Salty libtards started a petition urging the electoral college to be faithless to their party pledge and elect Hillary. CTR's shill for Hill faggots last ditch pathetic effort to be ruled by the corrupt cunt.

Wow. New low for lefties.

but she got the popular vote, the electoral college is shitty system, it kills any shred of democracy in our election process.

i signed it

The US isn't a democracy, it is a representative democracy, representatives of a higher education are elected to make decisions on behalf of the people. This is because George Washington had the foresight of knowing plenty of Americans are going to be complete idiots, but still found a way to give them a say in the country to avoid government corruption, It's overall for the better.

>party pledge

well thank you for proving your ignorance yet again trumpeter

this

i in no way wanted trump but you are completely clueless about the US government so please just stop talking and start reading.

no she didn't

cnn projects trump to win that

They should out up a petition to abolish that outdated shitty ass system.

It should be based on votes. People have so much access to information that this retarded system isn't needed anymore

The us is a republican democracy

I'm so glad you've all stuck around since you've lost
Now give me my delicious (you) tears, snowflake

It actually looks like they've re-updated that graphic, this afternoon it had trump with a checkmark but now it looks like its still up for grabs from clinton.

Unless i am an idiot and it was in a different location.

I have seen this posted by one of my friends. I am on the liberal side of the spectrum and although I dislike the fact that Trump won(I wouldn't exactly be thrilled about Hillary winning either), this attempt at changing the election results is not only childish but could lead to major problems. If the electoral did switch to Hillary, how would those who voted for Trump take it. Some how I don't think it would be something they would fuss about for a day or two then move on.
Changing the results goes against the very system we have up and have used for centuries. Yes the system isn't very good and needs to be changed, but changing the result doesn't solve the problem and only creates new ones. We rely heavily on democracy to keep those who have lost in elections(and their supporters) to accept it as the 'will of the people'.
However I do wonder if the Republicans in the Senate/House would accept it as it is well known that Trump is disliked by those even in his own party. plus you could throw in the fact the establishment is not thrilled for Trump either. would they risk angrying half of the population to go with someone who plays their game? And would they use the popular vote and the petition as their excuse as if it makes it a good thing? I don't think they would risk it but hey this has been an interesting year so we'll see.

TL;DR Liberals need to stop throwing a fit because they lost, and this petition is just plain sad and pathetic.

Yeah. other than the fact that some people have been triggered by him, he's not neccecerily a bad candidate. he's not great, but there is no damning reason for him not to be able to at least take a whack at being president.

>not bernie sanders
It's like they never learn.

So, America is going to listen to a guy from the the 17th century?

I think we need to relook the system we have in place; update it.

States use to not even use a popular vote.

The State legislators just elected a few people and they all got together to decide on a Pres.

there isn't anything wrong with the system we have now though.

What does the year matter?
You should judge wisdom by its merit.

The democratic party should have criminal charges brought against it for undermining democracy. Bernie should be president. This is at the very least.

>so America is going to listen to the guy who was the dest drive of running america

>people have so much access to information that this retarded system isn't needed anymore

yet people still don't look into policies, laws, history, or anything that they should know before voting.

so if anything this system needs to stay in place so that people who actually know what the candidates stand for and what will come from that person getting elected actually do the voting.

also if it was based on votes then literally around 10 states wouldn't need to vote because Cali, Texas, New York, etc would always over rule those states and it would take all the people in those states to vote for 1 person collectively in order to have any say in the election.

also, in this election, even if it was solely by popular vote, it was close enough that there would be a recount or they would go to the electoral college anyway.

Not to mention this would set a bad precedent that the election results essentially don't matter.

even if that petition gets signed by a very clear majority of the population of the United States, the election is already over.

I thought the election was a couple days ago
>inb4 libtards don't get the joke

>also if it was based on votes then literally around 10 states wouldn't need to vote because Cali, Texas, New York, etc would always over rule those states and it would take all the people in those states to vote for 1 person collectively in order to have any say in the election.

Umm, what? Can't tell if you're a really clever troll. You seem to be implying that everyone in a state must have the same interests in the outcome of an election. If we had a system based solely on votes, everyone literally has an equal say. States rights are an excuse for slavery.

Liberalism is a mental disorder. You need to go see your obamacare doctor. When you win, the system works, when you lose... the system is rigged.

18th century actually, but more to the point 18th century lawmakers have us the first ammendment

see The system was actually rigged.

