Why do people blame "bad marketing" for Dredd's failure?

Why do people blame "bad marketing" for Dredd's failure?

Can't people just admit that they were tired of seeing more capeshit at the time?

Why was his face always like that?

Also, what the fuck was his power?

JUSTICE

this thread again

Those Dredd shorts were really shite.

Just like this repost of a thread.

>normies
>tired of capeshit

I already saw the Raid so this felt like a cheap imitation at the time.

Not american, but I almost don't watch it because I didn't knew it was being proyected.

No trailer in other movies.
No poster in the theater.
Only two weeks after release I had to go to a multicinema at the outside of the city to watch it.

Dredd is not a character with enough fanbase to make all those mistakes.

But OP, even if you don't like the money, you can't look at the marketing of this movie in the US and call it "successful." It's a textbook misfire and a direct and contributing factor to the movie have a weak theatrical run.

There is good marketing, and bad marketing. This is not the good kind.

The Raid is literally a copy of Dredd. The producers used the leaked script of Dredd and rushed it through.

>Dredd is not a character with enough fanbase to make all those mistakes.
Not to mention that its a tainted property because of the Stalone movie, and the popular opinion that it's bad. Even though it's great.
