Ive got too many to post pics

Are those yours?

Yup. My music room.

Shit man. I would love to get my hands on a '79 Les Paul Custom. I'm low on money right now so I'm rolling with an Epiphone but it's not half bad.

I've got toom any also. 25ish. too may to post pics. Unless there's interest.

The best guitar ever made is the guitar played by the best guitarist. If you can't make a Chinese Epi sound good, than you sure as hell can't make a vintage Gibson sound good. Stop fucking worrying about gear son and get good.

Models/year?

Post

>wasting thousands of dollars on sub-par instruments

kek

Post more axes. I've got Gibson's,Fenders, G&L's, Ibanez, Jackson..I love guiars.

Trust me. You can't make a Chinese made knockoff sound good even if you're Slash

Utterly subjective, like trying to argue who the best guitarist is or who the hottest woman is.

Nice guitars though. Love the silverburst.

>no whammy bar
> best guitar ever made
hahah that's a good one op
how am I supposed to lay down some FAT surf music with that useless crap

kek

and this is why this shit is totally subjective

>MAPLE FRETBOARD
too much want

...

Is that an Adam Jones smoke box Les Paul?

I've got subpar instruments and previous pic related. Agree that a good guitarist can make a Rogue sound nice. Just looking for guitar porn is all.

nigga you blind? That's rosewood

Here's my baby girl, Lilo. I know it's pretty shitty but that's what I get for being poor
I'm the whammy bar fag by the way

>e best g
'77 LP Maple w/ maple fretboard, '90 tobaccoburst, and ''79 silverburst.

What sort of wood was used for the fretboard on the far left? That doesn't look like rosewood to me.

Don't know anything about smokebox, but it's a '79 silverburst. Serial # 7268966X.

oh shit yeah sorry i actually am blind
ignore post pls

Ebony.

i like it!

newer lp customs use some kind of synthetic wood that seems kind of like particle board
what do you think of this?

thanks dude
here's a prettier pic of her

Nothing wrong with inexpensive guitars. Everything wrong with not learning how to play what you have. Love jag/stangs.

why would you just have 3 of the same guitar? I've got a guitar with humbuckers, one with single coils, one with p-90s, and one with an acoustic pickup.

I can't imagine spending all my money on the same basic guitar.

do you know some pretty sick power cords?

Didn't Gibson's QC go to shit by 79? They came oit with a lot of trash in the 70's and 80's. I've bought/sold a couple hundred axes and the best guitars I've ever owned/played were custom shop ESP, and every Robin I've laid hands on.
I've had vintage Gibsons, Fenders, every Jap brand you can think of, Carvin, 80's BC Rich, a Suhr, Couple Schecters (old shit, not import), Couple Washburns, a Rand. Robins shit on them all for a production guitar

Ah....I thought that was a custom paintjob of his since I was a kid....

yeah I just get kinda shy with all the gibsons, but thanks hehe
and despite not looking too good she has a heavely tone. the pickups are original from 1982

Here's my Jackson Kelly Pro. Had it for 22+ years.

Not a huge fan, although I have 2012 LP studio. First LP that I owned, and doesn't sound bad at all. Just object to the idea of it.

Because guitar. The sickest. They're so sick you wouldn't even believe it.

Is that a Pro or an XL? Nice guitar, I had a Fusion Pro that was awesome. I regret letting that one go.

QC is a huge issue with Gibson. They ebbed and flowed with good affordable instruments and poor quality overpriced ones. 79 was a good year. 80 - 82 transitioned, and 83-87 were really bad. Before that, 71 had good guitars, 73-76 were spotty. All that's to say that a good guitar is good, and a bad one is bad. No hard and fast rules.

that is pretty darn close
probably what happened is it was one of his favs so made his signature model similar

Pro. I've only seen one other. Neck-thru body design. And sparkle green metallic FTW.

I own very expensive guitars, and a yamaha pacifica PAC012 (my first guitar, 13 years old).
My yamaha remains my number one.

This.

He's pretty well-known for playing 78, 79, and 80 LPC Silverbursts. I'm sure they're legit.

One of my fist two was a Yamaha RGX 421D. A knockoff of am Ibanez RG570. Yamaha makes good instruments.

Lionheart Prometheus 8 string. Dis mine.

oh my bad i assumed from user's post that he had a signature guitar that he called the "smokebox"

1958 Gibson Flying V master race.

damnnnnnnnn thats beautifukl

Cheers m9, complete custom job

(OP) Only extended range I've got is an Ibanez 7 string. Have an Epiphone G1275 and a couple 12 strings also...That's a pretty neck and pickups, though.

Korina. No doubt.

...

Nico?

> You can't make a Chinese made knockoff sound good even if you're Slash

wrong

I have a 7 string agile, and a 6 string Epi Lee Malia. They're OK.

OP. Here's a few more. Rest are in storage. Again, not about who has what. Just love guitar pornography.

Mostly right...

I've been learning on a piece of shit acoustic and its time for me to get a proper guitar. Any suggestions on how to choose one or what I should look out for when demoing? Nylon or steel? Are those hybrid acoustics with pickups any good?

If it's true, you are my new guitarfriend...

