DO YOU LIKE WEEN ?
DO YOU LIKE WEEN ?

f*uck yeah
fcku yeah
Personally, a top 5 band of all time.
h*ck yes mang ;)
Yes, very much.
What is your favorite Ween song at the moment?
Been listening to Chocolate and Cheese a bunch lately so probably Roses are Free.
stallion pt 3
Stay Forever
Roses Are Free is a song I always gloss over. It never really sticks with me when I hear it.
mang
Nice, White Pepper doesn't get enough attention. The demos are really good too. Maybe better than the finished product imo.
I've been listening to this a lot recently.

Also, this is the brownest footage of Gener ever recorded. youtube.com
Just got pic related on vinyl earlier today. My copy sounds great but I'd heard some dubious things about the Plain pressings so I was pretty cautious about it before buying
fav album mr.love?
The wife and I like them very much!
A tie between white pepper and quebec
FUCK YEAH
laura has always been a favorite of mine
Always "gabrielle" or "stay forever"
>brandon likes ween
You've redeemed yourself for this over the chvrches shit.
Kim Smoltz is another gem that never made it onto an album.
Let's try this again. One of my faves that never made it onto an official album. Think this was used for the X-Files movie soundtrack if I remember correctly.

I need to see them live. .
Pork Roll Egg and Cheese
Did you guys know the song Alone was supposed to be a cover of Robyn Hitchcock's The Bones on the Ground? Legend has it Dean recorded the instrumental, and Gene found it and didn't know it was supposed to be a cover so he wrote his own lyrics.
i like that one song ocean man
got my wife into WEEN via Pure Guava on the drive to portland. Pic related, Deaner's guitar. I have a Musicmaster II as well, before I knew about this one.
Transdermal Celebration
The Mollusk>Quebec=The Pod>C&C>GWS=Pure Guava>>La Cucaracha>>>>>Actual Dogshit>>>>>>>>White Pepper
Yes you do need to see them live. They really don't have any dud songs. There are so many that I could choose as an all time fav... She Wanted to Leave, Sarah, Back to Basom, Stay Forever, I Don't Want It, Spinal Meningitis, Fluffy.. I can go on forever.
I saw them twice during their most recent 3 shows in New York, and managed to catch them during their Halloween show in NYC before they broke up and got sober. Man did they used to get fucked up on stage... To be honest it was nice to see them clean and in good spirits during their recent tour. Especially Papa Gener. You could really tell he was beginning to lose his shit from all the drinking, pills, and coke that he was doing.
Where does one start with Ween?
They actually played that at the concert I went to last year. It was great.
God Ween Satan
Go chronologically.
I personally started with their really accessible stuff like The Mollusk and White Pepper and gradually started looking into their weirder stuff.
Start with the mollusk, then listen to chocolate and cheese and white pepper, then go on to quebec, then their earlier albums like god ween satan, pure guava, and the pod. Then, you should branch out and listen to their other stuff, like their rejects album: shinola vol 1, their online release: craters of the sac, and their rare songs, as well as 12 gcg and la cucuracha. Also, go to a ween concert some time in there. They're excellent live.
White Pepper is the perfect balance between their early irreverent/comedic style and their later more polished adult contemporary sound.
I fuckin love that album.
Yet it isn't even irreverent or funny. They never even say fuck once on that album.
Do you guys think comparisons between Ween and They Might Be Giants are fair? I know Ween themselves hate the comparison but I'm sure there's a sizable fan overlap.
>Bananas and Blow
>Pandy Fackler
>not irreverent or funny
and if you include outtakes you also got Put Your Boobs On.
Do I like when what?
While peaking on some clean cid while listening to I'll Be Your Jonny on the Spot.
What do you want from me?
my nigga
I feel like they are two sides of the same coin. TMBG being more cerebral and goofy and Ween being more cynical and anarchic.
>is the perfect balance
The only album that belongs in front of this phrase is Chocolate and Cheese
Nothing friend, carry on.
Seems like a nice opinion you've got there.
12 /Golden Country Greats are 10 golden country greats. Piss Up a Rope is #1.
My favorite 30 Ween songs are spread pretty equally across each album/release, and half of those have live versions that I consider "definitive" in my mind. Point is, they are a band that is consistently making amazing tunes, that bring new life to tunes in live performances, and are never afraid to take something so far that it fails, because the important part is the exploring.
Seen them together, and seen Gener and Deaner separately, and I can tell you the flame lives in each of 'em.
I'm Holding You and Help Me Scrape the Mucus Off My Brain are two of the best Ween songs of all time (live recordings of each being fair play). Piss Up a Rope is ok.
Ever experience Fluffy live? Words cannot describe.
I don't like Fluffy much. It's ok, but it just seems like a lazy slow jam. Slow is ok, jam can be ok, but Fluffy just takes too long to get going, and I like Deaner's work better on stuff like A Tear for Eddie or his DWG stuff.
>seen Gener and Deaner separ
My wife prefers 2% milk. I love singing that lyric at her. I also like doing PUAR and Clint Black's Killing Time back to back.
Flutes of Chi
Reggae Junkie Jew
I always get blazed and play this song with my friend and we laugh our asses off
(not him) Fluffy is god tier, only seen Ween live once but they played that and it was great.
I've heard all of their stuff and their demos but I still love The Mollusk, Quebec, Pure Guava, White Pepper and Chocolate and Cheese the most.
GodWeenSatan, Shinola and the pod are cool too but I find myself playing them less, along with 12CG.
You'd have to be a pretty huge cunt not to like Ween
this has been proven many times
Best:
Pod > Mollusk > GWS
h*ck yeah
Stop what you're doing and listen to Z-Rock Hawaii!
I went through my Ween phase but probably haven't listened to them in 5 years. I can certainly understand why Sup Forums finally came around to them and are now obsessed.
