The penultimate stage of the Vuelta and the last one that matters A 193.2 km long with a 21km long summit finish.
After taking a lot of time out of Quintana's lead in yesterday's time trial, the big question on everyone's mind is if Froome can somehow claw back 1 minute 21 seconds from Quintana in this final stage
1. QUINTANA N. 75h 18' 52'' 2. FROOME C. +01' 21'' 3. CONTADOR A. +03' 43'' 4. CHAVES J. +04' 54'' 5. TALANSKY A. +07' 12'' 6. YATES S. +07' 32'' 7. SCARPONI M. +10' 01''
Can Froome make up the approx 90 seconds on the Goat Herder? He fucked up on that time trial yesterday and lost about a minute and a half to Froome.
Jayden Collins
Just an occasional reminder for the cycling fans out there: cycling is literally a sport for cucks and eunuchs. Have a nice day :)
Noah Russell
takes one to know one
Logan Thomas
File this one under "probably not". Quintana has yet been dropped in the mountains, so it's unlikely that Froome suddenly manages to put more than a minute on him. But it'll be fun to see him try anyway and you never know Quintana or his team might have an off day
Robert Lee
He dropped him on le tour but that was the stage he crashed on so we have no way of knowing how much time he could put in to him (think he was at least a min up before the crash). For that alone im optimistic but my moneys on Quintana to make time on froome given recent form if anything
Ryder Mitchell
Quintana wasn't feeling 100% in the tour though, his Vuelta form has been pretty good however

first time i saw that crash
fuck that, fair play
Owen Thomas
>fucked up The little Columbian rode the TT of his life and lost what people expected him to lose. Two years ago he would've bled over three minutes on that same course. Without any crashes Quintana has this one in the bag.

Anyone actually paying attention to the Tour of Britain?
I think someone from Universal Sports TV here in the USA got them as a package deal so right now we get them both (on tape delay)

Oh Sammy Sanchez withdrew after his crash. That's too bad
Carson Taylor
I watch some stages, can be totally shit or good. Coverage is fairly bad, only two motos and the comms make you want to kill yourself. Yesterday was good, Poels rekt everybody easily on the final climb.
Colton Wood
If there is a Pierre Latour then why is there no Juan Lavuelta?

I don't know how to feel about this. It like Quintana trying to make up the time deficit in the last climb during tdf but with roles reversed.

Which rider was the last one to win tour & vuelta in the same year?
What about giro+tour+vuelta?
Luke Murphy
Hinault in 78 won the Tour and Vuelta same year.
No one has won all three in one year.
Connor Smith
thx lad
Benjamin Bennett
Froomey to win the triple next year. Heard it here first.

What do you guys think of Romain Bardet and Thibault Pinot's supposed plans to ride the Giro/Vuelta instead of the Tour?
It makes sense to me. No French team has the money to compete in the Tour, at the moment, but a French GT winner may be the impetus to get the money flowing.
Adam Allen
Hard to challenge Sky during the Tour, whereas the Giro & Vuelta are always way more unpredictable. So they have a realistic chance at winning those, compared to a 5% chance to win the Tour.
Jose Perez
to think froome could've actually won 2 tours in a row how angry do you think brailsford is
Chase Perez
For Pinot it's good. Pinot is mentally fragile and the limelight and pressure is always on him during the tour de france. For him to ride Giro and Vuelta where there's less of a circus and pressure on him will be good
For Bardet, it's an interesting choice. His star is on the rise in the Tour, with two top 10 finishes and now a 2nd place. It might be a good idea for him to ride the Giro for the GC and then ride the Tour for stage wins or supporting role
Cooper Barnes

Explain the Olympics then.
Zachary Nguyen
If you allow different seasons, Contador won the Vuelta in 2014 then the giro in 2015. He came 5th in the tour though. The only way to hold all the grand tours at the same time is to win the tour, fluke the giro, then train like a demon for the next years giro imo... Giro Tour double just looks impossible.
or is it? (pic related)

Pinot in the Giro is a great idea, as soon as the temperature goes up, he flakes out, but thats usually not an issue in the Giro.
If both of them went though would that make the Frenchies sad? Would that mean less """fans""" in the road, or would the morons with selfie sticks still show up?

I think the French people might be a little sad that their prime contenders are at home and not racing, but in the long-term, a French GT winner (of any GT) would be a good thing. It might drum up some funding to hire strong riders and compete with Sky.

what are these two dumbfucks on the front doing? Their chances would be much better if they stay with the large breakaway group.

True, I wonder if theres any up and coming classics riders, They had a 25 year old 10th in Paris Roubaix... It'd be a shame to not have any good French riders at all!
Pinot looks strong, until its over 26°C
Parker Bennett
>the Giro & Vuelta are always way more unpredictable.
That's the Tour's fault, though. >muh tradition means the parcours is extremely predictable and, thus, the race. If they scrambled it up a little bit like the Giro and the Vuelta regularly do then the robot team wouldn't win it so easily every year.
Jaxon Anderson
