The only real answer

...

fuck

What is bloop?

""""IDM""""

youtube.com/watch?v=u0Ujb6lJ_mM

I'm recommending this to y'all. You can find it on spotify and deezer.
youtube.com/watch?v=nfYTosk_hzE&app=desktop

>what /bloop/ is for
- IDM; from first wave ambient techno material to the later drill & bass and breakcore stuff.
- certain forms of techno, such as: dub techno, detroit techno, industrial techno (only some of it, not all of it)
- other forms of leftfield house/techno electronica that is either downtempo or experimental in nature.

>what /bloop/ is NOT
- /bloop/ is not /bleep/. Don't post "bangers" or things that "bang @ the club"; even though plenty of the music posted in /bloop/ is also suitable for a club setting, /bloop/ is predominantly for home listening music and not just club music bangers.
- /bloop/ is not for PC Music, Vaporwave, or Arca-esque experimental bass music - stuff like that belongs to a separate general dedicated to post-internet music known as /blip/.
- /bloop/ is not /groove/. Trip-hop, nu-jazz, acid jazz and the like are not /bloop/ unless they're leftfield or remotely experimental; for example Amon Tobin and Wagon Christ classify as /bloop/, while Funki Porcini and Bonobo do not.

>what to do in /bloop/
Post tunes that you like, share recommendations, communicate with like-minded individuals about music that you like.

Who else unironically loves allot of the tracks on this?

MY MAN
That album is fucking dope, I dont have a single ironic feelings towards it

This album is great, why would anyone only like it ironically?

sounds boring. what music do you like

Sorry for the stupid question, but would the new Thundercat count as /bleep/ or /bloop/?

For about a year I had a certain vamp stuck in my head. I was pretty sure, almost positive, that it came from some IDM CD I had (Squarepusher? Early "Classics" AFX?!, my 'Braindance Coincidence' compilation?!" ; I once plowed through a bunch of them trying to find the vamp; I failed totally.

Some time later, I plopped in Expert Knob Twiddlers. It turned out that the vamp in question was a late "breakdown" section on Vodka, with kind of wild pitch changes. I found my vamp!

Shortly thereafter, the album was re-issued. I ponied up for the extra tracks, and now I have two Mike and Rich's sitting on my shelf-with another version of Vodka!

For all that, the album is fun and good, but not BRILLIANT - I give it 7/10, and a fun cover design too. Another interesting thing about it is that it has been released in many different ways (cassette, re-issue, foreign bootleg), with many different track-listings-I count like five or six differently tracklisted versions of the album, all told-all with the same content, though, apart from the much later bonus trax.

The funny thing about my two versions of it are that one comes from Richard's old pet label (Rephlex), while the other is re-branded with Mike's pet label (planet mu). I naturally have a sentimental attachment to old Rephlex copy (and particularly how the ultra-high pitch is mastered on its second track, which is shuffled later-I prefer the sound on the Rephlex CD copy), but musically, I get Mike's shuffle. But everyone who ever formatted a tracklisting (IIRC) always kept the strong opener Mr. Frosty first, and the creeptic Bu Bu Bu Ba last.

It's great. Mr. Frosty is one of Aphex's best imo.

Who else hyped as fuck for new Clark release?
Imo he's in the top five now. Last album was a masterpiece, dying to hear this new one. Already bought tickets for the live show.

My favorite album ever is being re released! Any Jan fans here?
