at least for girlpop... if you think about it since kpop peaked on 2012-2013 new groups are domed to their initial fame and cant get really bigger than that, big old groups gained fame thanks to the hallyu momentum, now the entire fandom knows you the moment you debut on shows and there's no new territory to expand, is hit or miss, hallyu and weeaboism cant expand endlessy and they already dominate sea and their share of western/china
