The Sky train has been taking a day off for this whole week in preparation for a ferocious attack on the Alto de Aitama, but I don't think Froome will _quite_ make up enough of the time he needs from Quintana.
The story of this Tour will be

I disagree. Quintana rode a fine race, sure, but we all knew that if Froome kept it within 2 minutes he would take the GC on the ITT and play Sky-defense for the few remaning stages.
If they hadn't had made the massive tactical fuck-up of not recognizing a break that contains multiple GC contenders Froome would be getting ready to put on red in a few hours.
I mean, it's not like Sky is a team of clever and subtle strategies.
Quintana would have attacked even more if he didn't succeed in putting over 2 mins on a single stage on Froome.. Quinta was the stronger rider this Vuelta.
Also Froome's team wasn't that strong this time around. He regularly found himself isolated, which never happened in the tour.
Quintana is winnig thanks to that Contador kamikaze attack.

The last guys who won two GTs in a single season were Contador (08) Pantani (98) and Indurain (93).
They were/are all clean riders, all of them.
So it clearly can be done.
