worst conference?

CBS Sports:
"Last year, Week 2 actually produced a number of unexpectedly close games, including #6 Auburn's 27-20 overtime victory over Jacksonville State [guess who LSU plays this weekend? That's right, Jacksonville State...that 2015 Auburn team went 7-6 in their 3rd year under Gus Malzahn and their only year with Will Muschamp as DC...Muschamp is now South Carolina's head coach]
And it was two years ago [on Week 2] when Virginia Tech went into Columbus and shocked #8 Ohio State 35-21" [that 2014 VT team went 7-6 while Ohio State went on to become the 2014 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS]

You like 500 yards passing? You got 500 yards passing. Want 17 points in the final two minutes? They're yours. Late-night kickoffs in Week 2 are excellent. Texas Tech @ Arizona State (10 p.m. ET) could hit 100 total points... by the third quarter.

...

What's the shortest time a team has ever gone from winless to championship?

Good to see Virginia Tech is rolling out the ugliest uniforms known to man

Washington State @ Boise.State (10:15 p.m. ET) is mixing Mike Leach and, well, Boise State. Expect at least two trick plays and probably a failed two-point conversion that's taken back by the defense for a score. Someone's going to pass for 400 yards in this game and still lose.

Ted Miller @ TedMillerRK

Boise State has won 5 straight home games vs Pac-12. Last Pac-12 foe to win on blue turf was Washington State in its last visit in 2001.

You forgot Chris Evans from Michigan. 8 carries, 112 yards and 2 TD's.

Maryland played 14 true freshmen of 68 players overall (21%) in its season-opening home win against the FCS Howard Univ. Bison from Washington DC. It was the most true freshmen used by the Terps since at least 2001. In fact, only in 2012 did more than 14 true freshmen see action in the entire season (15) since 2001.

The 96th edition of the Holy War is upon us!

#34/35 BYU at #28/29 Utah in Salt Lake City...Utah is favored by 3 at home

BYU, which is in Provo, Utah , and the University of Utah, which is in Salt Lake City , are about 50 miles (80 km) apart and approximately an hour's drive away on Interstate 15. Consequently, the two teams compete for recruits and fan support. It is not uncommon for friends, neighbors, and even family members to have opposite allegiances.

BYU at Utah (6:30 p.m. ET). The Holy War is intense. perhaps more so than people realize nationally. Conference realignment is an especially touchy subject here with Utah now among the Power Fives while BYU hopes desperately it receives an invite to join the Big 12.

Pure entertainment and off-the-charts intensity is what you can expect when BYU and Utah face off on a football field. The Holy War has grown into one of the nation's fiercest rivalries because of a series of memorable plays and dramatic finishes over the years. Incredible records, fantastic individual performances and unique lore are tied up in the history of one of the nation's most underrated college football rivalries.

One thing that has made the Holy War one of the nation's best rivalries is the sheer amount of the games that have gone down to the wire in recent seasons. Twelve of the last 15 games between BYU and Utah have been decided by a touchdown or less. Incredibly, the game has been decided on the final play four different times in that stretch.

The Mormons will unleash their Mormon wizardry. I just hope their power crystals are charged from last year's bullfuckery.

Bullforkey, please.

If they are wearing their magic pajamas, they will be fine. The magic mormon man in the sky will bless them with a win, because he has nothing better to do with all his might and glory.

How the fuck is Texas ranked all the way to 11th in one week?

The AP is retarded as fuck I'm glad it's irrelevant after half the season now

holy shit, that's the worst case of little brother syndrome i've ever seen. we're not our biggest rival's biggest rival, but at least we're not that desperately lookatmelookatmelookatmeeeee tier.

go dawgs

...

Jameis Winston is a fucking legend, all other QB's BTFO

AP couldn't admit that their rankings are really bullshit & it over-ranked Notre Dame and LSU, so they made Wisconsin and Texas #10 & #11.

Why can't I find football players in my higher calculus and engineering courses?

I'm wondering how MSU fans feels about this? like the fact that your coaching staff/dantonio thought this was a good idea

Because you don't go to Stanford.

I feel like those are some good pickems.

overreacting on tenn
i like the rest though

same with wisconsin at 10. they have to pretend like their preseason rankings weren't pants-shittingly bad, so they overreact to the results when their top teams lose
>lsu, nd top 10
>both lose
>"they don't suck, the teams that beat them are that good, lol!"

...

Yes I don't go to Stanford. I go to UGA.

Then you asked the dumbest question of all time.
>Why don't I see football players taking challenging courses on top of practices, workouts, meetings, film study, gameplanning, plus media obligations for star players.

You are so dumb, you deserve to be put down. Enjoy your degree from a shitty school. Maybe if you light it on fire, it can keep you warm when you are homeless. At least then it will have done something for you.

>tfw mom wins tickets for Saturday at her work and I get to watch my tem bootyblast a literallywho

why dont i see you in the summer running down sanford drive with 15 of your teammates?

Wait? is 10 "most confident" and 1 "least confident"???

They'll be losing to Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio State, and Illinois this year, so no.

>Illinois

Illinois is literally winning it all this year. Would these dubs lie?

