i've been riding dirt bikes for about 18 years though, this is my first street bike
Stay safe man, not sure how you ride as a new guy but don't push yourself too hard. Looking back on the way I rode my R6 honestly kind of scares me.

getting a bike for christmas this year from my family
will I outgrow the Harley 883 (is it too small)
or should I aim for a bit higher? (bigger CC)
Dont get a cruiser. Get a standard bike, you wont learn to corner on a foot forward cruiser.
I don't live there, that's my mother's house.
would the roadster be a better alt?

If you're dead set on spending too much money on a slow bike, then yes. But seriously, you dont need a 1000+CC engine on your first bike. Get something you can throw around like an fz6 or sv650.
I would really love to drive bikes one day, are they worth it? Will I need a motorcycle licence to buy one?
They're absolutely worth it, nothing quite like it to be honest.
When you're driving a car for the most part it's just a device to get you to your destination. When you're riding a bike, the destination is the last place you want to be, it's all about the journey.
You feel connected to the road and the bike, it's the most liberating feeling I've ever experienced, I'd rather ride than have sex if I had to choose, it's that profound.
Also no, you can buy whatever you want and you don't need a license, to ride it however that is a different story.
the fastest i've gone so far is 250km/h. i ride pretty fast but not reckless
oohhh that looks nice, where's that?
> dat ride
Damn, that does sound pretty great, I've always been fascinated by motorcycles. I don't really know much about bikes but I really would want a sports bike, think you can recommend a bike for me to look at?
I have a bicycle
The new 2017 CBR's actually look really good for once.

total newfag to bikes here. been wanting to get either a klr650 or a nighthawk 750 and turn it into a desert sled type of deal. any opinions? thoughts? ideas?
I started with a a Yamaha R6, however I had very extensive dirtbike/quad experience prior so I was very familiar with the general idea.
Go to a local racetrack if you have one and sign up for some training courses, get comfortable on a 300cc bike first to get the basics and then move up to a 600cc.
pretty sure this virgin is from here
same with this fag
Sounds good! Anything else I should do? And doing all this including buying the bike how much would all of this round to? At least a guestamate so I can get an idea for the price of all this

about tree fiddy
I like the older CBRs from 03-06 but yeah the new 1000 looks mean. Too bad politicians killed the 600.
It will be several hundred for the training sessions and they have all the bikes there, out the door for a new R6 you're looking at about $13,000, for a used one of recent years and low miles $7,000-$8,000.
Oh, you must live in Europe, I heard they discontinued the CBR 600 there, RIP.
2006 Honda Shadow 750
1 year, crashed, some nigger pulled in front of me, totaled, haven't had another motorcycle since.
Thanks user, hopefully one day I'll ride. Appreciate the help
...
If you were an observant person you would notice that I removed my passenger rearsets, I don't want passengers on my bike whatsoever, girlfriend included.
NZ, but most of our imports are from Japan and EU so no idea if we will get the CBR600RR anymore. As long as Suzuki keeps making the GSXR750 we should be ok though.

I would not ride a harley with less than 1200cc
And it depends on your height. Sportsters are too small for me, but dynas are a good size. But quite a bit more expensive than your 883.
Also some user said something about not learning to corner on a forward control bike, id tend to agree. Ive got mid mount pegs on mine so you can actually ride it properly around corners.
