Season 3 is going to be shit, right?
Season 3 is going to be shit, right?
What do you mean?
>Lynch directing every episode
>not first only like some hack directors (Raimi)
>not even first and last
>but every episode
It's going to be TVno.
probably. i like lynch's movies a lot but i don't think he has it in him anymore
The second half of Season 2 set the bar so low that it'll be impossible for me to be disappointed by S3.
At least it never stopped being gorgeous to look at, though. Hopefully the show won't lose its visual fidelity going to 16:9 and being shot digitally.
It will disappoint people at first considering that the hype behind it is ridiculous. But I think eventually, it will be recognized as a great season.
Nice meme, season two was great except for the james scenes (which were just as bad in season 1)
This, I have faith in lynch again. He's never made anything completely terrible. Not even Dune is that bad
the rich guy thinking he's a general for several episodes was pants on head retarded
so just like True Detective season 2
Hopefully Lynch uses film instead of Digital, Its impossible for Digital to have the same atmosphere as film.
it's going to be digital
:(
>not first only like some hack directors (Raimi)
Fuck you, Sam Raimi is the most based director in Hollywood.
Evil dead was good but Spiderman was shit
>he doesn't like fun plotlines like that or superstrong high school Nadine
Ash vs Evil Dead was complete shit
>he didn't even direct this shit
It's bretty gud m8.
Some of the writing was kind of off in a few of the later episodes, but Bruce himself was a comedy goldmine. You can't really blame the shortcomings on Raimi, I just hope he actually directs a few episodes next season.
>implying you can tell the difference
Fuck off back to Sup Forums you MBTI sensor autists, film is about the plot, the visuals are just there to deliver the plot.
>Based Mark and Frost writing and directing all episodes
>ALL 18 OF THEM
Nigga this shit gonna be 10/10
Wait, we're getting 18 episodes?
Holy shit.
His last film was Inland Empire a decade ago and it ties with Mulholland dr as his greatest work. With 25 years to think about it and him directing every episode it's virtually guaranteed to be brilliant. Have you seen the cast?
It's Lynch's first project in 10 years and the continuation of a show that's 25 years old, it could be shit or incredible.
You could've said the same thing about Lucas when he decided to make the prequels.
Reminder to prepare for Depressed Coop this season.
;-;
Film costs too damn , and there were already budget issues with the show. It will look fine with digital. Digital has come a long way from that low res camera David fell in love with for Inland Empire.
>comparing Lynch to George Lucas
Lynch is an actual artist m8
You realize Twin Peaks was a soap opera right? All soap opera's have batshit retarded plot lines. There's one soap opera I watched while on break when working at a supermarket because it was always on, and there was a plot line involving an old 50+ year old woman trying to steal away her nieces husband by using a love potion she brewed, and he ended up falling in love with the first person he saw, which was a dog on the Television.
Lynch was literally just making a Soap Opera but with his own flair. It wasn't some deconstruction of the genre, or some nu-age transcendency of television, it was just a project he worked.
xfiles reboot was so shit/underwhelming that nobody even remembers it happened
SVETA IS THE KEY, SCULLY!
At least we'll find out how Annie is
We found out how Annie was in the FWWM deleted scenes. She's dead as fuck. Not unless the FWWM scenes are non canon now.
don't ever reply to me again
>He doesn't like one of the few saving graces of the big stretch
Nigga the James subplot, the fucking Nadine subplot, all that shit was worse than Based Ben's Civil War
>DONT EVER TALK TO ME OR MY WIFES SON AGAIN
What did he mean by this?
someone shop Benjamin Horne's head into the poster and change the name to Captain Horne: Civil War
No it was good and the good ben / pine weasel plotline after was even better
? She made it to hospital and the nurse stole the cursed ring, she is probably alive and well.
I can only imagine when Showtime reshows Twin Peaks, and it gets to that part, thousands of tumblr feminist end up getting offended by that part
>briggs going to the white lodge
>windom earles chess game & leo scenes
>miss twin peaks pageant
>eckhardts box
>raid on jean renault
>all the black and white lodge mythology
Season 2 did nothing wrong
>and there was a plot line involving an old 50+ year old woman trying to steal away her nieces husband by using a love potion she brewed, and he ended up falling in love with the first person he saw, which was a dog
Passions was god tier soap opera and you know it
JUST
...
Is that what it was called?
I just remember rolling my eyes when it came on, and then after a while it became the highlight of my work day.
...
...
The show was created by a writer on One Life To Live who came up with the most batshit insane storylines (futuristic colonies, evil clones) and finally the network said "just put all this bizarre shit in its own show OK" so he did
...
I dunno maybe i haven't seen any good examples, the new X files looked way to clean and polished for my liking not like the original smoky flashlights in a dark alleyway look
Ash vs. Evil Dead is the best television show on television, you piece of shit. Apologize.
Yes, just like the first two
so many boners of different sorts
Watch the New X- Files than watch the Old, Then tell me there isn't a difference.
Are you baiting me mate ? It's not hard to to tell the difference between film and digital.
no backward talking midget, why?
That's not depressed Coop. That's evil Coop. He was possessed by Bob at the end of season 2.
>Francesca Eastwood
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyy
Its been 25 years, that plot has probably been resolved
Of all the least shit Soap Operas in the 90s who was it. I say it was the Young and the restless Victor Newman carried that show.
