Hey, Sup Forums, really need your help. Im building a pc and im not sure if i ordered the wrong psu. Psu is 20+4 pin and mother board is 24 pin. First time building one and i dont want to fuck it up. Is it safe to stick the 20+4 pin in the 24 pin even though it is separate cables? Thanks in advance

Update: the 20 pin has this hole thing and idk if thats normal to still plug it in

holy fuck just plug it in 20+4 = 24 pins, it'll work fine

get rid of that builders virginity

the 20+4 just gives the psu compatibilityh with 20 pin and 24 pin

buy a whole new power supply OP. You dun goofed.

OP don't listen to these guys they're trying to fry your mother board. You need an adapter so the correct pin outs go to the right spot. They're like 2 dollars.

Yes it is 100% safe 24pin 20+4 are the exact same it doesn't change anything

Sure but what about that 20 pin hole thing?

You deserve whatever you get OP.

You done broke it. Go spend 2 grand on a pre-built PC

Every power supply you buy is 20+4 pin btw, and the old 24 pin has the whole anyways

return it from whence you bought it son

That's just another ground. Most cheaper PSU's don't have it. You're good.

Fucking noob.

Woops. Miscounted. it's a spare -5. Once again, it's fine.

Nigger, if it don't go there, it won't fit.

The extra 4 pins are just for power to a spare fan. You'll fry your board if you plug that in. Trust me, I've worked with cumputers all my life.

Yeah it's fine.

IIRC they do stuff like that incase you have a micro ATX or just a normal ATX
