Cannabis is an addictive drug. How many Sup Forumstards will admit they are addicted to THC right here right now?

Cannabis is an addictive drug. How many Sup Forumstards will admit they are addicted to THC right here right now?

Former daily smoker here. Haven't smoked in 5 months.

>Haven't smoked in 5 months.
If you are this much of a faggot you should probably go back to smoking.

I haven't smoked in a year. No withdrawals when I stopped. Coffee is much harder. I'd smoke again in a heartbeat if I was in a state where it was legal

I was addicted, smoked daily for a few years.

As far as I've read, though, weed withdrawals are pretty mild compared to some of the harder shit.

I was addicted to nicotine I was not addicted to THC. People like you are why safe spaces exist.

I'm dependent but not addicted like I am to nicotine.

I'll smoke you, fool. This post isn't about me. It's about you admitting you're addicted to a mind altering substance. Go ahead and admit it. There's nothing wrong about it except that you're in denial about it.

So you start off saying it's addictive then trumpet how easy it was to quit
Nice

Dependence =/= addiction. It's not chemically addictive but lots of people have no self control and would just like to be high all the time.

what's the difference between dependence and addiction? Sounds pretty much the same to me. Like, "I'm not addicted, I just need it to get through my day is all." Lol.

What's really holding you back? You can get fake piss.

Weed helped me kick nicotine a substance that is actually addictive. I like smoking weed but I'l go weeks or months without smoking so you are full of shit faggot. kys

Smoking weed helped me with my spice addiction. That was scary. I'm glad to have herb. It's easy to quit. I've done it multiple times. When I really need to.

Smoked pretty much every day for a year...had to temporarily quit because I'm looking for a better job.

I was irritable for a few days, but otherwise no withdrawal effects. Anyone who thinks weed is addictive hasn't experienced real addiction.

>addictive drug.

addiction is not a binary term. Drugs vary in their addictiveness. THC is less addictive than caffeine , alcohol or nicotine. Of course its habit forming , if it were not people would not voluntarily take it repeatedly.

will weed fuck you up? nah man
i save smoking for the weekends cus if i did it every day i would lose drive and would be stupid the whole day. my tolerance is pretty low so i can smoke half a bowl and be good for 2 hours. i wish i could be stoned and drunk every day, but theres shit i gotta do

It's not chemically addicting, so it is hard to compare to Opiates, let alone alcohol.

I smoked a lot after locking in my major in college...
then I smoked a lot after getting a salary job...
then I smoked a lot while climbing my shitty corp ladder

Now I'll probably smoke at the end of the year, when out with friends, but when I come home from work, I don't even bother.

It's easy to make bad decisions when you are in a cycle of depression, like being unemployed, like waking and baking every day.

I'm almost embarassed to have so many devices at this point, but I never had to "kick" smoking.

Vidya and porn are both more addictive than weed

Well with nicotine I feel like I need one every so often or I will feel like shit. With weed I smoke it so I can get a good nights sleep

I haveny smoked in probably 2 or 3 months. I'm not sure, I haven't been counting because I'm not addicted to it. Used to be a heroin addict, and I haven't used in just over 2 and a half months now. I am counting, becuase heroin actually is addicting unlike thc.

I'm stoned and drunk right now. It's pretty great

Amen!

>Coffee is much harder.
This. Quitting coffee can give migraines, quitting cannabis just makes you irritable at best.

an addiction is physical. for example coffee give u head aches as a withdrawl symptom but a dependance is the same as an addiction but no physical withdrawl symptoms

I know you're trolling. But what is your definition of addiction?

Mine would be continuing a habitual behavior that having a negative impact in your life. That or simply a physical addiction. Weed is hardly addictive in a physical sense. And it may be argued as being psychologically addictive. In that sense someone simply enjoys doing it so they do it. It can have negative consequences in ones life, but most of those are legal and shouldn't exist anyway. People aren't going bankrupt and not paying their rent because of their weed addiction. Stealing from their family. This isn't heroin. People are just smoking weed because they enjoy smoking weed.

