These are quite possibly the most overrated films ever. On Sup Forums and in general. Everyone with a brain knows only the first one is good, and its perfect. The rest is overrated for nostalgia and has aged terribly.
FOTR 10\10 TTT 6.5/10 ROTK 3.5/10

They gutted the book, making an action movie for 15-25 year olds. Tolkien became devoured by his popularity and absorbed by the absurdity of the time. The gap widened between the beauty, the seriousness of the work, and what it has become is beyond me. This level of marketing reduces to nothing the aesthetic and philosophical significance of this work.
The chasm between the beauty and seriousness of the work, and what it has become, has overwhelmed me. The commercialization has reduced the aesthetic and philosophical impact of the creation to nothing.

You're a fucking faggot OP. The true Patrician ranking is as follows.
Theatrical Cut: >Fellowship 8.5/10 >Two Towers 9.5/10 >Return of the King 9/10
Extended Cut: >Fellowship 9/10 >Two Towers 8.5/10 >Return of the King 10/10

but that's the generic pleb ranking. "MUH ACTION SCENES MUH BATTLES" taking precedence over the "boring" first movie.
true patricians appreciate fellowship because of its smaller scale, use of practical effects, and cohesive storyline. also for boromir. there were saving graces in the later movies like theoden or frodo and sam since their storyline was very well done, but there was too much ridiculousness like gimili and legolas' characterization, elves at helm's deep, the ghost army, the witch king breaking gandalf's staff, the CGI in general (gollum excluded), etc.
fellowship is the only one that had the whole package.

>true patricians They wouldn't be watching garbage like this. very nice >13:33:33 though I'm impressed
