It's a classic pleb filter
It's magical and minimal, like the twinkling cosmos.
While it kills the pacing of the album, I do enjoy the use of empty space to create atmosphere.
this
It's better than i talk to the wind
It's builds suspense for the final track
Harder challenge- defend The Devil's Triangle
The vocal part is potentially the best part of the album
The keyboard improvisation part is too long and not that good.

IMPOSSIBLE MODE: Defend Student Demonstration Time
This. It matches the lyrics perfectly.
I might be wrong but I always thought tracks like moonchild or grand viziers entrance were suppose to be stoner freak out songs. cuz of how spacey and weird they are
Really gay post
Honestly? It's my favourite track on the album.
It just works.
If you don't like moonchild you are either a pleb or you don't play an instrument/make music.
...
How can it be better than the best song on the album?
it's just really pretty and cool to relax and chill to, but also interesting to pay attention to the interplay between the instruments, the way they kinda "talk" to each other during the more dissonant sections
basically imo it works great as a break from the other, more dramatic pieces
also helps that the last couple minutes are one of the best moments on the whole album
With the god-tier 40th Anniversary Edition remaster (which you all should have, seeing as how you should always physically purchase King Crimson albums and NOT pirate them), Moonchild is shortened by 3 minutes and becomes excellent.
>settling for anything less than the original
When I found out that it was recorded live I had a newfound respect for it.
It has a kinda cool section where it sounds like the instruments are talking to each other. But that loses it's novelty after the first listen
>settling for anything less than Fripp's artistic vision
It's not even that hard to get. It reflects the lyrics of the first half in a playful, innocent yet introspective way.
It's one of my favourite Iron Maiden songs