Oui

>claiming dubs
>getting singles

Who's gonna watch No Fun League tonight?

i forgot that was on

go buttcos

How much butthurt would there be if Pedo State went 12-0 and won a natty?

Gotta watch for fantasy. G-go panthlels!

Pretty good, but I would be surprised if they beat Temple this year t b h

The little boys on here would be butthurt, but us regular Joe Paternos wouldn't say much.

>How much butthurt would there be if [TEAM X] went 12-0 and won a natty?

Lol! /cfb/ would be so fucking pissed! Everyone fucking hates them!!!!!!

>implying they don't claim 1955 too

I wouldn't doubt that some Tide fans believe they've won a NC every year that 'Bama existed.

shiiiiiiiit

theres a number of boys that are already butthurt after being anally penetrated by pedo state staff

You'll lose to Ohio State, and I'll say you'll drop 2 between Iowa, Illinois, Oregon, and Wisconsin. I'd say you have a good chance of going 8-4, 9-3 a lesser chance but still realistic. Wisconsin and Iowa are probably overrated and will probably be fringe top 25 teams, Wisconsin definitely your toughest "winnable" game. I don't know anything about Oregon or Illinous honestly, but I bet both of them will be inconsistent. I'm guess you'll beat Oregon on a fluke, and Illinous, and then lose to Iowa in a bad game and lose to Wisconsin predictable.

With Franklin? Not a fucking chance

How can he be the greatest coach of all time at Vandy and mediocre at PSU?

Lmao, did Sandusky rape you or something? Always so butthurt about PSU.

...

Guys what if Grip n Sip beats Alabama

Nebraska has gotten at least 9 wins in 7 of the last 8 seasons. Vegas had Nebraska's over/under at 8.5 wins this year (not sure if that includes the bowl game)

...

The polls have always been irrelevant the first half of the season other than just something fun to debate and discuss

The recruiting sanctions and depleted roster don't help, and he also had the benefit of a couple easy schedules at Vandy to make himself look better than he was.

Also, expectations are a lot higher for PSU than Vanderbilt.

If you were eager to find an early game that could be the best indicator for the rest of the Cal Football season look no further than this Saturday. The Cal Bears face their first major test, on the road, against the 2015 Mountain West champion San Diego State Aztecs.

Meanwhile, Cal at #30/35 San Diego State (10:30 p.m. ET) is a good opportunity to see one of the more underrated players in the country, Aztecs running back Donnel Pumphery, who will be going up against a Cal defense that allowed 6.53 yards per rush... against Hawaii.

Cal’s offense hasn’t seemed to miss a beat without Jared Goff, but their defense is back to its usual shaky self and will be full of question marks all season.

Texas Tech transfer QB Davis Webb is leading the Cal offense now. Webb had a good debut in Game 1, throwing aggressively against the Rainbow Warriors, completing 38-of-54 passes for 441 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also ran for a score, too.

Cal blogger: The story for Cal is the same as it has been for the last three years: score a lot of points and hope for the best. ... I expect the offense to put a lot of points on the board. ... I can see the defense letting the Aztecs score almost every possession in the first half, then improving in the second half.

SAN DIEGO -- Drive east on Montezuma Road toward the back end of San Diego State's campus and you'll see Aztecs running back Donnel Pumphrey -- all 52 feet of him -- with giant "Pumphrey for Heisman" type above him on a banner hanging from a campus dorm.
It's impossible to miss.

Since the start of the 2013 season, no active FBS running back has more rushing yards (4,370) or rushing touchdowns (46) than Pumphrey. The Golden Bears are the only Power 5 team on SDSU's docket for 2016, so if the Aztecs want to be in the conversation for a New Year's 6 bowl game, they'll have to run the table. And if Pumphrey wants even a dusting of Heisman attention, he's going to have to put up big numbers against Cal.

msu

You better booty blast Tech

Any games on tonight? I don't see any

Good news and bad news for Michigan State

good news:
>MSU has a bye week this week to give them 2 weeks to prepare for their big road trip to Notre Dame (meanwhile Notre Dame doesn't have that luxury as they play the University of Nevada this week)
>MSU senior QB Tyler O’Connor (the guy who beat Ohio State last year) was great in Game 1 with an 122.7 NFL QB rating and 3 TDs
>and MSU RB Scott ran for over 100 yds with over 5.0 ypc and 1 TD

The bad news was that Mich State struggled with penalties in Gm 1 which is why they were only up 21-13 until 5 minutes left in 4th quarter last week vs the FCS Furman Paladins from Greenville, SC (who were 4-7 last year and 3-9 the year before that)

Mich State only outgained Furman 361 yards to 226
And Michigan State only had 4 scoring drives while allowing 3 scoring drives by Furman (TD, FG, FG)

The MSU drives
>TD
>killed by sack and failed 3rd down conversation
>killed by 10 yard holding penalty and missed 43 yard FG
>killed by 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty
>killed by 10 yard holding penalty
>TD (overcame a 10 yard holding penalty)
>killed by lost fumble
>TD (began drive on 42 with good field position)
>killed by 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and INT on 3rd and 16
>TD (overcame a 10 yard holding penalty)

Nothing till tomorrow, desu

Maryland-FIU 6:30 CT
