>die Schande von Lippstadt

what are you on about? what did Rummenigge do?

Fuck off Rummenigger! Why aren't you in Mail?

He supports the new CL format where the top 4 German/Spanish/English/Italian teams reach the top 4 automatically.

.t Die Linke Voter

*reach the group stage automatically

And he support the closed CL format too

Is this /bundes/?

I can't believe that this piece of shit actually believes Bayern have some moral high ground over clubs like City or PSG

Old money clubs are literally the biggest cancer on the sport

>He supports the new CL format where the top 4 German/Spanish/English/Italian teams
better than Ronaldo TSUUUUing all over Malmoe every year desu

Love how this 'historical merit' applies to Man City but not teams like Forest or even Aberdeen.

Super clubs attract the most viewers. The Champions League would be nothing without them.

This. The more Spanish/English/German/Italian teams the better.

There's no reason at all to have small Scandinavian and Eastern European teams there. All they do is lose 5 out of 6 games and then ruin their domestic leagues with CL money

is he a jew?

>it's boring to just ruin the national competition
>let's ruin the international one as well

based buyern

now it is

no, but its founders and first owners were and their tactics still remain today

What we need is a european league with all the best clubs in Europe. Doesn't has to be closed, you can have 3 releguations/promotions like now. Today in many leagues (specially Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga and even in La Liga) there isn't any competition anymore. PSGwins, Juvwins, Bayernwins and Barcawins basically.
Now imagine if every week end you would have Bayern/City, Arsenal/Madrid, PSG/Juv ...etc that would be fucking awesome.
Today in the whole season there's literally 2 matches that are really important for my team and it's the Quarters of the CL, all the rest is irrelevant as fuck and i'm bored senseless.

This cocksucking-epl faggot again.

Mate your burgerbro mentality is astounding.

Disgusting

You can always stop watching you know

Not an argument

...

Fuck off with your shit ideas.

How about not having a bunch of arabs pour shit tons of money into one club and then having other clubs prevented from doing the same?

perfectly put, my venezuelan firend

Aberdeen only ever got to the semi's though

Good. Clubs from smaller nations are never going to be able to compete financially anyway so who gives a fuck?

Why don't top 4 players of the Portuguese league also qualify automatically?
Our top 3 is better than Italy desu.

I'd prefer if they brought back the 3 foreigner rule instead, and made a law that clubs can only spend what they raise in revenue

The TV deals that the big nations get would still BTFO of all the clubs from smaller nations regardless of how much Arab money is put in.

this

>made a law that clubs can only spend what they raise in revenue
That's Financial Fair Play, but i'm not sure how strictly it is being implemented.

>3 foreigner rule instead
Would allow clubs to build up their clubs and keep their top players though. The big nations would probably have an advantage though because per capita.

If you want better intranational competition, you need to increase financial parity. More equitable TV deals and you could start sharing commercial deals and splitting ticket money too.

>FIFA not applying an organizational wide salary cap

What else do you think would happen?

They are 4th in the co-efficient. Isn't it just the top 4 nations which get 4 clubs qualifying automatically? And not Italy et al. as Italy et al?

What would you happen with all the money that didn't go to wages? Would it just inflate transfer fees?

its flawed because a rich owner can sponser their shirts/stadium with their own company, that loophole needs shut.

i want to agree but Zenit and Shaktar are becoming loaded with money

>per capita
While I agree in sports which rely on genetics (such as basketball) there is no reason why it would affect footballing abilitiy. If anything it'll be the countries with the best academies which will prosper.

Take a look at the Swiss for example. Tiny country but tons of great players.

ofnly 2 clubs have managed to win it with 100 % native players, and they are from small countries

That's what makes it good. New investors can come in and shake up the status quo, a la Chelsea and Man City. That's good for competition.

It would give the smaller nations an advantage though, with not having all their players siphoned away. Anyway, I doubt it would happen because of the EU.

Serious question. With all of the communists in Europe, why do you guys refuse to embrace American style salary caps and profit sharing within sports leagues? Is it because the richest teams hold all of the power and oppose it? Or is it because its an American idea and the fans are too insecure to embrace it?

its better than them getting shat all over like what is happening now.

