
>don't judge a book by it's cover
>why did I forget that
>will watch

damn that would be nice. I'm not a writer but I would defo re-do their first encounter in BB but from Sauls perspective. that would be a great ending of the series and a seaming less transition into BB.

TV is for fags.

Westworld is pretty dope though.

same here, and I got quite good at avoiding spoilers as well.
apart from that one gif on Sup Forums that told me what would happen in the last season of Breaking Bad. still enjoyed It though

I thought the same, let's see them meet up from his perspective. All i know for sure is I saw some clickbait that Bryan Cranston was dropping hints there will be cameos. So, cannot totally confirm but I know it is a thing.

*your opinion
*you're
*you are
*disregarded

double irony, I like it.

poorfags who can't afford cable or satellite spotted.

I don't mind spoilers, what are we gonna do, not go on the internet? It is way more fun to just binge watch stuff, plus you're not anxious for the next episode when it ends with a bang/cliffhanger

I fucked up with Westworld. Should have waited but got sucked in, now I am counting down the days for each episode...

>faggots wasting their time on a series wich is basically a movie from 1973.

I hope you love the neet life.

A large section of canyon lands national park is referring to as the maze. Maybe is similar?

Which 70's movie ?

not them but poorfags just torrent or otherwise.

heck, I'm Dutch and our HBO and Netflix are all outdated old shit from 4 years ago, no new shows to be found. kinda forced to d/l stuff

>youtube.com/watch?v=pmbYjVy9Xcg

Why people love shit like Super Dragon Ball Z, I just don't know...

keep shitposting lad, thread will remain comfy

>assuming they have fast enough internet

I doubt they even have good internet tbh

I don't want to speculate, I know there are a shitload of fan theories out there. Haven't read a single one, mostly because the show is doing just fine on keeping me engaged on it's own.

That said, I have a feeling that Ed Harris is suspicious that he himself isn't living in base reality or something, and the maze is the way to get to the truth.

However "the maze" manifests itself anyway.Could be a physical thing, place, could be an escape pod out of what they think is the real world, and ed harris knows he isn't living in the real world. Something something, Arnold found the secret to reality...

FUCK I HATE MYSELF IM FAN THEORIZING GODDAMNT

>this is how good this show is though

see

Sure Sup Forums is full of normies now.

underrated

never seen it but am familiar. Should I watch it?

Shall we drink to the lady with the white shoes?

true detective..
well i liked season 1, season 2 sucked so I'm not watching it any more.
but yeah im loving westworld

I'm a normie, been here for at least 7 years. never felt the need to fit in and join in the bullshit even though I do shitpost allot but that's just to piss off americans

heck, I've been on /pol for years and I still ant a racist.
But good on you feeling you belong somewhere user. its after all one of the most basic human needs.

*aint

Seems like you aren't up with the times, but remakes of old movies have been a thing for about a decade or so now. Get with the times gramps.

>normie

I don't think you even know what that means. That's how stupid you are.

>normies

How does that make me a normie?

that is pic related from the crow and other a bunch of other stuff. i about shit my pants when I found out

>super triggered faggot

leave

...

what is so good about True Detective?

>Westworld
top quality, like the exploration of the idea of the mind being an emerging process and rational in how it relates to an objective world... the show is a shot at how the average people's collective unconscious is a shit-show of random bullshit projections

JewJew Abrams is involved, so aint watching that shit.

I liked True dick season 1 a lot, mostly just because it such a character driven show. Yeah, it's a cop show, about cops hunting down a murderer, but it wasn't really about all that. The show wasn't really about the murders, or the murderer, or tracking him down.

It was about the characters and their arcs. Season 2 felt less character driven to me, more story driven. I don't think it is as good as season 1, but I don't fucking hate it like some people do. I thought everyone's performances were good, especially colin farrell, the action was good etc.

Just the story seemed...rushed, convoluted, overly complicated.
>who are these politicians, why should I care
etc
Also the ending left me unsatisfied. Which maybe they did that on purpose, idk. I just know walking away from season 1 I felt like it wrapped up really well, felt good. Truly felt like it was over. Season 2 just seemed to stop.

What was bad with Pacific?

>missing out son

Nolan is too though. I feel no influence from JJ while watching the show. So......

His name is on it then I'm not watching it, hate that Jew for ruining to franchises I loved so never gonna watch anything with his name on it again.

I dont care who is involved in the making its fucking good!
>I was all set to not like it because it's a western theme but the rabbit hole keeps going deeper.

>sounds like a tantrum
