What do you not get
Did you listen to pt. 1 first?
I just wish there were more tracks like the title track, it's just too chill, noisy and mellow. Is mount eerie more aggressive? Samurai Sword is a great song.
ebin
listen to wind's poem
or just noise rock
So you don't not get it you just don't like it
Stop listening to acoustic breakup music?
Like that other guy said listen to noise rock if you like noise rock
well meme'd friendo
I just don't understand the appeal. Why do you guys like it so much? It feels like I'm missing something
For serious though why is it named pt. 2?
The Glow (pt.1) exists but it is a song not an album
it's like folk music but with more le edgy sounds
mount eerie is far more acoustic oriented
it sounds like phil elverum isn't for you
yeah I think so too
I like the first song of the album despite it being acoustic because I like the harmonies. The other song either sound empty or just weird (like map)
>mount eerie is far more acoustic oriented
not entirely true. check out Wind's Poem and Black Wooden Ceiling Opening
I have the opposite problem as you op where I only like I Want The Wind To Blow. Any recs?

This is Sup Forums and that is Sup Forumscore
Same here. I like the opening track. Everything after that seems pretty unremarkable to me. I haven't even made it into the second half, too despite trying like 5 or 6 times. What am I missing?
nothing
it's just morose anemic faggot wankery
look ma no argument
>argument
it's just a numale exhaling away his last nanogram of masculinity over horribly produced guitars
used to be like this too
one day it clicked. I always loved the first 3 tracks but one day it came to me
great album, lastfm says i've listened to it more than 1000 times by now.
The only things i've been listening from october are this album and sufjan stevens, need recommendations please
be nice
look ma no counter argument
Not the guy you were replying to, just asking you to be nice. It's a great album, one of the best of the century
Bill Callahan? Will Oldham? Those are probably too obvious idk man sorry
>it's not masculine or hi fi so it's bad
>it's emasculated and lo fi so it's good
That's not the argument being made in defence of the album though
i really like how the album utilizes tension. there will be like a sequence of really tense tracks, and then a massive release, for ex samurai sword
Unless you're a white middle class male in your 20s you'll never understand it
where to start with those ?
never heard of'em
I think he might have meant the album
Phil have a certain kind of aesthetic throughout his catalog. Some people, like me, are instantly drawn to this.
Is on to something. Also, I think people who've grown up in parts of the world where the climate is like the rainy, cozy Washington are predisposed to like this kind of music.
the album isn't really acoustic either
thanks
>This is Sup Forums and that is Sup Forumscore
stop this
music for nu-males
used to listen to this album with my ex-gf on the weekends at my dad's forest cabing. then she died.
sorry brother
Phil, or at the very least The Glow pt. 2 is pretty essential Sup Forumscore
it creates a nice atmosphere, like, huddling around a fire in the woods when its cold
>numale
stopped reading, go listen to some KISS or whatever gay shit you listen to because you interpret it as masculine
I TOOOK MY SHIRT OFF
unlike I, the pinnacle of masculinity
no idea how its not immediate for people
get really depressed first and then listen
Bill Callahan is a god, he just released what I believe is his opus (dream river), listen to it 20 times and it will change you
I first tried it when I was 16, couldn't get it either. Three years later I said fuck it I'll give it another shot, and it blew my mind. No idea why.
I See A Darkness and Viva Las Blues
came here to post this
Don't get memed into listening to this
Shhh he is just being irrational dont sweat it
...
Listen to the black metal tracks on Ocean Roar
i feel you OP, this one is for you
kek
Relistening to it and I'm liking it more, You'll be in the air is a good song
>just released
>four years ago
I need more for fuck's sake
Also Apocalypse is better than Dream River and one of the best albums of the decade so far
