They're both about 20cm below sea level. The right side (IJselmeer, lake in the north) is ~5,5m deep, the left side (Markermeer, in the south) is 2-4m deep.

It was very expensive. You can swim at some parts probably. And of course can you visit it. It's a public road, I drove over it 8 times this week.
