im about to give the accelerator ep a listen. what should i expect? any ratings on it, reviews, opinions?
oh wait its like 2 songs. this is kinda cool, paul and danny are a match made in heaven.
I host an internet radio station, I do talk every once in a while.. Tonight I'm doing 90's hip-hop I'm in my southern set rn tune in at mrbluesky.caster.fm
also let me know if you have any suggestions
Just atrocity exhibitions b sides
Definitely cool but not much more than just cool
yeah, i just gave it a go. i figured it'd be at least 4 tracks, but oh well, i liked it. ae was my favorite album last year.
i went to an rtj concert in la a little while ago, and he showed up on bumaye. what a moment.
I just cant get into danny brown. I get the appeal but so many of the songs and his voice just sound so abrasive. I guess its just not for everyone but I feel like I'm missing out on what people are calling one of the best hip-hop albums of the year
im listening in right now.
this is cool and you should keep doing it.
thanks m8 :)
youtube.com
it's pretty cool how chill rtj is with the audience
I have literally never listened to hip hop. recommend me something
they blew my expectations out of the water. that was honestly the best concert i've ever been to. it was even better than death grips on 4/20 last year, just barely.
kanye west - my beautiful dark twisted fantasy
the perfect entry level hip hop album

your post is a bait post designed to derail the thread
your next line will be a criticism
So after hopping on that honor killed the samurai bandwagon, i'm going to dive into ka's discography. problem is, earlier works tend to be less appealing to me since the artists tend to sound rougher and not as polished, which can have its own charm, but i tend to not like it. night's gambit sounds good from the couple of songs i listened to, but i hear dr yen lo isn't very good? and i've heard nothing about grief pedigree. thoughts on those 2 projects?
what genres do you like?
pretty fun stuff, im a nu kendrick fan
It's all opinion, definitely check out some of the stuff from XXX and Old where he uses his normal voice and work in from those.
there's an honor killed the samurai bandwagon?
I'd just listen to Night's Gambit in full and then Grief Pedigree, and if you want more do yen lo and earlier
i like both
dr yen lo is definitely only for fans that listen to all of his stuff though.
grief pedigree is less polished but i like it for ka's sound. my favorite ka album.
night's gambit is like a more polished version of grief pedigree. i would say start there
night's gambit then grief pedigree then dr yen lo if you still want more
yeah old was easily my favorite. like I can appreciate atrocity exhibition and just how diverse the sounds and how raw some of they lyricism is. but I guess its just not for me. I feel the same way about death grips. I just find them so uncomfortable to listen to
Any recs from the past few months?
All I've heard new since november is Run The Jewels 3 and DROGAS Light
I don't think there's such thing as anything impossible to grow on
Just try not to focus on his voice and focus on the song as a whole. You'll probably get used to it.
Turning the volume up or down may help depending on which type of person you are.
I'm not going to try to force myself to like it lol. Theres plenty of other stuff id rather listen to.
the "stockholm syndrome music" meme needs to die
either you complain about not being able to get into it or you complain about being told how you might be able to enjoy it
do not reply
listen to when it rain or paul white - accelerator, those both are really good songs, or get hi if you want something mellow and not as abrasive
yeah it made a top 5 on a few of the dehh peoples year end list so i gave it a shot. was blew away by the instrumental choices on the first few tracks, and then started noticing the lyrics/content/theme were top notch, and some of the things he says are simple but stick with you. then saw the just video and was hooked. ended up being one of my favorite projects last year too, still listening to it.
figured as much, artists with short discogs tend to get better with time. just wanted to know i wasn't in for too big of a shock.
thanks to both of you, bought 2 other albums in the past few years, nights gambit will be the 3rd
Floss by Injury Reserve
C U L T U R E by Migos
>the perfect entry level hip hop album
illmatic, ghostface's supreme clintele, or TPAB
anderson .paaks new album
I'm glad Ka got some good exposure from DEHH.
He deserves it
Shit, I did listen to floss and I saved a few tracks. And I listened to Bad and Bougee and T-Shirt on youtube and one of my friends said not to bother with the rest.
Bedwetter
Paul White / Danny Brown Accelerator EP
kelly price, big on big, call casting, and culture are all great songs
Anyone want me to post the essencial charts I made (with the help of Sup Forums of course) ?
Oh shit, you mean Yes Lawd!(?) I forgot that dropped, listening to that right now.
Your friend has shit taste
youtube.com

