Most of the popular emo songs were released at least ten years ago
Mcr - helena (2004)
Patd- i write sins not tragedies (2006)
LP - In the end (2001)
Etc etc
I remember what society used to be like back then and ... Fuck. We used to play Space impact on Nokias and fight over you-gi-oh cards, also in the summer we used to play all the childhood games like hide and seek all day long and it was amazing. I feel old....

space impact was the bomb

with the title "I Write Sins not Tragedies," PATD was explicitly rejecting the emo label

i saw this in the catalogue and thought it was noel fielding

it's called growing up
now you know how your father feels

You arent old, in 2005 we was getting mad handjobs on halo 2 swords and shotties only and fuccin Chris was the only ginger, fuccing fire crotch ghetto jk, brb

he looks so different now

damn..

Linkin park were never emo you pleb

>emo

what a fucking pleb

reminder that mcr had top tier boipucci and this is the true reason patricians listened to them

just look at him desu

...

jesus
i still wanna lick his face

NOT
FUCKING
EMO

He's like 40 dude.

yes, dude, that's not emo

>2007 was 26 years ago

FALL OUT BOY ISNT EMO
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE ISNT EMO
PANIC! AT MY ASSHOLE ISNT EMO

FUCK ALL OF YOU ITS POP-PUNK

...

still looks young
how do some people manage to look young past their 40s

once a baby face, always a baby face. some of us are just blessed i guess

>pre-danger days MCR
>pop
Boy...

tbs is emo

...

not only he's still young-looking, but still such a qt

it's emo as long as people say it's emo because that's how genres work

i know right

It's pop-punk/alternative rock

This is now a qt3.14 Gerard thread

give me one good reason MCR broke up

protip: you fucking can't

every band breaks up

Man, the 2000's sucked ass

explain Weezer.

shut up, underage.

But that's when you were born

They got tired of the whole thing, Bob(drummer) turned into a bitch, Mikey got suicidal, Gerard started drinking again, everyone was ready to move on and have a rest, etc.

They better get back together by 2020

yeah, better.
Not.

If American Football did, I'm sure MCR will

Also, people grow out of the teenage angst, If you're not gonna off yourself then you have to stop hating yourself and the world at some point, which results in moving on.

>even tho i wish they were still together
>deep down
>deep
>deep
>down

>people grow out of their angst

not really

>tfw no gerard-qt bf

I don't think they ever will, I hope they don't so the fantasy they left behind doesn't fade away - because it will if they get back together.

BUT, the whole Killjoy storyline from Na Na Na is based in 2019, soooooooo.

All these triggered emos.
The 2000s were just the hangover from the '90s.

>throwing away your legacy because your tired of it

this is not ok.

(((You)))
Nothing ITT is emo

your bait is weak.

Good for them

Every decade is a hangover from the previous one, stop with the bullshit and ENJOY THE NOW my good man

Every good thing comes to an end, instead of smearing it around for another decade like Green Day (love them, but hey) they stopped at a perfect time and earned more resprect than any other artist in their realm

>Most of the popular emo songs were released at least ten years ago
boi

where do I start with MCR? I just know a bunch of singles

or gf, he's basically a girl of the band, soo

also

this pic makes me scream

>thepiratebay.se
>My Chemical Romance discography
>start from the beginning
>enjoy the ride

Or just take The Black Parade and spin it once and think about it

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge

then The Black Parade (their magnum opes)

then wait a bit before listening to Danger Days, and keep in mind the stylistic change is intentional and enjoy it

then listen to Conventional Weapons

then finally go back and listen to I Brought You My Bullets

Linkin Park is 150% not emo

honestly Green Day never became complete shit like Weezer did, they're rather consistent.

happy to see Weezer become good again though

>MCR
>Emo

The 00's want its memes back, OP.