I'll still have the socialist US sports. But you gots to have some kind of relegation. You can't just suck for a first round pick.

sports is better over there. anyone can buy a club and do what they want with it. tank it or send it to the champions league final. over here sports ownership is just a good ol boys club.

for me, the economy in general is better over here. but i'm probably only saying that because i'm not poor.

Whom do you mean by you guys? Do you mean the guys at the top, who actually make the decisions? Or the general fans?

I don't know why people aren't very vocal about something like profit sharing, for example. Seems an easy way to stop Bayernwinslol etc.

there are already restrictions on nationalities within squads, and not every uefa country is in the EU

Well, I won't argue about per capita. But bigger nations should be able to spend much more on academies and youth football.

football is shit now that's why I watch ice hockey

relegation wont work here. people buy franchises to get into the club and revenue streams. theres a long line of people wanting to get into successful sports ownership but no available slots.
competing leagues are snuffed out via anti-competitive practices, one of the few things i actually agree with trump on.
soccer is slightly different here. it's still league run, but there are other leagues, the ncaa isn't really involved, there are lots of foreign players and potentially alternative leagues.
the american sports model is weird.

why?

How is it not?

Just share out among all clubs in your league. And maybe if your league is at the top of the ladder, share out with clubs in the league below you. Just like with the La Liga TV deal: they distribute most the income among he twenty clubs with 10% been shared out to the clubs in the league beneath. Socialistic leagues with relegation. Problem?

I wanted to write something different but were to lazy to type it out.

Ah okay

*I was
I should stop dinking now and go to sleep

Juventuswinslol

I'm Scottish and in fed up with Urga favouring the bigger football nations and fucking us over. Money has ruined the game

Your clubs are just minnows though.

I'd say Celtic and Rangers are bigger than 90% of clubs in the EPL, they've just got fuck all money.

Less money. So they can't compete. What are you gonna do?

Celtic are owned by a billionaire mate.

The Old Firm should just bite the bullet and apply to join the 9th tier of English football. They'd work their way up to a more lucrative and competitive division within a decade or so. Within 20 years they'd be Premier League stalwarts.

If Celtic lose their comfy CL spot by this mega UCL idea, do you think they would?

Imagine a premier league where hull fuck off and Celtic are there instead, like a decade later.

Gonna be completely honest. I've supported Bayern for 22 years no, been to all 5 CL finals we've played since then, used to watch every single match, including friendlies against fucking village teams and even I lost interest in the sport. I really loved the 2 years Dirtmund was winning the league. Loved the humiliation, loved the losses, loved the struggle. But ever since last season I cant even be bothered to watch league games anymore. Its just so fucking boring. Problem is that this isnt even related to Bayern management being so good, its other clubs being so goddamn incompetent. Why the fuck arent Hamburg, Hertha, Schalke, Koeln playing on Bayern level? Most of them have equal, partially even better conditions to become successful. Fuck the development of this sport.

Can you or any other Euro explain to me how Bayern ended up as this dominant force?

They are the only ones who didnt fuck up on a regular basis.

Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin are bigger cities, yet all their teams have incompetent managers. Dortmund tried to compete and almost bankrupted itself trying to do so. Then they had to recover from said blunder, which took them almost a decade. Meanwhile Bayern was winning, winning, winning. The biggest difference is that Bayern has the power to just deny transfers. Real, Barcelona, ManU, you name it. They want one of Bayerns player? Not even a point bothering. If the club doesnt want to sell a player they wont do it. And the clubs management is competent enough to make most players WANT to stay. Meanwhile Dortmund has to deal with the fact that they are a feeder club (and most likely always will be).

Bayern has that advantage because over the course of 40 years (ever since Hoeness took over) they never fucked up big time. Never wasted 40m to prove a point, never paid obscene fees etc. Hell, the clubs most expensive transfers have been Vidal and Goetze for 37m each. Because of all this they started to receive support from big, German corporations (Allianz, VW, Adidas, Audi etc.). And now that they have that support there is no way that they will ever lose that advantage.

Good answer thanks.