I haven't smoked for two days and I feel fine and not compelled to smoke at all.

sounds like some rationalization shit son

i'll say that weed is hard to quit for some people, everyone is different. i get super gnarly mood swings and just generally feel like shit when i have to quit after smoking for months straight. its a mental addiction but i mean, what the fuck it lasts a couple days, its not like meth or H.

Its not even dependence. Its just consumption. Consuming it because they enjoy it.

I'm going to step out and smoke a bowl right now. Brb

Na the worst part about quitting pot is the insomnia and then the flood of forgotten dreams once you finally can sleep again

Had to stop since we get drug tested at my job and NOW my psych wants to drug test me for adderall.

Which i think is lame, but then again I was totally addicted to it, it was so boring but I couldnt stop without a good reason.

I feel better when it comes to motivation on homework, and social situations like going out, seeing friends, other than that, nothing has changed.

Withdrawals lasted 2 weeks, tiredness randomly, and sleeplessness.

3 years of constant smoking.

OP is a fucking lying faggot, I smoked for two years, and stopped back in August because it got boring.

I have insomnia when I'm high too, so I wouldn't know

Im gopnna smoke because OP is gay.

>Im gopnna
>gopnna

yea without caffeine i get headaches, aches, tired etc. I absolutely know I am addicted to caffeine and I would go so far as to say I am getting that way with bud. I just definitely feel more at ease in scenarios with people drinking around me etc when I can smoke. I cannot drink due to health issues and alcohol is the most wideley used drug.

I know that sounds like excuses because they are. Everybody has their vices and i just sort of admit bud is mine. I have tried to get to a set amount I smoke every few months and work long hours late at night alone. I work from home and own an online trading business. I definitely admit that when I smoke my mind wanders and it is harder to stay focused for sure. I guess one of the things that makes me do it though is that I get pulled in so many directions with customer service, finding items, etc. that I like the way it lets me slow down for a bit.

Anyway I guess that is my thing with bud. Coffee and shrubbery are what I do.

>you're in denial
You made this post fool. Look up projection. I'm dependent, I never denied it. If you have to brag to strangers about not smoking for a few months, you probably are too.

gno you arngrnent

I would say it's as addictive as coffee, which is indeed addictive. It's not the same sort of addiction, but I'm pretty equally grumpy when i didn't get my heavy daily dose.

The magic of weed does wear off after awhile.

Especially when you start doing lsd. Plus the acid can make the weed high weird. Auditory hallucinations everytime I smoke for a week after a trip.

I quit weed cold turkey after being a heavy smoker.
Was easy as fuck.

Addiction is physiological, dependence is psychological

I'll admit it

I only smoked once months ago and haven't had any urges since but keep listening to your mommy faggot.

Addiction has a pathology which certain characteristics.

In the most technical sense, you are addicted to anything you would enjoy. You're addicted to eating or sleeping you're fucking from birth. Anybody can make this argument about anything.

If you smoke weed all the time but you can quit for a couple months where your job hunting you're not addicted, you just like smoking weed.

This is not theoretical astrophysics, Google "pathology of drug addiction".

>I cannot drink due to health issues and alcohol
Same here user, but weed is better anyway.

My voice to text fucked that all up.

Was stoned pretty much throughout college. Ended up with BS degree. As in, bullshit. Haven't smoked in about ten years now.

