HOL UP

HOL UP

please tell me he's not playing my beloved L

*smacks lips profusely*
SO YOU BE SAYIN

idris elba is sooo beautiful *__*

*robs store*
WE WUZ

Im so interested in how they handle his unkept hair situation. L going to have a shitty afro or what?

it hasn't been announced who specifically he's playing but it's probably L

>Cast the Asian characters as Whites
>Cast the White character as black

Modern Hollywood casting in a nutshell

Why is it probably L?

WE WUZ KANGS AND SHIETTTTTT NIGGA

L was wight? But he looked way more asian that Light.

how do you know he isn't the black comic relief?

They'll keep all of the positives, like him being smart, good at sports, and knowing how to do jiu jitsu. The negatives like bad posture, mannerisms and hygiene will be dropped. It's Hollywood, every main character has to be perfect, especially if they're POC (pickers of cotton)

The writer, Ohba, said that he's English

Variety says that he's co-starring which most likely means L, but there's a slimmer chance he could be doing Ryuk

Oh that's right, he had one of those fucking weird made up "english-sounding" names.
He still looked wicked asian though.

that nigger better do the L squat

>POC (pickers of cotton)
holy kek

>but there's a slimmer chance he could be doing Ryuk
That seems more likely really

"Death Note Co-Star", to me, sounds a hell of a lot more like L than Ryuk (even tho I'd rather he play Ryuk than L)

I can see it, a shaved Jamal sitting like a weirdo in his sofa, only with a simple gap shirt and jeans, while Michael Caine serves him waffles with an obscene amount of syrup.

Light, a student from Minnesota, finds the death note and first kills Bashad Al Assad, Kim John IL and all your typical "evil" personalities. Ryuk (Renamed to Rick) started by Christopher Walken starts explaining to the audience how the death note works despite him never doing that in the anime.

Somehow Jamal detects "Killer" in Minnesota and travels all his way up from Manchester to US to finally catch Killer.

Pretty impressive movie it will be

If he's playing L, I guess that means Light will not kill L in this adaptation because there is no way they'll let a white guy kill a black guy.

The only person that should be L in an American version.

wrong

Fuck id actually be okay with that if he had hair

*smacks lips*
So you sayin' I bein' a geniuz investigatah?

YES

although he plays himself in every role i think he could actually be good for L, he might actually have to tone down his delivery a bit and give it a slower, more deliberate take

but literally anybody would be better than that guy. what are they thinking

L seems to be Japanese.

And if they're localizing the story then it makes no difference who plays him.

I think he'd be better as Light, disregarding age. From what I've seen he tends to play asshole characters, and he certainly has that sort of punchability about him.
I think that's why Michel Cera got old so fast, because we were always expected to root for him.

I would be very okay with this.

Isn't light supposed to be really attractive?

Only correct casting for L.

>Ryuk (Renamed to Rick) started by Christopher Walken
Top kek, I hope they do this. The Death Note movie is probably going to be shit no matter what so they should try to make it a hilarious trainwreck instead of bland shit.

Now I'm pissed off that it obviously won't happen, why would you do this?

why does this get posted recently?

is this shitty kids anime getting a movie? I am already cinging

Honestly I think Zac Effron would have actually been a good Light

He could play one of the cops who work with L like Aizawa. Besides being black and not looking anything like him, he looks to old to be L.
L should be the same age as Light.

Maybe 10 years ago. He's way to old now.

that's what i thought, but all we know is that he's co-starring so unless one of those guys ends up with a bigger role or we hear more, sounds like L or ryuk to me

Why do you think his eyes were so wide?

WE WUZ THE TOP THREE DETECTIVES IN THE WORLD N SHEEIT

L VS LIGHT

He's only like the third cast member announced.

This doesn't bother me because anime movies are all just complete shit anyway so it's not like this could make it much worse

DARK AND JUSTICE

the means vs the will

>Ryuk
I would be ok with this. Not at all ok with L

If Death Note and Code Geass were so insanely popular, why haven't there been more anime produced that feature characters attempting to outsmart each other every episode?

don't matter much.. anime live-action movies are going to go the same way as video game movies, they will try and try again but they will all be met with inevitable failure

L NIGGER

So, will they rename N to M to avoid racism?

AYOOO
