TBK
They are about equal, but I like The Seer the most
the seer
to be kind and it isn't even close
TGM > TBK > TS
Filth has Blackout on it tho.
yup
kinda neat that the middle album is the best. creates a nice roller coaster effect. makes me kinda sad when the first of something is the best and then it just slowly gets worse.
and all the other tracks which are also good don't forget about those
glowing man seems to best shrive the tantric exigences of this otherwise ill conceived vivification of swans
you can be sure i'm right because i used cool words
From this thread I can get a clear consensus that no one actually agrees which one is the best.
TBK > TGM > TS
(Although it's clearly the Glowing Man)
Everyone knows that TBK is the best of Revival-Swans
The Seer*
Oh yes of course but dude FUCKIN BLACKOUT DUDE
BREEEEEAAAAAAATH IIIIIIIN
TBK > TS > GM
anybody who says tbk is the best is a clear melon drone
*To Be Kind
the seer shits all over the other two
...
and Stay Here
FLEX YOUR MUSCLES
power for power is goat desu
My asshole looks better than that
Out of those three, To Be Kind for sure. I thought The Glowing Man was a bore and that the Seer is good but not quite as good as TBK. My favorite Swans era is the 90s though. Swans Are Dead is my favorite thing they've ever done.
probably because you aren't a fictional half man half cat
Kek
>The Seer
9/10
>To Be Kind
6/10
>The Glowing Man
7/10
TBK > TGM > TS
Damn, I wish I had something to add to this, I agree 100%
...
top 3 swans songs in no particular order:
-your property
-oxygen
-half life
a little god in my hands and job honorable mention
I'm pretty sure nobody has ranked them my way yet:
TGM > TS > TBK
all good, but TBK is the best
Half Life and Your Property are the second and third worst songs on Cop (Clay Man #1). Job, Why Hide, and Thug are all infinitely better.
>not including My Father
I hate this meme
Weakling is great, I'm not sure there's a moment in industrial that quite meets THIS ISN'T REEEEAAAAL
NOT
REAAAAL
TGM
Close, but no.
Coward
Oxygen (Mostly early version from the Oxygen EP)
Laugh
TBK has the highest peaks but as a whole is pretty bloated.
TGM is consistently pretty good but doesn't have many highlights.
The Seer is a compromise between the two.
I actually finally gave in to the memes and gave The Seer a try a few weeks ago, as a fan of Jarboe-less Swans for years, I had never listened to their current stuff...I was disappointed but you guys probably set me up for much higher expectations...now I don't think I have the heart to listen to the other two
Current Swans is the second worst Swans phase. Nothing will ever top their No-Wave phase
Easily TBK
>second worst Swans phase
I swear if you say gothic phase is worst I'm gonna have to fight ya
It's the worst tho
90s Post-Rock > No-Wave > Gothic > current
Of course not, it's their folk phase (White Light, Love of Life, Burning World). But Gira cleaned up his folk shit on Angels of Light at least
Not really.
Their earlier albums are all more intriguing, but none have the consistent quality of TBK or TGM. Let's be honest, how many times do you actually want to listen to Filth, White Light, or Soundtracks from front to back? Cop is the only album actually worth listening straight through more than once.
HOLY FUCKING PLEB
Thanks for the input
A band like Swans shouldnt be as popular as they are, but they are.
NO HERE
NO NOW
NO SUFFERING
Public Castration is more enjoyable to listen to than any of their modern works