Ok I won't then. See ya.
These are my favorites albums, recommend me something
how to into hop chart
its a weird chart but it gets the job done
Underrated hip hop albums:
Blowout Comb
The Ecstatic
Rodeo
Tronic
Soul on Ice
Man, Gaslamp Killer was amazing at my show.
I was like, "Who the fuck is this?" But by the end of his set I was chewing at the bit to somehow get a load of the mixes he played. Not gonna happen tho, and it makes me sad as hell.
I was a 50 fan back in the day and kevin gate's Islah was one of my faves last year.
where's industrial hiphop?
Definitely gonna check out the second. And I'm not a Lil Ugly Mane fan, thought I did like parts of Third Side of the Tape
you seem like you're trying to impress Sup Forums, so i'd recommend some Neutral Milk Hotel or Radiohead
10s hop
Maxo Kream
Death Grips
Joey Bada$$
right under waka flocka
Holy SHIT thank you so much for reminding me of this.
00s
Yes Lawd confirmed GOAT
one death grips album doesn't count for all of industrial but its fine since it's a beginnercore
90s
clipping is under death grips
i'm sure there's an industrial chart somewhere
80s
in la they brought out danny brown, zack de la rocha, travis barker, gangsta boo, boots and joi
it just kept getting better and better
leave it to herbieanon to get autistic when he refuses to post a chart and then someone posts it for him
Well fuck you too, but DESU I used Gangsta Boo's set a bathroom break.
Where "A Prince Among Thieves"???
You're right, you're right. My fuck up. I apologize.
Wait, since when the fuck does TEE-BEE-AYCH turn into DESU?
>tfw run the jewels will never come back to texas with danny brown, boots, joi, de la rocha, travis barker, gangsta boo, and chest rocka
>Wait, since when the fuck does TEE-BEE-AYCH turn into DESU?
over a year ago since faggots would use t-b-h overtly and feel comfortable using it
I'm a disgusting cross-boarder, it isn't filtered on Sup Forums.
dark fantasy is better then tpab
yes it is, its a site wide ban
includes
t-b-h
s-m-h
f-a-m
they're unnecessary vernacular anyway
they're both perfect entry level albums
m.youtube.com
I can't think of ONE album to come out in the last ten years as revolutionary as this one
baka desu senpai
S.M.H.T.B.H.SENPAI.
what went so fucking right?
Yes!
Is famo banned too?
>they dont go on Sup Forums for years on end
Blowout Comb is a classic.
Also Rodeo is super popular

Haha suck it mods famo is better anyways
FAMO

Listened to Kno's second solo album recently. Pretty underwhelmed 2bh.
the eff ayy emm ban is the only that's taken on a life of its own. famo, fampai, famillia, famalamadingdong, etc.

a lot of God-tier releases for hiphop in 15'

youtube.com

soundcloud.com

Illmatic
Good Kid Mad City
What's some GOOD interesting hip-hop being made today?
OPs pic would def be related
the definition of suburban hip-hop
revisiting the coup tonight. Boots built koolad and kendrick
wish tom morello would come back to the genre
bedwetter only has a few vocal tracks, though they are very high quality, bedwetter has alot in common with third side of tape.
gonna see him live later this month
>Eminem has the most emotion and soul in his music
>B.I.G has the greatest flow of all time
>Big L would have been the GOAT if he was alive for one or two more albums
>Nas during Illmatic and It Was Written was the greatest thing to happen to Hip Hop
>Kendrick Lamar is top 10 of all time already
Try to prove me wrong
Pac had more emotion than Em.
I don't know much about flow but I prefer rapid-fire flows like Tech N9ne and Tonedeff, or even Pun. Not gonna say if they beat Biggie or not.
Big L was absolutely incredible. Would have annihilated the competition if he got his time to shine.
Agree with the Nas thing. Also, his newer albums are extremely underappreciated.
K.Dot is pretty good.
why is spaceghostpurrp on these? might as well add pink guy as well.
sgp started a huge wave. Show some respect. He could be great if he wasn't sick.
What the fuck? This came out in October and I never heard of it.
