You don't need to make eye contact when talking with somebody online, something people with autism aren't very proficient at. You also don't need to show emotion in your tone, or face. Asking someone how their fucking day was online is so easy, even an autist could do it. Online interaction isn't human interaction, especially if you're just typing to each other.
If you're talking about Aspergers, I also don't have that.
I hold empathy and do care a lot about what people are thinking. Reading body signals and emotions are something I'm capable of. Only thing I'm not very good at is keeping a steady emotion.

Actually, it's a lot of fun and I'm seeing myself in pretty darn difficult situations right now.
Last time in pedagogics we had a fictional scenario.
You have a kid from a different country. Of course their social standards are completely different. Let's say that kid has their life layed out before them by their parents.
You, as a teacher, will most likely seek conversation with that kid, asking if that kid is okay that their parents have their whole life planed out.
But what after that?
If the kids okay with it, are you okay with it as a teacher? You are teaching in a western country. It's not the standard for the parents to plan the life of their kids. It's standard for them to help them get on their own feet.
And what if the kids actually not okay with it? What are you doing then? Do you teach the kid how to think critical? Do you put the kid in the difficult situation of having a culture clash?
And you know what? I still don't know. There is no "right" way to teach a kid or how to handle a kid. And that's probably going to be extremely hard.