CRAWWWWWLLLLING IN MY SKKKIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNN

THESE WOOOOOUNDS

THEY WIIIILL

NOT HHEEEEAAAAAAL

this is more edgy and emo then MCR ever was

but they did that as a band, see Danger Days

Green Day is still good but they don't have the thing they used to have, and that's totally fine, but they don't have it anymore, which I think is fine, but they just don't have that thing anymore.

how is it edgy? edge is supposed to be shocking and offensive, LP just wrote about feeling bad or angry and complicated relationships

His physical similarity with Billy Corgan is astonishing, only he has hair.

is 25 to enjoy MCR? I used to listen to jimmy eat world and the get up kids back in the days but that was like eight years ago

neither of those bands are emo. You clearly don't know what you're talking about so you should probably go read an article.

jesus the trips
congrats man

Danger Days is imo their way of saying goodbye in a way that they're done with the whole image, which was kind of an interlude into their solo careers (Gerard's comics more than anything)

I mean, is 25 too late?

age-appropriate musical taste is just a meme, don't worry
it comes solely from corporate narratives and that tipper gore idea that listening to something makes you become that something

Gerard and ray were 25 when they decided to make MCR, you're never too old man

Pop-punk you aspie not just pop

So true. Also, I think that people who have a need to age-restrict musical taste are just too old at heart to truly enjoy and understand music, or are just insecure

MCR is timeless

you're literally never too old for any kind of music, just enjoy what you want

I still listen to blink-182 more than any other artist.

besides, MCR isn't juvenile or anything, just angsty. they just unfortunately became victim to many terrible fangirls that kinda gave them the same stigma American Idiot Green Day and Fall Out Boy had.

despite the fans, the music is honestly top notch

The Black Parade is one of the best rock albums of the 00s

I'm honestly having such a great time in this thread

T H A N K Y O U

checkem dipshits

>unghh

>i think emo's a pile of shit
>said by mcr's vocalist

I bet there's a whole army of men who are gay for gerard

bc they are not emo? emo is a byproduct of mcr(and other band)'s actually original content. its a follower that goes after a true leader

that is not emo, mate. please inform yourself.

you win that bet my friend

Yeah and the 90s were the worst shit of all

>emo is a byproduct of mcr original content
just kill yourself
youtube.com/watch?v=RG2FFpI5K3s

lumping in emo with pop-punk was a mistake

it's ok that they think that people calling them emo is bullshit, but, like it's been said a lot of times in this thread, people get confused over the term "emo".
That's why we all get triggered when someone calls those bands emo, while they may be seen as "scene" or "edgy", or whatever, emo is a musical genre on it's own and it's not associated with those bands.

true i guess

wasn't emo just dumbed down whiny post-hardcore, whereas mcr was pop punk with a goth vibe

MCR isn't dead they're just taking a break like Fall Out Boy did

you thought emo was a byproduct of mcr I suggest you educate yourself and or kill yourself

Nostalgia is the true opiate of the masses.

I was not into the emo genre of music when it was current (mostly because at the time I was a strict dad rock enthusiast) but I was exposed to it by proxy from friends playing it at their house and the radio on the bus. I recently looked up the phrase 'cut my wrist and black my eyes' because I wasn't sure if it was something to mock the emo folk or if it was something that originated from that culture.

Then I remembered that Ohio is for Lovers by Hawthorne Heights existed. It's interesting to experience nostalgia for something you didn't at all care for in the first place.

I have at the time and still play Yu-Gi-Oh!, for the record.

he probably didn't mean the genre as a whole you fucking idiot.

damn...

it's true, mate, emo is a genre. a genre i like ;^)
anyways, i won't give you shit like other people on this thread lol
have a nice day / night or whatever. (and a nice life (bc i'm a sensitive fella)).

really activates the almonds

"""""""""""emo"""""""""""

youtu.be/FQoqzHlHmgY

ANYWAY, back to the main qt

why is he so obsessed with vampires?

He and his brother were really into "bad" slashers and zombie movies, their mom was a weirdo who showed them horror movies and colected dolls and shit. Also, vampires have a rich 'history' and stories and mistery connected to them, plus amating visuals.

that lasted only for an album man

why am i still in this thread?

ooh, right

Ryan Ross returns to panic when???
