letterboxd.com/bonus_situation/

I got one of these a week ago. Can't decide whether to start cataloguing and rating all the things i've seen in my life from memory or to use it from now on, declaring year zero from this month onwards

What did you guys do when starting? Option 1 seems like a pain in the ass

some pleb with no taste

am i autistic?

steakbro

>bonus situation
lol

Musicfag here, how prominent is the theme of music in Youth?

Also, I was looking forward to watching it but your 5***** really has my expectations high now

i initially logged a bunch of things i had seen prior to opening the account but now i wish i hadn't, so i guess i'd recommend #2

it focuses more on creative art in general than just music, but if you like Sun Kil Moon, half the soundtrack is him.

option 1 since it means you'll look much less like a pleb

...

i wish i was as cool as Healey

idk your account but you seem okay to me

I'd say yes

burp

>giving a shit about an arbitrary number

nice dubs

naa you seem fine to me

POTTERY

i truly believe letterboxd as whole, has the shittiest taste of any website that's specifically for film, most of the users, i'd say 98% are legit mentally deficient and
you guys confirm it

letterboxd.com/machill54/

tfw part of the privileged good 2%

Here's your (You).

...

i mean i'd argue but you're kinda rite. the most popular movies on letterboxd are mostly stupit superhero crap movies.

>website about films that caters to the masses
>literally a facebook for films
>surprised when their collective taste is pleb af
what the fuck did you expect?
every website that starts off niche but ends up popular goes through the same cycle
>initially only autistic neckbeards with self-proclaimed patrician taste occupy the space
>site becomes more popular and all the normies invade said space bringing their capeshit and other trash along with them
except now, in this day and age, we have the tumblr/sjw crowd as well with all their bullshit

Holy shit it is time for some new Linklater film about Texas and shiiiet

I'm so fucking happy nw

>A comedy that follows a group of friends as they navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood.
So basically Slacker meets Dazed and Confused meets Boyhood?
Sounds like a fucking snoozefest.
>an elaborate american apparel ad with added disco
Based kelps telling it like it is.

>letterboxd.com/myrmician/list/the-human-zoo/

Trying to make this list work.
Any suggestions?

Shoo, pleb

Vincent n'a pas d'écailles
It's capeshit but it's good capeshit, and nothing like the usual ones.

I kinda forgot how much I like Taxi Driver. Also it's pretty fun to go through "classic" movies

letterboxd.com/Lozjudai/

why 366 this year when 181 is true lol you liar

...

What do like about tetsuo? I found it incredibly stupid

Fucking kill yourself shitposting irc fagg

>It's 'Juho goes through random films in a randomized manner' rerun for the 181th time this year.
>mfw

At least go through themes and ideas if you are unwilling to go through filmographies

Whats bad about watching random movies?

You have less than 5 minutes to defend your list not having the Searchers.

The pleb hasn't seen it

I feel watching a filmography in chronological order improves the experience a lot. You get way more out of the film as you see the director progress from film to film. I keep noticing things I hadn't noticed before when I went through few directors recently (I had seen their popular films without the context of their earlier work)

Well that is very easy to fix ain't it

Is that your way of saying you would suck Linklater's dick no matter how much shit it was steeped in? Sounds about right.

I don't really see how they fit.
The list is about social anxieties and existential crises that are prevalent in big cities.
Or other disturbing behaviours and social trends that more often manifest themselves there.

Haha, got me there.

letterboxd.com/Synt/

Yo myrm, I'll be on IRC later to organise Flirting.

>letterboxd.com/myrmician/list/the-human-zoo/
>A sidelong glance at the festering psyche of the human animal trapped within their self-imposed concrete prisons and the abrerrant behaviours that abound.

I took the *concrete prison* as something metaphysical :-D

Well go on with your list then

>It was Myrm that was anti-RL.
shitposting ircfaggots are so easy to detect baka, hit the nail and didn't even try.

also go and watch entire oeuvre of John Ford now.

>hurr durrr

BOY DO I HAVE SOME SHIT TASTE

Why is the man intent on destroying everything of beauty?

Noice.

>anti-RL
What does that mean?

All I did was question whether Linklater's latest film could be good considering it sounds like a rehash of 3-4 of his previous works.
Someone obviously couldn't handle even that.

I already have My Darling Clementine watchlisted, but not really interested in too many other Ford flicks tbqh.

how can one berson be so anti-art

?

Linklater has made more bad films than good ones

Everyone can make turds. John Ford probably has more turds than Linklater has fillms, but we don't judge artists by their lowest effort, shit.

Linklater hasn't made one(1) bad film at all

why didnt u mark it as "seen before" then

I can't think of another director with as wide a chasm as Linklater's best and worst and I'm starting to think that the Before trilogy was a fluke. I also doubt Ford ever made a film anywhere near as bad as Waking Life.

Every director has made a bad film at some point. Prove me wrong

That's just a stupid axiom

>look at me moving the goalposts

don't ever come at myrmician in a disrespectful manner in front of me again.

...

Waking Life is an excellent film, the said Before Trilogy doesn't find any sense as a fluke considering the quality of the films before, after and amongst it, and your capacity to understand and appreciate Ford must be taken as very suspicious at best, given your mental disabilities to recognize quality :)

Hmm, but all of that is incorrect.

Sure it is, embryo

daddi gimme all your cummies *nom nom slurp* haha

Nigga you refuse to watch John Ford

its pretty clear you are anti-art

Charles Laughton

If you think you're still talking to me, you're not.
This was the last thing I said.

>it's another saikol spergs out episode