Please read this. Then read it again. America is full of idiots. Let the best lead the rest.

anyone ever stop to think that maybe republicans were not happy with the electoral system for the last 8 years, but didn't throw fits because dems won?

but now dems are mad and think it needs to be gutted out because a republican candidate was selected. typical hypocrite lib mentality (surely it worked in favor sitting pretty 2 elections in a row).

Next time, when you get a candidate that inspires your side in droves, elect them like Bernie. Not someone who thinks they deserve it because they are a woman. Its your sides fault. You messed up. Shame on you.

>anyone ever stop to think that maybe republicans were not happy with the electoral system for the last 8 years, but didn't throw fits because dems won

>agreed. they threw fits about almost everything else, but they never went this far

>America is full of idiots

The whole world is full of idiots.
Most people are just not very bright and have poor to no critical thinking skills.
Look at the retardation that goes on in all of the supposedly most well "educated" countries.
Why is nobody else making great strides towards a brighter future?
Everybody is milking the piss out of 1940s technology and acting like they are the smartest generation the earth has ever been gifted with.

you realize this was the second time an unpopular Republican squeaked by a by on electoral votes. Gore received millions more votes than Dubya, but the Supreme Court handed Florida to him, and thus, the Presidency.

Nope. It is a representative republic.

>won by ~400000
>margin of error covers that
wew lad

I get annoyed when people say all liberals are just a bunch of children, but sadly a good portion of them(always the vocal portion) are. They don't understand that people can have differing views and it's okay. Just because something doesn't go your way, doesn't give you the right to throw a tantrum.
It is sad that the left does tend to claim that they are more accepting and yet they can't even discuss opposing view points and just end up name calling the opposition.

>17th century

Anywho, would you rather the people decided every political matter based purely on majority vote? The US wouldn't exist within a year.

margin of error? its an election, not a poll. Damn you dumb.

America will survive trump

America would not survive an override by the electoral college

start a civil war. if you're so mad about this that you're willing to kill half of all americans to stop it. Then get started. But if you're not willing to shoot bob down the street in the face, be the fuck quiet. The fact is, your liberal ass probably doesn't own a gun, he probably has 12.

Zip it and suck it up like every other American on the losing side of an election has for the last 230 years.

I voted for clinton and i couldn't give 2/10ths of a fuck about this. Move on

The system works. they system is ingenious. You're just a snowflake sore loser. You get no participation trophy here. Take your ball and go home. Grow a pair because your feelings don't matter. Stop your bitching and moaning. Your side is done for now. Try again in 4 years. That's how it works. Earn It.

No if we have a system based solely on votes then the cucks living in the city would dictate how the people growing and raising their food supply would live

>unaccounted/lost ballots
>dead people's votes

this >>>>

I'll just leave this here

Fucking liberalist socialism is fucking bullshit!

That, and the view that if you don't get what you want and not enough people are listening, then you act like a victim!

Fuck humanity!

here let me return your words to you form wen obama got in " just deal with it and shut up "

you forgot aliens. (also, thats not what margin of error means, brainstem).

Electors sent by the states are chosen by each party, IE: if your state has 10 electors the majority of the states choose 10 republican, 10 democrat, 10 libertarian, 10 progressive and so on. These are chosen by the parties from very long serving party faithful. Whomever wins sends their 10 in this example to the state capital to vote on 12/19. A petition will NOT sway them IMHO the petition is a feel good hug me I suck kind of deal. Won't go anywhere.

The purpose of a good government is to do what's best for everyone.

Representative democratic republic.
But you're the closest anyone got in this shitty thread

this

An online petition won't fix anything. Trump won, Hillary lost, sure she may have won the "popular vote" which is hilarious as I've seen 100x over more Trump supporters vs Hillary. The electoral college has worked it's magic and graced the Republicans with this one.

Those are the rules faggot. You can't play a football game and lose and then cry about it because you had more running yards then the other team but lost.
Had the roles been reversed and Trump got the popular vote and Clinton won with electoral votes you would all be running naked through the streets right now pumping each other full of AIDS ridden semen screaming in excitement. And if anybody tried to bring up that Trump won the popular vote you would be the most condecending prick about it as you possibly could be and say "to bad so sad Clinton won suck it up."
Don't be a faggot AND a hypocrite.

Nope. It's a simmering shitpile of niggers and SJWs with normal people caught in the middle.