I still get closed eye visuals when I smoke and I haven't tripped in months

Clearly I was trolling. I would more or less agree with that definition although physical dependence does not necessarily imply addiction. There are certainly people who spend all of their money on weed and who are not paying their rent. Although heroin is clearly infinite times worse in every aspect, there are still people who smoke weed that are not aware of the reasons they smoke weed, the negative impacts of weed, and whether or not they are even high.

i was back when i was a pot head from 14 until about 1 year ago, 22 now, i had a hard time really quitting for 3 days for a T break, i couldn't stop to get jobs, i couldn't eat without it. because i wouldn't be hunger until i smoked

so true. just stopped smoking a week ago and the dreams have been gnarly. i dont really mind tho

Weed is definitely addictive. That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, but the people who smoke it daily should acknowledge that it's an addiction.

Addiction is defined by physical withdraw
Thc has no withdrawal symptoms
OP is fucking retarded

I know about projection. How much is your copay, Mr. Pyschologist?

You're dumb
I'd smoke again if I could get a fuckin job where they don't drug test like faggots

>Haven't smoked in 5 months.
clearly not addicted
can't say i'm addicted
"habituated" would be closer
i smoke a couple of joints in the afternoon/evening, daily, have for decades. the times i've been without were no big deal.

anybody who becomes 'addicted' to weed needs to seek mental health counseling.

I had that for awhile after I tripped back to back weekends for 2 months. Went away after a few months.

>tfw it was easier to quit opiates then it is to quit weed

yea definitely but it just sort of sucks to have any vices really. it would be hard to be completely straight thought without something to help me calm down a bit. Cant stand pills either

>Thc has no withdrawal symptoms

It really can for some people, although not to the extent of tobacco or alcohol

>people who smoke it daily should acknowledge that it's an addiction.

why ? people who drink coffee or tea every day rarely call themselves addicts.

There is a physical withdrawal from weed if your tolerance is high enough.

I smoke like once a week if i have it, so maybe 2-3 times a month.

Wouldnt say im addicted

>alcohol more intoxicating than heroin

You know how I know you never used drugs?

/thread

Once you ackowledge it then you can be more self aware and consider what whatever the substance is does for you, if you feel effects, if you're wasting too much time on it, if it's giving you anxiety, there are so many reasons acknowledgement is important. I think self awareness is my main point though because it fits in with every reason to acknowledge it

Everyone has an addiction you tool. Some are just looked down upon. Fuck off, you instigator.

I smoke like once a year for a full month straight because i buy a good amount. Then i just stop when it's gone with minimal cravings. If you think it's so hard to quit you need to change your lifestyle. Obviously when you're a stoner and have stoner friends you won't be able to quit easily.

I'm proud of you. Also im about to 420 blaze it and fuck you you fat virgin cocksucker.
>Hey daddy am I shitposting right?

I smoke when I can.
>Last smoked 2 weeks ago
>Got no money

I have a dependence on it, but it's not addictive. I'm unable to stop due to my lack of willpower and my mental gymnastics, not because it contains a physically addictive chemical or substance.

it's pretty hard to quit, one of the worst imo

withdrawals? no brainer, I'd rather quit weed than any upper or downer

however, it's just hard to not smoke

if it's not physically addictive it's powerfully mentally addictive, at least if you smoke enough

pretty much stay high when I have it, when I don't I suffer from insomnia, lack of appetite, aggravation, fuck G like an inability to have fun unless I'm high

troll thread but it's real shit

you ever suck dick for weed. i use to suck dick for coke

How can you 420 when it's 8 minutes past the 20th minute of the hour? Even if you're in Australia you're have to wait 52 minutes.
Yes, I looked that up, because I'm a fat virgin cocksucker with no life now that I don't smoke weed

I think you're just a faggot

At least you didn't suck dick for Pepsi

i think u want your dick in my mouth

Based post. I smoked weed for years but I don't anymore. I don't think it's bad, I just no longer had a place for it. I'm friends with some really intelligent and successful people who still smoke on the regular to this day, though, and I say good for them.
I'd say my relationship to coffee is probably in the realm of addiction too, honestly. I don't drink it in retarded amounts, and I only have it in the morning, but man god damn it if I skip it, I know...

