Why did The Savages take me a week to get through? The first half was just so slow, and it really didn't become interesting until part 4.

I also have to say that Steven's exit felt rushed, as if they just tacked it onto the end of the episode because Peter Purves went "I'm out!" and left, leaving them with little choice.

The very end with Dodo hugging Steven is the only time I've found her character even remotely bearable. I will be very pleased to be rid of her.

Anyway, The War Machines is next and I'm looking forward to seeing how the finale holds up to the rest of the season. I think it's been pretty 6/10 so far.{/spoiler]

yeah, the author has them both in an interesting position (Nyssa post terminus, The Doctor post deadly assassin) but aside from a couple paragraphs doesn't really do much with the two of them together.

Honestly, had Nyssa been replaced with an OC, things really wouldn't have been changed that much in the story.
