In one of my chemistry labs the TA was playing some spotify list and Wonderwall came on. My lab partner started unironically humming along to it. I guess normies like Oasis, or at least their biggest hit.
Oliver Miller
Yeah, Wonderwall is a good pop song though. I mean, it's overplayed, but it is undeniably a good song.
Also, I'd prefer to have pop songs like that, written by characters like the Gallagher brothers, over the pop music that's in the charts now. At least they were unpredictable and actually entertaining.
It's not a meme. The first two albums are unironically 10/10. After that, uhhh, it went a bit pear shaped.
Henry Morris
Pretty hard to type that with a straight face?
Liam Morris
Masterplan is the GOAT bsides album
Daniel Price
>Being a pleb It's plebeian to dismiss them just because they were popular and normies like them. The first two records were great then, and they're still good now. Give them a listen all the way through and see for yourself. The same can be said about Nirvana, what's the difference? Both made pop music. Or is one acceptable because he wasn't so honest about his intentions and blew his own head off?
Nolan Gonzalez
He looks like a human cold sore
Easton Powell
yeah oasis was good whats your point faggot
Luke Wilson
This is Sup Forums. You'll be lauded for posting an album of your neighbor's screams while you hit him in the balls with a trash can lid, but if you like decent pop/rock music that's not made by a nigger then you have to go.
Adrian Young
How? Either way, he was pulling decent looking women even before he was famous. Hence the need for the Oasis-pill
Anthony Campbell
He just looks like a randy scouse git
Brayden Cooper
>Scouse But he's Mancunian
Daniel Diaz
Manc twat
Nolan Kelly
Lowfrequency, how are you doing m8? Sup Forums covers Britpop coming soon
Colton Reed
Soon matey
Eli Brooks
stop already montie. you're like an insect
Sebastian Taylor
Are they the British Strokes then?
Isaiah Adams
I think their rise was quite Nirvana-esque, but the music was like the exact opposite of Nirvana. Noel has stated in the past that the song "Live Froever" (the song that separated them from other bands of the time) was a response to "I hate myself and want to die" by Nirvana.
Yeah, I'm saying the rise of Nirvana though. I honestly think Oasis are better than Nirvana.
This is a common thing. I don't think people take them seriously within music circles as a band because they were honest about their intentions and made bonafide pop music. I'd take them over the pop music we have now anyday. Also, Oasis made better music than Blur, and that's just the truth of it. I think several members of Blur have actually admitted that several of Oasis' songs are great. You can't honestly believe that anything Blur put out tops the first two Oasis albums, can you? After that, Blur might be better... but nah, not the first two albums.
Ryder Kelly
Nah. Grimes is an unwashed hippie wannabe who makes random squealing noises into a loop pedal and sells it as music to idiots under the guise of her being some feminist le independent unique different le female cutie japenese anime girl wannabe bran-flake-eating cunt musician. She's fucking boring and so is her music.
Easton Lopez
I'm not commenting on the music. Grimeth threads work for containment. Oasis stans don't need containing, there's like 4 of them. You pushed a thread off the board for this.
Adrian James
We are agreed that The Strokes > Oasis ???
Benjamin Hernandez
Obviously
Liam Martin
No The Strokes couldn't have existed without Oasis
David Thompson
The Clash is great though.
Luis Bailey
Why wont he cut his hair?
Anthony Allen
>First two albums were 10/10. correct, but blur was better on the whole
Adam Harris
True or False: Modern Life is Rubbish is really underrated.
Kevin Gutierrez
its good, but not in their top 3. (So false)
leisure is underrated though
Aiden Campbell
Leisure is great, can't argue. I'm nostalgic for MLIR though.
Some of these are just criminal, I don't know how they avoided lawsuits
Jacob Diaz
>Plagiarism You have never made music in your life, have you? Noel admits that some of the riffs were very similar to others, so what? It's quite common. Most huge bands have songs that sound similar to others, even the Beatles and old stuff like that "ripped off" others songs. The point is Noel clearly turns it into something else entirely, it's a whole new song after. Hence why he hasn't been sued.