Marijuana doesn't create a physiological dependence. A psychological addiction is a completely different thing. It's a very important distinction. Once creates dependence whether or not you like the substance because your body comes to need it. The other creates addiction because the person enjoys the way it makes them feel more than their normal state.

This is obvious troll bait but maybe someone can learn something about the difference toady before they go off and join the DEA.

mt dew yes

I'm an alcoholic who's been sober for several months.
Not a fucking day goes by where I don't think about drinking. After a month of quitting cannabis, I don't even think about it anymore.
OP is a pharma faggot who's full of shit.

Good job, user. Stay strong.

Sorry friend but getting high is addictive not marijuana.

I'm physiologically and psychologically dependent on smelling my own farts. Somebody plz help me

anyone who smokes weed everyday knows this is bullshit. If you take something for long enough your mind and body starts to crave it

haven't smoked in a long time used to smoke lots its shit so is alcohol and every other drug. For all you young tards out there just don't be degens and don't do drugs and get drunk everyday. if I could trade every time I got high for some type of accomplishment I would.

Former daily smoker here too. I stopped for 4 months and then
just went back to smokin again.
This way I"m both former daily and a daily smoker, which means I get to smoke twice as much!

Recommending it to any user.

It's mentally addicted like you can be addicted to... I don't know the flavour of a particular kind of Lay's or shit like that?

If your brain is not into 420 full retardation mode, you can easily survive without smoking weed for a long time.

I'm addicted, no question. Daily smoker for years. But, it's an addiction with nearly 0 consequences. I live in a legal marijuana state, I have a good job, a healthy marriage, and decent health. I have hobbies and probably get out of the house for adventure and pleasure more than the average Sup Forumstard. Why not get high at the end of the day and destress from work, be creative, etc.?

When I travel and can't partake, I'll admit I am a bit quicker to get annoyed with the morons and assholes we all encounter on a daily basis, but that's about it.

Best addiction ever. Why is my weed addiction any less normal than the coffee addiction the rest of humanity has?

Mitch Hedberg joke.
I used to do drugs. I still do. But I used to too.

Or the smell of your own farts?

What the fuck are you talking about? Just because you're 17 and took high school biology doesn't mean you get to decide what does and does not have a physiological dependence. Dependence and addiction are separately defined characteristics. A physiological dependence is created by nicotine, caffeine, opioids, etc. Marijuana does not create physiological dependence. Just because you like to smoke after math class to "de-stress" doesn't mean you're going to be suffering real withdrawals if you quit using it. But I'm sure you get pissy sometimes and pee your pants when you haven't "smoked in a while." Fuck off dipshit. Go literally read a book about addictions and then go sit in at a detox clinic and come back and write about how addictive weed is.

I don't know, to be honest the only comedians I have ever heard about are charlie choplin and I don't know, woody allen? And last week I've watched a polish movie about a soviet plot to kill polish government, it was pretty funny too.

Is that when you started sucking logs of shit out of sixxes ass?

Took a gravity right before this

Again if you smoked everyday you might have a clue what you're talking about. There is a withdrawal from marijuuana, mainly problems eating and sleeping but it's there. And you can become physologically depend be on literally anything you psedu dumbass.

Sounds like you might be physiologically dependent on gravity. Better watch out.

You gotta be trollin kid

I've been addicted to meth and kicked that. I've smoked weed on and off since I was twelve. And quitting weed is nothing compared to meth withdrawal. I'm never touching that shit again. Probably. Had some crazy sex with a red head who let me pierce her twat and fuck her in any hole whatsoever.

tl;dr I'm a robot. Would definitely do meth again. I smoke weed regularly and make around 60k a year working for a bank.

I mean, yeah, it's addictive in the sense you'll don't stop, but it's all in your head, you know. I'm "addicted" to weed, but I can go without it just fine, I don't get crazy symptoms like you would if you quitted cigs/heroin, the only "symptom" is that I want to smoke weed
