It takes extraordinary individuals to rise so much over people and yet not use them for their own ends. There is maybe two or three per century. Roosevelt and De Gaulle come to mind for example.
That's why capitalism and free markets still have their own issues, like how money corrupt absolutely those who have so much they want to change the world according to their ideologies (or simply overdose to get the life thrills they cannot experience anymore).

Libertarianism is not an outcast thing. There are many smart people supporting that ideology that know economics and lawmaking. When you understand the value that liberty has you can see that libertarianism is the best ideology. Your country was funded in very libertarian principles, you were the most libertarian country in your beginings and respected the constitution. Small government=best government.