Michael J Anderson is a cunt, that's why. When it was first announced, he said he wanted no part because it was being rebooted for all the wrong reasons. And then when they ask him to return, he rejects their offer and claims they low balled him. Michael J Anderson hasn't been in anything worth a damn since Carnivale.
>The biggest cliffhanger in the whole show resolved off-screen.
You just have no imagination.
pls, that's the biggest cliffhanger we've got going here, that shit is getting solved this season.
I'll still argue that if that was BOB-Coop he'd be cheerer, grinning like a motherfucker, not with that frown and an almost soldier-like thousand-yard glare.
>tfw Coop will come back, having lost 25 years of his life and with lots of murders to his name.
I'll seriously not be able to handle really sad Coop
It was a seasonal cliffhanger just like cooper getting shot at the end of s1, lynch is not going to stretch a storyline that was intended to be seasonal to 25 years just because we didnt get to watch the middle.
>no gnome
>no sheriff
feelsbadman
Michael Ontkean was a really bad actor, and he's been replaced by a much better one, Robert Forster.
Hes sad because he used to be possessed, Bobs whole fucking deal is making his host miserable and feeding on their sorrow, he probably forced coop to kill annie
I agree he was bad, but he had charm imo.
With Tim Roth and Tom Sizemore, how could it be bad? Not saying that ironically either, even when those guys are in shit they are still interesting to watch. And he's got Naomi Watts in it too, my dick is already starting to twitch.
I agree.
This. I was surprised that it was so good, considering the supporting characters were so shit.
he's also almost 70 years old, he was 40 in twin peaks s1 even though he looked 30 now he looks ready for a dirt nap.
>visual fidelity
>Michael Ontkean was a really bad actor,
There were only a few parts in the series where Michael Onkean were bad. For the most part, he was fine. Even Ray Wise had bad acting in some parts.
Also, it's not confirmed that Robert Forster is replacing Michael as Harry. He could be portraying an entirely new character.
The only bad scene with Michael Ontkean was when he points his gun a josie and yells "put it down", kinda the eqivilant to harrison fords "part time"
but that more on the fault of whoever picked that take. As if that's the only take of that scene they did, and as if that's the best take they got.
>David Duchovny back as Denise/Dennis
Lynch didn't want Michael Ontkean, that curly haired fuck was forced on him by CBS.
it was probably the editor imo, looked like an outtake
Small town sheriff is the role Robert Forster was born to play. No matter how unlikely the scenarios are, you'll still buy it with him as the rock. He will add instant believability.
Proofs
>no Annie in Season 3
WHY
>David Lynch originally wanted Robert Forster to play the role of Sheriff Truman. The director would later hire the actor to play a cop in his 2001 thriller Mulholland Dr.
movieweb.com
>Legend has it
sounds fishy to me
He probably saw that scene where she's begging Adam Sandler for sex and realized the people who run Hollywood have totally used up all remaining sex appeal. Like hiring some washed up pozzy porn star at this point.
For some reason I thought Heather Graham would age terribly. She looks amazing.
that doesn't prove he's been recast in the new season. And David Lynch came around to liking him. Hell, David even started to search for Michael's whereabouts when the new season was announced.
The only reason why Robert Forster wasn't in Twin Peaks in the first place is because he was busy at the time with another project.
>Hell, David even started to search for Michael's whereabouts when the new season was announced.
excuse me, but I was wrong about this part. That was actually Everett McGill David was searching for. But apparently in Reflections, An Oral History Of Twin Peaks, Michael had this to say about the experience of being cast
>It was winter when [David Lynch and I] first met. I had on a coat that Mitsuhiro Matsuda made for me to resemble and replace the worn-out biker jacket I’d been wearing since 1961 as a teenage ember of The Black Diamond Riders motorcycle gang in Canada. David’s birthday is only two days before mine so there was some sort of immediate affinity, but he offered me the part of Sheriff Harry S. Truman just to be able to see more of that motorcycle jacket.
>It's okay to be stupid if expectations of you are already low!
Wow man way to tell me literally everything I need to know about you to have absolutely zero respect for you.
I somehow imagine Lynch assumed he was happy in retirement and didn't want to be bothered.
Lynch has only gotten better as a writer and director but I don't know what direction he'll take the show. It's hard to imagine that he'll go backwards in terms of undermining how films construct narrative but I imagine that in order to have this funded he has to.
It's hard to say but I'm excited. He's the only american director still making interesting shit.
You are the worst kind of person.
Aesthetics are damn near everything.
And there is SUCH a big difference in the way film and digital can look.
That said, I like some digital camera aesthetics. If it's shot with a Red or Electra, it can be pretty cool and atmospheric in a new kind of way.
Going to pretend that it's bad for quick and easy shitposting. Just like pretending season 2 and FWWM aren't good.
>Select all images with pies.
This captcha is a miracle.
I have to agree with this. I've never seen any TV show reboot pitch itself so fucking perfectly like Ash vs. Evil Dead.
Especially the episode where they accidentally summon that demon.
Who says it has to be shot digitally?
nigga one of the LYNCH PINS of Inland Empire was that it was filmed on digital have u never heard david talking about that kinda shit