Damn bro, this is my dream guitar, lucky you!
Enjoy it for everybody that cant

'91 Ibanez RG770DX in Ruby Red. All original Golden Era Ibanez. Also have a 60s MIJ Tele, an '89 Charvel that someone modded to hell, and some less interesting pieces.

wish i could afford a gibson. all i've got is a second hand epiphone

Get a guitar you feel comfortable with, which I know doesn't help....

Nylon only if you plan to play classical.
Acoustic/Electric only if you have an amp. That said, don't limit yourself. If it's A/E and you like it and you don't have an amp, just get the guitar as is. Beyond that, a guitar is as good as you are and as good as you want it to be. If you've got an instrument in mind feel free
to mention it.

Dude what the fuck
Explain

How to guitar

OP here. Play an Epiphone before buying, but they can be every bit as good (minus a couple of points, so I don't get Gibsonfags crucifying me...) as a real Gibson. My Gibson double neck is an Epiphone...

You can make a cheap guitar sound good if you're Jimmy Page.

Or even Slash.

I don't know how to explain. I've got a Christfuckington of guitars, and these are most of them. The three in the recliner are the three from (OP). The drums are my bro's. I've got a few guitar amps. I'm an addict, I guess.

This is true.

But just like epis, play a gibson before u buy first.

You can get an awesome epi or a really crappy one, and the same goes for gibsons.

Luck of the draw with standard editions imo.

Special edition epis and gibs are a safe buy most of he time.

Basically if u dont like an epi, dont expect to like gibsons either.

How long have u been collecting them?
Are u rich?

I love Ibanez guitars. Especially from late 80's to 1993.

No. Lemme tell you why. A guitar I bought from a vendor in China developed rust on the pickups after 3 months. After 4 months, the control knobs were toast. After a year, the output jack died on me.
If you'd never been dealt a Chinese lemon, shut the fuck up.

(OP) Or some jackwaggoner. There aren't that many good guitarists that can do what they do. But there are plenty of good musicians that can move one to tears through guitar.

I've never really liked Les Pauls

Here's my Jim Root signature Telecaster. Plays very nice. The guitar is built for low drop tunings like B and A#

I play in standard and string it with 10s.
Fuck the police

>flub flub flub flub flub flub

Not especially rich. Just smart with money. Been playing guitar since i was 12, which was 1990. One or so a year since then. I had a poor family, but I went to college for engineering. There's nothing special about it, just enjoy guitars.

The best guitars ever made are the ones I've made.

Adam doesn't have a signature model, he only uses a 79 les Paul silverburst

Damn, I'd like to try that thing.

Mine

You should not have left your guitar in the rain.

But I understand you were unable to make it sound good while it worked.

Keep practicing - you'll get there.

User preference. I like teles, but only in the context of Pink Floyd/Animals, some Soundgarden and a few others, mostly drop tunings. That said. Great guitar for what you're doing.

Agreed. Ive acquired guitars with rusty pickups, and they've sounded great once cleaned up.

I like that vintage look. Especially when the fretboard is beat up and darkened from lots of love. I had an opportunity to buy a mint green tele, but I chickened out.
I don't think I'm cool enough to pull it off

Ever heard of iron?
That'll rust no matter you leave it in the air or bloody saltwater.
Unless you got a vacuum chamber in your place where no oxygen can touch it, I doubt you can prevent it from rusting.

We kinda share the same story, only 13 years later lol. I'm also about to get my engineering degree lol

Gibson's are nice, but don't fall for instrument snobbery - it's mostly bullshit for people with more money than talent.

get your Epi properly set up and you're good to go.

Love meeting young engineers. What college are you at? Focus on getting good at your craft, and the rest will come. I'm a civil engineer (the poor ones).

This.
You get diminishing returns. So if you're not comfortable spending 3000 on a guitar, you're not really that worse off by buying a decent one in your price range.

> kek
Doesn't sounds like a garden to me!

Wah wah wah wahhhhhhhhh

Man, swapping out pickups, pots and jacks is so fucking difficult.

I bet even an expert luthier would have trouble with those kind of repairs.

i always thought leaning the guitar on the headstock (like the silverburst is) was bad for it.

play everything you can. really sit with it and get to know every part of it, weight, action, sound, also look for fret buzz. if there is a bit but you still love the guitar you can get that fixed later. personally ovation guitars were always my favorite acoustics, the rounded backs can be weird to sit with though

Except that it's not worth the cost of repairing a fucking $350 hongkong dollar worth of a guitar you dumb fuck.
I only bought it because I wanted something to strum on during my travels.

>710212189
if you ever feel the need to purge your addiction, feel free to give me your mesa head.

(OP) Agreed on that. Musical instruments are like tools. It doesn't make sense to use a phillips head screwdriver on a carriage bolt. Buying the right tool for the job is money well spent, and there are plenty of good less expensive guitars that get that done.

Meet Rose. I just got her 2 weeks ago

But like I said, I don't play in any low tunings. 90% of the time I play in E standard. I'll occasionally bust out a drop-D or even DADGAD if I'm feeling frisky but I hardly ever go lower.
I'm more into the funk/blues/jazz/prog than that really heavy metal or grunge

(OP) There really isn't any better advice than this...

>$350

$350 hongkong dollars you braindead scumfuck. Search it up on google how much that's worth is USD.
