K-pop is no different in content than American pop, except that you need 5 girls to have the success of one, and even then, they only manage to cater to the worst of the South Koreans, whose culture is basically a ripoff of America's worse shit, and western manchildren; one may even add that most of their views are probably acquired in electronics stores, where the displayed televisions use their clips as sample material (it certainly is the case in my homeland of Brazil).
It is easily noticed that most of their act is focused on choreographies designed to invoke an image of "cuteness" (an obvious ripoff of the Japanese's nefarious "kawaii" concept), however what is achieved in the process is an embarrassing display of forced facial expressions that become tiresome, and later even cringe-worthy after the first 2 minutes of any video one may watch; and dance moves that not only fail at being erotic (due to the natural lack of eroticism of the far East Asian peoples; it is only in their mind that childlike behavior and girlish giggles are a display of sensuality); but also do not evoke the so-desired cuteness in a way that lasts beyond the first 2 minutes of any given video; instead, the dancing suffers the same effects as their expression-forcing acts.
Lyricism is completely forgettable; the eloquence is akin to that which is used by teenagers in electronic texting; as the content in general seems to be an eternal reference to the ever important and urgent troubles of teenagehood; indeed, it is a sad thing that "grown" men actually listen to and even sing such teenage-pandering embarrassments. Equally unremarkable are the repetitive, artificial tunes which serve as little more than monotonous background noise.
In short, it's teenage-pandering, talentless, plastic shit, invariably bound to the commercial drive; not different in content from the tasteless pop of any country in a way which would justify a fan's loyalty; although, it is among the worst of them.
