I'm now back in a different state. Fast forward to a few days ago. Detectives from my homestate show up at my door, accompanied by local cops. They take me in for questioning, saying they are investigating me for sexual exploitation of a minor. They had a warrant for my iPhone, which I had to give up. I refused to answer any more questions without a lawyer. I left after that.
To my knowledge, there wasn't anything on my phone, but let's hypothetically say there could have been something on my iPhone related to my ex. Now I am in panic mode, fearing that the police are going to be back at my door any minute.
I wanted you autists to help me make sure my computer would be safe and encrypted in the event that they come back with more warrants and seize more of my property. Is Freeraser a good program to permanently delete files?

There is literally nothing you can do. If you wipe your drives they can retrieve the files, if you overwrite your drive they know you got rid of it and you're still in trouble. If it's encrypted and they have a warrant you have to let them, otherwise charges I think.

Go buy a shitty burner laptop, then hand over that one. If they don't know the model, and just come in for a seizure, and you chunk your old one, then you're safe. Destroy the HDD, buy a new one, and hand over the cheap burner one.
Read the fucking warrant in it's entirety before letting them enter your property. If they barge in and don't let you read the warrant, then you can counter-suit for breaking your 4th and 5th amendment rights.
If they try to take anything that's NOT on the warrant, instantly lawyer up, and push hard. They will be forced to drop charges if it's found that they secured evidence that wasn't on the warrant. There's some free legal advice.
