>this old article by piero scaruffi has won several international awards as the most professional analysis of the career of pop group the Beatles ever written
So what awards did he win? And what award gives the title of, "most professional analysis of the Beatles ever written"?
Sup Forums.org music board Award for Most Epic Reviewer 2010
Nicholas Peterson
The Piero Scaruffi Award For Excellence In Being Piero Scaruffi
Caleb Ross
Haha what the fuck is this?
Juan Long
I can't even find anything about this online, i'm pretty sure scaruffi made it up considering the design on it looks about as shitty as his website
Parker Hughes
I actually have a bit of a theory on this. Not that he actually secretly won the awards or anything, but rather I think that his entire website exists for him to inflate his massive ego and likely hide some deep seated insecurities.
Just look at his infamous list of friends. Who in the world would actually be autistic enough to keep an online encyclopaedia of their friends, complete with photographs? And then you look at the pictures and it gets even weirder; a lot of time it looks like the person who is the subject of the photo isn't even aware that Scaruffi is photographing them. Are they even aware of the existence of the website? The only reason I can think of that would explain this is that Scaruffi is deeply insecure about himself and desperately feels the need to portray a (false) grandiose image of himself to the public. "Looks how many friends I have! Look how popular I am!" this page screams, desperation oozing from the sterile font. In the case of his claiming of fake awards, I think he is either purposefully lying to aggrandize his image of himself or his insecurities have propelled him to delusional heights of mental self-exagerration. Perhaps he has convinced himself that the awards do, in fact, exist. Either way, I think it's very clear that he is a very mentally ill old man.

What the fuck is wrong with him? "Best professional analysis of Beatles *ever* written." Literally the most pretentious bullshit I've ever seen
"They have turned me into some kind of Internet celebrity not because of the 6,000 bios that i have written, not because of the 800-page book that i published, not because of the 30 years of cultural events that i organized, but simply because i downplayed the artistic merits of the Beatles"
He's literally stroking his own ego.
Adrian Price
What a fucking pathetic hack holy shit
Caleb Scott
How can he complain about being an, "internet celebrity"(right), when he's supposedly won several international awards?
Jaxon Martinez
He claims that he's honest or unbiased, when there is clear evidence of him completely having a contrarian opinion and contradicting himself for attention and view
Joshua Campbell
he actually was pretty praised by new york times tho
>Award for Music Taste HOLY FUCK HAHAHAHAHA Scaruffi really is Sup Forums incarnate.
Wyatt Young
You sure got me good
Austin Morgan
this is an ubermensch
Ayden Roberts
He is a meme, plain and simple.
Some might hate me for this but Fantano really is a much better music reviewer.
Zachary Brown
I genuinely "Scaruffi" is all a huge joke controlled by a person or a group of people. Some of the shit on his website makes me think, "there's no way this is real"
Blake Evans
>the 30 years of cultural events that I organized Uh...
William Powell
i am reading his book about rock music history right now.
its okay-ish desu.
Grayson Richardson
>Beatles' "Aryan" music removed any trace of black music from rock and roll. It replaced syncopated African rhythm with linear Western melody, and lusty negro attitudes with cute white-kid smiles.
Jackson Perez
He's the smartest man in music. This man has a PhD from Stanford. You have a HS diploma. Shut up and listen.
Joseph Perry
>but rather I think that his entire website exists for him to inflate his massive ego and likely hide some deep seated insecurities.
Let's be honest, he never claimed to be unbiased, and he doesn't even pretend to really understand rock music. That said, his website promoted some of our favourite music. The fact that we can listen to people like Slint and MBV is entirely thanks to him. It is useless to compain about his contrarian reviews when his 8/10s and 9/10s are all masterpiece that we all collectively appreciate.
>Who in the world would actually be autistic enough to keep an online encyclopaedia of their friends, complete with photographs?
He started that site as a 50 years old man in the 90s. I don't think that it is legit autism, he probably simply doesn't understand how social interactions work on the internet (wich is reasonable, since that was not part of his education). Are all the cringy old people on facebook just autistic? Maybe they really don't get it.
>Either way, I think it's very clear that he is a very mentally ill old man. Hell, he is still coherent. He may have some personality issues, but at the end of the day his website is just an extension of the books he used to write in the '80s. When you see it on that light, and when you consider that he has an actual passion for music, the entire context changes.
I don't always agree with him, but I still think that his site is one of the most positive and authentic musical sources on the internet. I'd rather have 1000 scaruffis than just one Rolling Stone or NME.

Juan Edwards
>I'd rather have 1000 scaruffis than just one Rolling Stone or NME You mean that the other way round, right?
Dominic Williams
>The fact that we can listen to people like Slint and MBV is entirely thanks to him. Nah
Camden Perry
>a lot of time it looks like the person who is the subject of the photo isn't even aware that Scaruffi is photographing them.
Yeah, this is also a picture taken by him. scaruffi.com/monument/japan/index.html Those are not his only pictures of Japanese girls and kids who have no clue he's taking a pic.
Elijah Ramirez
More examples of pics by Scaruffi himself, this guy is really weird but has interesting opinions nevertheless.
Michael Gonzalez
lmao the girls have no clue
Landon Barnes
googling "nmc award for music taste" just gives me a bunch of Sup Forums threads of people asking this exact same question lol
Gabriel Carter
>Who in the world would actually be autistic enough to keep an online encyclopaedia of their friends, complete with photographs? Yeah its not like Facebook doesnt exist...

ITT: People who are jealous that they aren't Scaruffi.
Colton Baker
the same guy has a whole page on his website dedicated to his own quotes definitely autistic
Anthony Lee
>all these people just now coming to the conclusion that Scaruffi is full of shit
how much discrediting does one hack need?
Jace Thompson
Ah yes because on facebook you fill in all of your friends' information and profiles yourself right.
